Gaia, the land where everyone had a place they called home. The world had seen its shares of wars over the course of history, but none could ever compare to the Great War started by Queen Brahne XVI of Aleandria and continued under the Terran Genome known as Kuja. But with the help of Zidane Tribal, then-Princess Garnet Til Alexandros and their allies and friends, Kuja was defeated and the world was saved. Many lives were lost and Terra was destroyed, or so it was believed.

The remnants of the dying world of Terra, and all the souls still inhabiting the world would be assimilated into Gaia, the ultimate irony since Terra was attempting to assimilate Gaia into its world. As a result, the souls of the denizens of Terra would eventually fall into the hands of the Genomes, a creature created by Garland for the purpose of assimilation. Many Genomes who received Terran souls would travel outside the confines of the Black Mage Village and explore the world, some of them relocating and eventually living in former Terran ruins in the Forgotten Continent, namely Oeilvert and Ipsen's Castle.

Seventeen Years has passed since Kuja's defeat. The heroes that saved Gaia went on to live their lives. Garnet and Zidane became Queen and King-Consort of Alexandria respectively, while the newly promoted General Adelbert Steiner married former rival and longtime friend Beatrix. The world had seen peace between nations for the first time in years, but recent events threaten to shatter the peace.

Oeilvert, a young and upstart town, rapidly expanded over the course of the past 10 years an expansion that slowed as a conflict brewed over the right to see who would become King of the new nation, a conflict of succession that ended with the rise of the Genome known as Cyril.

Cyril, an enigmatic figure, began preparations for an invasion on the Mist Continent, threatening to drag Gaia down once again into the flames of war. Even with heroes old and new, will it be enough to stop this new threat?

Appearance:
Annelise is of a slim, yet toned build. Standing at 171 cm (5'7"), she is taller than the average female by a few inches (5'3"). Annelise has long and straight chestnut brown hair that extends down to her upper shoulder blades. Her eyes are the same color as her father's, a set of deep blue eyes that are as deep as the ocean. Her complexion is fair, yet somewhat pale.

Annelise's attire consists of the Standard Alexandrian Armor, a grey breastplate with an emblem of a blue angel holding a spear at the center. The emblem is also present on her bracer as well. Annelise wears flat white shoes and white stockings as well.

Personality:
If Annelise would be described in a series of words, she would be Loyal, Caring and Proud yet Insecure, Always Worrying and having a strong desire to be more powerful so she could protect everyone.

Annelise, being the dutiful daughter of Generals Beatrix and Adelbert Steiner, believes that she has much to prove. She feels herself to be inferior in skill and experience to her fellow soldiers, and for that reason fights at her absolute hardest to attain the approval of her comrades and superiors.

Anne is loyal to her friends and the Queen, Garnet. The latter of which was instilled in both parents. Having met the Queen as a child, Anne is fiercely fervent in fighting for Garnet. She also shows Loyalty to her friends and superiors, and cares for her comrades, believing that they would do better than she would.

White Magic:
Cure: Basic Form of White Magic, Heals for a small amount of HP. Damages Undead.
Protect: Halves damage to Physical Attacks

Trance: Rune Sword: Annelise glows a brilliant light blue glow as she goes into trance mode. In this mode, she has access to the Rune Sword, an extension of the Magic Sword Ability. Rune Sword changes the abilities used in the Magic Sword to Rune Sword abilities depending on the Magic Sword abilities she learned.

Rune Sword Abilities at start:
Fire Sword ► Fire Wall: Strikes the ground and creates a pillar of Fire that blocks off an area for as long as the user can hold it.
Thunder Sword ► Lightning Blade: Strikes the enemy with a Lightning elemental energy blade falling from the sky.
Blizzard Sword ► Ice Needle: Swings the sword creating small Ice projectiles that strike the enemy.

Weapon:
At the start of the story, Annelise wields a standard Broadsword. The broadsword is a two-handed heavy weapon used by knights. It's double-edged blade make it ideal for cutting, though it can also be used for thrusting. The sword is placed on a scabbard which is located on her back.

Bio:
Annelise Kunigunde Steiner was born one year after the events of Kuja's defeat. (According to the Timeline, that would place it around April 1801) She is the daughter and sole child of General Adelbert and Beatrix Steiner. Growing up, she was enamored by the stories of her parents heroic efforts. Inspired by these stories, and wanting to be a great warrior, Beatrix joined with the Royal Alexandrian Army and strove to do her best. Although she never rose to be at the absolute top of her class (a fact that after a few tries instilled in her her inferiority complex), she was highly regarded for her skills in battle, despite her inexperience.

Now ready to undertake her first mission. Annelise is eager to begin her journey and prove herself to her comrades, not realizing the mysterious forces that will come to play in her adventure.

Clothing: (See Image) Rior wears comfortable sweaters made for him by the Mages and his fellow Genomes. He's never been outside of the Black Mage Village so he doesn't know that his fashion sense is abnormal. His pants are made of cotton and are quite baggy, they are tucked into saggy yet comfortable leather boots. He carries his Sword, Grimsilver in a Sheath on his hip. He also carries around a satchel which makes it easier for him to carry multiple items.
Features: Rior has a tail like most Genomes which is the same colour as his natural hair atop his head, Sandy Blond. He has a Green ribbon tied to it with little tassels that dangle from it.
Personality:
Rior is a cold and distant male, he does not worry himself with friends and does not think about family, he tries to act as though he has no emotions, he was, after all an emotionless shell... a vessel that was created for nothing more than to carry souls and that is how he sees himself now, even though he was lucky enough to be given a real soul of his very own.

He looks at the other Genomes and sees nothing but a pathetic race that was never meant to exist. He is rather hard on himself when it comes to his combat skills, often becoming miserable and depressed when he fails, he wants to be the best and prove that he is not just a shell but until then he feels he isn't worthy of human emotions and bottles it up.

Rior tries to hide it but he is rather curious about the world as are most other Genomes. He enjoys learning and adventuring is something he's wanted to do ever since being read the story of Zidane and his gang who saved Gaia from destruction. Street smarts is something Rior is lacking but he is quite intelligent academically.

Class: Red Mage

Abilities:
Red Magic:
Can Cast Black and White Magic at 3/4 the power of a regular black/white mage.
Focus: Rior focus's his mind to create stronger spells. It takes about 3 minutes to focus a spell completely, longer depending on his state of mind at the time.

Spells:
Black Magic: Fire, Blizzard, Thunder.
White Magic: Cure

Trance:

Double Cast: Can Cast two spells in a row.

Weapon:
Rior uses a curved sword which he calls Grimsilver. The sword was crafted for him by the Black Mage who ran the Synthesis shop at the time. It is a Medium length sword with silver decorating the handle. It is comfortable to use in hand and is quite light.

Bio:
Originally from Terra, Rior was only a year old when Kuja was defeated and Terra was destroyed. He and the other Genomes were transported to The Black Mage Village where they spent their days happy and at peace all while learning about the world they knew so little about. They were even given souls so they could live out their lives as normal as possible.

Rior never really had any real family, he was raised by Mage after Mage who's lifespans short so he didn't get a chance to get to know any of them and thus didn't think of them as neither friend nor family. However while under the care of the Mages he found that he had a knack for magic and combat, the black Mage's noticed this too and would teach him to channel his mind as they did to create magic strong enough to defend himself, over the years he balanced out his combat and magic skills taking on the title of Red Mage.

Although he had a simple and relaxed life, Rior found that he was growing bored and wanted to explore Gaia, he'd been told stories of the Heroes that saved their world - Zidane, a Genome just like he was, was able to go on a journey of gigantic proportions so why wasn't he?

So on the night of his 18th creation day Rior left his home in search of something more, his first stop would be Oeilvert. He'd heard of the recent expansions of the town and was interested to see it for himself.

Personality:
Robert is a young man of honor. For him, family, friends and honor are the most important aspects of his life. He is very strong-willed, yet humble. He can be a bit of a smart-alek like his mother Freya, and can be pretty laid back when he is with his friends. He is loyal to his friends and allies, as well as to his country of Burmecia. He looks to his parents as his role models and to his siblings as close friends. He is very polite in conversation, but will speak his mind when he needs to.

Bio: Robert was born one year after the battle against Kuja and Necron, the child of Freya Crescent and Sir Fratley. He was one of her litter of 5 offsring and was raised by them and by King Puck, who would often play with them. He enjoyed a wonderful childhood. He had plenty of friends, including the young King Puck. He always hung around with his brothers and sisters and often acted as their guardian whenever there was trouble, despite whether or not he could handle the situation, which at that young age he was usually in over his head. He would often travel with his parents once a year to visit King Zidane and Queen Garnet, and would often play games with Zidane.

Growing up, he would listen to his mother's tales of his father before his dad lost his memory, along with her own adventures. Inspired by the courage of his parents, Robert decided to become a Dragon Knight, just like his parents. At the age of ten, he joined the Bermecian military to train to become a dragon knight. His two brothers worked as blacksmiths and opened their own shop. Robert's sister Lilly ended up getting engaged to King Puck when she came of age, while his other sister Lana worked as a waitress at the local tavern.

Robert showed his natural talent as a Dragon Knight was he underwent training in the Burmecian army under the strict tutelage of his mother Freya while Fratley served as the royal guard to King Puck, along with one of Vivi's 'offspring'. Using his father's old lance, Robert quickly rose up in the ranks of the Burmecian army.

Now at the age of 16, Robert sets out into the world for his coming of age journey, one that his mother recommended for him. Her desire was for her son to experience the things she herself experienced when she searched for Fratley: to see the world for what it is, to meet many different people of many different races and cultures and for forge unbreakable bonds of friendship.

Would I be allowed to be a hippo-person?

I'd really like to try this out as Hippaul's son. I know it's a bit of a wild card, but it could be quite interesting to give the hippo-people a bit of development and see more of them and their culture.

If not, I'll probably pick a Qu.

As for Squiddy's question: Yes, choose a few spells you start off with, and you cn expand on these abilities as the story progresses.

Ok, Finished my Bio. I fixed it up so there shouldn't be any spelling errors haha I also added a bit in about them now having souls and I added in a few simple spells that he knows.

I hope that is ok? :)

Name: Ricard Fairne

Age: 17

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Appearance: Ricard is somewhat lightweight for his station as an Alexandrian Pluto Knight having a more athletic build as opposed to a bodybuilder look, he stands at 5”10 and possesses a somewhat sharp featured face. He has elbow length dark brown hair which is kept neatly brushed and light green eyes, his complexion is rather healthy looking and is free of the usually associated blemishes of teenagers.


He wears standard issue Pluto Knight armour which is more for decoration than actual combat use, as such Ricard only wears it when he is ordered to. Beneath his armour he wears light brown trousers with a white shirt and a brown sleeveless vest over it.


Personality: On the outside, Ricard appears as a very serious, duty bound man who will do everything for Queen and Country. However, beneath his serious exterior he also has an urge to better himself so that he would be worthy of being a true soldier of Alexandria. As well as that reason, since his initial joining to the Alexandrian Military he has had feelings towards the daughter of Alexandria's Ex-Generals Beatrix and Adelbert Steiner which only strengthened his desire to grow strong enough to be worthy of their presence.


Beyond this he also has a strong respect of great warriors in general, despite her former reputation as 'the cold blooded General who knows no mercy' he looked up to Beatrix while a child which served as his driving force during his training of the Secret Techniques, even as a 17 year old soldier he still holds her in very high esteem.


In a more casual setting Ricard is quiet, protective of his closer friends and at times authoritive. He can even, in certain circumstances show a more shy side to himself when around certain company. He also has a more intolerant side when it comes to the many races of Gaia, or more specifically the stereotypes associated with them when carried out, such as the Qu race's love of food as a way of life or their general simple mindedness or the Genomes' naivety of the world around them.


Class: Samurai


Abilities:
Secret Tech: A sword art involving techniques not known to the military, while Ricard has no mastery over it completely he still has some level of control over it, able to perform actions such as generate air waves and cut through objects with the outside unscathed.


Wind Blade: Using a quick draw of his blade, sends out a high speed blade of concentrated air.


Merciful Cuts: Slashes a target repeatedly, leaving the outside unharmed while the inside gets cut to pieces.


Spirit Slash: A single slash with physical contact on an enemy, has no effect on physical creatures but is fatal to magical or spiritual monsters.


Black Sword: Essentially Sword Magic, only it is possible to perform it without a Black Mage present. Though the effects weaken with one absent as well as restricting the spells possible with this ability.


Flame Sword: Wreathes his sword in flame and unleashes the fire property as a shockwave, upon contact with a physical object it explodes


Lightning Edge: Wreathes his sword in lightning and unleashes the lightning property by plunging his sword in the ground and sending the electricity upwards through the ground as small pillars


Trance: Glows a silver colour as his armour transforms into a Samurai style, his Secret Tech is also strengthened and his sword changes into a Katana

Weapon: A standard issue Iron Sword which is given to every Pluto Knight, Ricard's skill with such a weapon is limited, since a Katana is the weapon he is better trained with.

Bio: Born into a family of travelling Nomads in the Mist Continent, Ricard was trained as a fighter from a young age in an art unknown to the outside world involving the use of a weapon rarely seen in today's world. As well as learning the gift of the 'blade that can cut all' he was also taught of the vast potential of nature and life itself, though also of how at times destruction is needed to beckon forth grand creation. As such he took on balanced ideals of battles worth fighting. As he grew he was also raised on stories of great warriors in the land such as Zidane, Beatrix and Fratley giving him a large level of appreciation and respect for these brave warriors who gained power and skill without giving up who they really were in the process.


As time ticked on and Ricard matured into a teenager the Nomad tribe passed by the town of Alexandria where Ricard's curiosity of their warriors intrigued him, even moreso upon hearing of Beatrix being a resident here. Impulsively he sought out to meet her, in his eyes what he lacked in experience he could cover in what skill he had as his intent was to request a duel with her. Though he was instantly denied that before he even got to see her for himself. Retreating to a tavern in the area he met Adelbert Steiner, the husband to Beatrix, in his eyes he saw Beatrix as the more skilled one in a fight and saw defeating him as a way to demand a duel with Beatrix.


Upon short introductions he suggested a duel with Adelbert in order to test his inexperienced hand in swordplay, which was only a half lie. After some repeated requests Adelbert caved in as they took to the plains outside while a small collection of townsfolk gathered around to watch the friendly duel, among them a girl barely younger than himself caught his attention standing by a much older woman, presumably her mother, something about her seemed oddly familiar. Ignoring it he readied his Katana sheath, keeping the Katana inside as he got into a battle stance, with Adelbert unsheathing a standard Broadsword. While Ricard was easily faster and more skilled with his weapon, as well as using a style that Adelbert was unfamiliar with he couldn't match Adelbert's combat experience and adaptability which inevitably ended in a stalemate with neither side backing down.


Eventually the duel was called to a draw, both acknowledging one another's skills as they shook one another's hands and everyone returned to their daily lives. Not too long after this was he met by a messenger from the Alexandria Castle to join their Military which since the retiring of the former Pluto Knights were in need of refilling the ranks, especially so now that Adelbert Steiner, the former captain had left his post. His duel to a draw with him had piqued the Royalty's curiosity into aquiring him as a soldier. Seeking a chance to prove himself and wanting to find out the identity of the woman he accepted the offer, becoming Pluto Knight IV.


The days, as one would expect of a time of peace were immensely dull, though when the thought of quitting the Military for a more fulfilling occupation he had a chance encounter with Annelise Steiner who he quickly recognised as the young girl who watched his duel with her father, having a strange feeling he couldn't pinpoint as respect, admiration or something entirely different. Trying his best to shrug it off he decided to stay, he could sense something was going to happen if the daughter of two great heroes was getting into the Military in a time of peace.

Koyomi has medium length black hair, with lazy looking blue coloured eyes. he wears a black long sleeve top and pants, with the cuffs of the shirt, cuffs of the pant legs and shirt collar is lined in crimson red. his distinguishable feature is the hair that covers his left eye, and a strand of hair that sticks out of his head that looks like an anntanae.

Personality: Koyomi is fairly withdrawn when it comes to people he doesn't known, but is more relaxed and open with people he's close to. He can be pretty stubborn in his own ways, and may seem like he doesn't listen to other peoples opinions, although he DOES actually listen and acknowledge to what people tell him.

Class: Ninja

Abilities:
Genjutsu
-Flame Edge (Adds fire element to attacks)
-Glacial Blade (Adds ice element to attacks)
-Lightning Sear (Adds Lightning element to attacks)
-Shadow Mirage (Creates multiple illusions to confuse the opponent)
-Final memento (Only usable in near Death state. Uses the last of his energy to deliver an all-out attack. User is KO'd after this attack if used.)

Trance: Koyomi turns metallic black and wearing ninja gear. Instead of attacking with his katana or Kunai knives, he attacks with Senbon needles. He also wears a mask that looks like he's torn his jaw open, his mouth gaping wide with fangs, giving the image that he would devour anything.

In Trance, Koyomi's Genjutsu doesn't use MP, and he is in a permanent "haste" status (untill he is no longer in trance mode, then he returns to normal.)

Weapon: Twin Katanas: Osafune of the water and Ashura of the flame.

Bio: Koyomi lives by himself, in a small house near Daguerro using Grand Dragon bones and the wood from the forests below. He use to live in Burmecia as the only Human ever to live among the Burmecians, but due to being too young to fight, could not help any of his friends from the onslaught on Burmecia back when Kuja reigned. having traversed the globe, after many hardships, finally settled to where he is now. Nothing is known about his parents, due to the fact that he was orphaned since birth, where he was raised by everyone in Burmecia. Now that he is old enough to travel on his own, and after hearing of the eminent attack on the Mist Continent, he has decided to travel to Alexandria, in order to check out what exactly, is happening.

Clothing: As observable in the image, Alleria is often seen in a battle dress – complete with gauntlets and knee guards. These are lightweight armour that does not weigh her down much. Due to the fact that she does not have any pockets in her skirt, she is carries along a haversack with her.

Personality:

Disciplined and taciturn, Alleria is well-known to be diligent and more focused on practicing and perfecting her swordplay than on socializing - as some of her fellow swordswomen prefer. That is not to say, however, that she is anti-social, or awkward in social situations. While on the same note, Alleria can be rather arrogant when it comes to swordplay. A prodigy in the art, she knows her own capability and potential, and is overtly proud of it.

In terms of opinions, she is otherwise extremely neutral. Alleria does not have any strong opinions about the political situation, nor of her own race of people, nor of history and how Terra failed to assimilate Gaia as planned. Attempting to change her opinion rarely works.

Swordplay:

- Power Break


Alleria gathers strength in her arms to deliver a devastatingly powerful blow meant to weaken the enemy physically. Enemies directly hit by this attack experience weakness in their subsequent physical attacks due to the physical trauma, and require some time before recovering completely.


- Disarming Manoeuvre


Years of swordsmanship training has allowed Alleria to develop a highly sophisticated way of disarming the opponent. Only applicable to weapon-wielding opponents (For player-controlled characters, this is only applicable with consent)


- Mirage Manoeuvre


Intense training has improved Alleria’s fitness level enough to reach sustainably high speeds with her sword(s) enough for them to be a blur as she unleashes hurt on her opponents.



- The subsequent moves are what Alleria calls her ‘Rank and File’ – Two and One are only usable in Trance mode. Five, Four and Three must be executed in sequence. (In that to specifically execute ‘Four’, Alleria must first execute ‘Five’ before she can move on. I’m not sure how to phrase this otherwise, so sorry for the length.)


- Five


Alleria’s special move; literally incorporates five sword movements targeted at specific weak spots to disable the enemy for an easy kill. This skill requires that Alleria uses all her other techniques before coming to this, and also costs her a rather sizeable amount of energy.


- Four


The follow-up to Five, this technique infuses her spirit with her weapon, allowing her sword slashes to be extremely strong, but also causing her to experience quick loss of stamina as well as a rather long recovery time after every attack.


- Three


Adopting a specific swordplay technique, Alleria can either focus on weakening the opponent’s status, or in swiftly defeating the opponent. The former adds accuracy to Power Break, and defence, but at the cost of physical strength. The latter adds strength and agility, but reduces defence.


Mirror:


When faced with sword-wielding opponents, Alleria can mimic their swordplay. This allows her to have increased evasion against such opponents. Sword techniques can also be mimicked – assuming there is no magic involved. This skill does not apply to Magic-based moves.

Alleria seems to emanate an aura of soft purple, and gains the ability to use her strongest techniques – Two and One.



Two:


This skill is only usable when Alleria wields two blades. Unleashing a flurry of furious strikes aimed to kill – this move consumes half of Alleria’s available stamina.



One:


Alleria’s strongest move; by infusing her spirit into the blade, her weapon essentially becomes a part of her as she dances on the battlefield. Emanating an intense aura of death that terrifies those weak of will (Excepting player-controlled characters, certain NPCs, and certain random characters), Alleria devastates all that comes her way. Her techniques after activating this skill increase in strength, but at the cost of stamina.

Swords (Any type): She does not have a specific weapon of her own.

Bio:
Alleria was only given a soul after a group of Genomes migrated to Ipsen’s Castle and decided to settle there. Planning to create a ‘Pluto Knights’ of their own, some of the Genomes that were good with the sword decided to train some of the children in the art of swordplay. As they were not experts, a lot of freedom was given to the children to create their techniques. While some failed terribly at it, others, like Alleria, excelled.

A prodigy, Alleria had an immense talent with the blade which was promptly recognized by her trainers. By the age of 15, she was already capable of taking on all her trainers at once and defeat them in a serious duel.

The subsequent year saw her rising to be the leading swordswoman in Ipsen’s Castle, until she decided that she was tired with being stuck in a place where her only challenge was when her opponent becomes desperate enough to try a ridiculously high-risk manoeuvre with little to no chance of success – especially so when it turns out successful and still fails because the opponent fails to follow up.

Deciding to travel to Alexandria, Alleria was keen to take on a Pluto Knight to further improve her skills.

The Green Eye shown in the pic is the national symbol for the Kingdom of Oeilvert (Oeilvert being French for well, Green Eye) which is the antagonist's home Kingdom. Though to be fair, Cyril is a member of this enigmatic, so called "Illuminati" that rules the land.

Appearance: An agile young man standing at five foot seven, Nodin appears younger than he really is. This perception is only enforced by his slightly feminine facial features, which cause occasional confusion in those encounters. He has brown, thick and unkempt hair that reaches over his ears and hangs right above a pair of emerald eyes.

Being an adventurer, Nodin dresses accordingly, sporting a pair of leather boots, brown baggy trousers, a red cotton shirt and sturdy, yet lightweight leather armor covering his chest. While in the wilderness, he dons two layers of robes and a hood to cover his upper body. His belongings are stored in a large satchel he never lets out of his sight.

Personality: An eccentric untouched by the conventions of ordinary city life, Nodin has proved to be quite challenging to stick around with. Talkative, shameless and honest to the core, he fears practically nothing and thus has gathered both lifelong friends and sworn enemies on his journeys. He finds difficulty in finding attachment to other human beings, often preferring the company of his own feverish thoughts. Even in the face of armageddon, however, he is passionately devoted to protect those who in turn remain loyal to him.

Weapon: Nodin's primary weapon is the Sagittarius, a crossbow customized by himself. He also uses a short sword in case he has to engage in close combat, though he isn't as seasoned with it.

Bio: Born the youngest child to a family of travelling merchants, Nodin spent his early years exploring the world and its diverse cultures. His father, a former Pluto Knight, taught him the art of the hunt, training him to survive on his own and inspiring him to pursue greater things than his own profession.

By the time Nodin was six, the family travelled to Alexandria, hoping to settle down and start a new life. However, it was also the time one of history’s greatest tragedies took place, as the Eidolon Bahamut, along with hordes of Mistodons, invaded the city, wreaking havoc upon everything. Amidst the chaos, Nodin got separated from his family and was buried under the rubble, and when he woke up in the ruins, his loved ones were no more.

The tribulation struck the six-year-old boy’s mind enormously, leaving him scarred for the rest of his life. Taken in by his father’s old friend, he ran away ten years later and started to journey across the world like he used to in the past. He ventured across the continents and mastered his hunting and survivalist skills.

In 1817, seventeen years following the loss of his family, Nodin decided to return to Alexandria to visit his adoptive father and pay his respects to those who fell that fateful day.

Okay, Mistmoor, I'm gonna have to deny your character on the grounds that you need to expand on the abilities.

But as a request, I would strongly consider changing job classes on the grounds that we already have a Samurai and I would prefer to keep the classes as diverse as possible.
