Spirit Shards: The Story.

Many years ago in a small galaxy, planets were being formed by the gods. They weaved their magic, creating their perfect worlds from nothing. The gods would rule over their respective planets, creating their ideal worlds in their image and then they’d command their people as they liked.

One planet in particular; Fides Humus, is where this story will focus. Fides Humus was created by two gods, Acerbus The God of Darkness and Aduro The God of Light. The two gods worked together, creating the only planet out of all the gods that was able to sustain life. Acerbus created night and Aduro created day. The planet was beautiful, magical forests, beautiful unique animals, rivers and seas, everything needed to hold the life of Man.
Finally the two Gods knew their planet was ready for humans.

Aduro wanted to create humans with freewill, she wanted to watch them move about their lives and live in peace. Acerbus on the other hand wanted humans to be used for war, to battle the other gods and take over their planets. The two could not agree and it tore a rift between their once inseparable bond.
They started to fight and in the end Acerbus stole half of Fides Humus casting it into complete darkness. He created a tree of life which would drop seeds on the first day of every month, the seeds would merge into the soil and from them man would grow. Only males would be born from the seeds as Acerbus had no use for females. They would rise from the ground for the sole purpose of serving their God of Darkness in war.
Aduro was left with the other side, complete daylight for every hour of the day. She created humans with her magic, giving them the abilities to reproduce with one another, and do whatever it is they wanted in life.
In between these two sides was one large strip of twilight.

The two Gods lived as enemies on the same planet for Thousands of years; they’d start the odd war over fickle things but nothing as big as what was to come, these smaller wars would cause a few natural disasters per year. Eventually the population of their people started to grow and ultimately contact between Aduro’s people and Acebus’s people became more constant.

One day a young lady from the side of light met in the strip of twilight with a warrior from the side of darkness. They had fallen in love and prayed to their Gods to let them be together. This enraged Arcebus and he damned both humans to death, killing them on the spot without any hesitation. Aduro was not happy, only she was allowed to decide the fate of her creations, that was the agreement between them both, and thus the biggest war of the Gods began.

The war lasted 100 years, God against God and the Humans from the Light against the Humans from the Dark. As the fight went on, the twilight strip began to crack but it was left unnoticed. Over the years the crack would get bigger and bigger and eventually all the pressure resulted in explosions from within the Planet, separating the light from the dark completely.
The gods stopped fighting as they watched their creation destroy itself because of them, they both rushed to their respective sides, trying with all their might to push the pieces together. If the planets didn’t survive, they too would die as they had merged their spirits within to give the planet life.

As the Gods pushed against their side of the planet, their physical beings started to fuse with Fides Humus. They were eventually consumed by it, creating two new worlds. A planet of darkness and a planet of light but not before 8 magical shards exploded from their forms, landing on the planets and burring themselves each in a secret location.

Earth, Fire, Water, Thunder, Air, Light, Dark and Energy.

---

500 years have passed since the event and the humans on both the light and dark planets have lived on without their Gods. Praying to their respective statues every day hoping that one day Acerbus and Aduro will come back to them.
The light Planet, which was renamed to Relucesco was blessed with the power of Magic and the Dark Planet, renamed Umbra was blessed with the power of warriors.
The Relucescians lived in peace, their planet flourished with the power of steam, they created kingdoms and villages and everyone lives as they pleased.

The men of Umbra on the other hand used the power of their Life tree, creating things from the cells of their planet, everything was connected, they made lighting from illuminating cells, houses and transport but they were not as advanced as the Relucescians. They did however manage to genetically engineer the life tree to create females... although it was rare that the tree would produce a female seed.

Each year on the 200th day, the anniversary of their Gods death, everyone from both Relucesco and Umbra would gather around their shrines for the festival of the Gods. They would bring offerings, play music and celebrate what their Gods had given them.
This year was different though, as 5 people from Relucesco and 5 people from Umbra would become the chosen ones, the ones to go on an amazing journey to find the Shards of the Gods.

They just didn’t know it yet.

Name: Lucas Collins
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Home Planet: Relucesco
Home Town: Just outside Divitie, on an experimental compound
Race: Human
Appearance: Usual attire: Clothing consists of: black combat material pants (fairly tight for agility), short sleeved round neck block red shirt, navy jacket -long sleeved- with a cotton hood. He wears it unzipped most of the time., white gold necklace . black fingerless gloves. On his feet are black combat boots.
Physical specs: Caucasian Average muscular, roughly 12 stone, long light brown hair ( just hitting his neck) with a slight fringe. faint scars trailing down his left arm and lower back. height;5‘11. Would be considered attractive in normal society.

Personality: shy and standoffish, he is introverted, preferring to stay by himself. Stemming from abuse from various officials and army commanders, he is extremely rebellious towards authoritarian figures. Awkward around females and children, becoming fidgety when forced into situations with both. Tends to debate and argue with others, but preferring to follow orders instead of leading. His social skills are fairly under-developed therefore, he’s uptight, extremely serious and with a dry sense of humour.
First Impressions: Upon meeting Lucas, a person would probably feel disconnected, as if they were talking to a wall. They would find it fairly hard to strike up a stimulating conversation, as he doesn’t get forms of wit. Playful mocking would be taken as truth. Although, if one was to get past this attitude, the would eventually see the peaceful and calm spirit beneath.
Speciality: Powers/Skills: .Along with proficient swordplay skills, he uses Magic: , lightning magic and Fire magic are his main elements . He can only cast three spells in a row to avoid tiring himself out. His strongest spells have a cool-down time limit-he cant use magic during that time). His main powers are:
Primary; Lightning: This allows him to channel energy in electrical magic. This consists of the different tiers of strength. If charged into his sword(see below) it can cause numbness.
Secondary; Fire magic: He can use fire straight up as an attack, flow into his sword, increasing its heat to ignite most materials it comes into contact with..

Weapons: Orchist: a long-sword., Its specific quality is mainly the fact that magic can freely flow through it and allow the user to disperse magic from it It is a blue steel sword, with a hilt adjorned with several different jewels(Ruby, zircon and clear diamond). While magic is flowing through the sword, the respective element is shown with a glow from the different jewels(ruby-fire,zircon-Lightning,diamond-others)
Armour: Leather vambraces under his jacket, along with a singular Iron shoulder pad on his left shoulder.
Skills: He’s an expert tracker, being able to pick up and follow scents, find footprints and use natures different reactions as judgement.
History: His mother and father, both military scientists, were chosen to undergo an experiment by King Breard to help create human weapons ,bred for war. His mother died in childbirth while he was injected with a retro virus, to stimulate his body and allow his powers to develop and give them potential to grow.
Growing up, he received love as a child from his father-whom felt extreme emotions towards him despite his genes .But there’s only so much a father’s love can do. he did have hardships: forced to train in swordplay and learn different skills such as hunting, tracking and different military strategic measures under extremely harsh conditions, such as corporal punishment and solitary lockdown. He lacked friends growing up, using books to help his perspective of the outside world. Eventually, after 17 years of his life, the program was shelved due to unexplained reasons.
Following this, he was to be “Disposed” of, due to the fact he would be a liability if set free. His father, foreseeing what would happen, released his son from the compound, killing a body double and using Falsified medical documents to cover it his escape. He then lived his life as a wanderer for the next two years, moving through life alone, with only his memoirs to keep him company. He was trying to find some meaning for his life, some calling to him. Would he ever find it?

Character Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neAx2oLVdKg
Battle Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xz_iOCT7Fjk
Other: Can be a slight pervert towards women, due to his history without any prominent female figures.

I also thought, due to the fact I’m new, I should prepare a Role-play Sample(From a Squall RP)

<b>+Just as underestimating an opponent is a fatal mistake, so is overestimating them. for that just hands them an edge which cannot be overturned-your confidence. You cannot fight against a person you think is superior, its a losing battle, one that cannot be overturned-not matter how much of an "Underdog" you are. To fight against another, you must bring them down to your level, where its possible to fight as equals, to the death. That’s how you truly triumph over another person.+
+He used to trick himself, that he too hated humans. His own race. But, that was just a defensive tactic used to keep those who could get close. In reality, he was like almost every human child. He wished to be loved, but knew its horrible repercussions. That-in the end- they leave us, we die alone. He knew himself well at the time, he wouldn’t be able to handle that kind of pain. But now, he's grown. He's gained the strength that comes with others, that is passed by the bond shared.+

+The boy himself knew, this being concealed a great deal of hatred behind her Icy deposition. He knew that she-as a being beyond that of a normal human- she was power mad, and gave herself a superiority complex. He wondered to himself, had she read a certain Renaissance writer? One of the first to come to that conclusion-that all humans were evil? Perhaps, as she herself must be ageless. She could have had mental ability which equalled some of the greatest brains of the human species, yet he didn’t give her a superiority complex.+</b>
"...What gives you the right to judge my home....? You obviously have an extreme God-complex..."
<b>+His reply was bitter, just as cold as his opponents element, yet his face was still so....<I>non-challant</I>. Was it fear which generated his demeanour, or just determination and focus. He knew what he wanted, what he wished for. It was the end of the cold, the climatic finale before the spring. The slaying of the Ice Queen. He didn’t care for repercussions; he didn’t mind selecting his own plate. Which head was to be placed upon it, that will be decided!+
+The weapon, no matter which way its looked upon, is idiotic in design. A "gun" which cant fire? Failure!....Or is it? does the trigger mechanism bare another, more elaborate usage? That would be the Lion's secret weapon, his trump card if you will. He would avoid releasing that information early on, for the impact would be completely nullified! Nevertheless, if it's a life or death chance perhaps revealing it's "add on" would be needed for defend-his battle style is built around offensive tactics, an extra is a must-have for defending.+</b>
"...Unrefined?, personality wise perhaps, but my renzokuken style is the definition of refined swordplay....Hell....Hell will be a paradise compared to where your going!"
<b>+This was it, the Lions roar! With a loud cry, he hurdled towards the Ice Queen-fangs bared and claws revealed. His did not waver upon the attack, but instead held his gunblade bearing left arm forward, parallel to the floor. This was followed by a large leap into the air, incorporating a spin into the dynamic acrobatics. This was the key, for a circle of large, crimson coloured orbs materialised around him horizontally. Descending towards the ground, projectiles looming closer, the Lion quickly placed his right hand upon his left arm, detonating the orbs. This was a bluff, for the closest spikes had be reduced to flakes, and the furthest blown off course. It had been his "fated circle" ability-used for Defence!+
+As the misty residue dispersed, he restarted his courageous charge towards her, the tip of the blade now pointing downwards to the ground. The chrome began to shine a deep blue as his body accelerated. His speed was unbelievable now, as his feet left the ground-blade branched, ready to strike. Closing in on her, his weapon swiped diagonally, its intent: bisecting her body. It was much more powerful than a normal slash, it was his "Rough divide" attack! Either swift movement or pure brute strength would be needed to negate this attack!</b>+

Name: Lucia
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Home Planet
: Relucesco
Home Town: Primo
Race: Human

Appearance: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_d7FaqgSZ14A/THfieJIpveI/AAAAAAAAADU/OTDKQtwmdwc/s1600/female+warrior+2.jpg

She is a fairly tall woman of 6"2 with a relatively muscular body, her hair is dark brown and slightly wavy which reaches her elbows when it isn't concealed by her robe, she has light green eyes and a fair complexion for her station.

Personality: Very duty-focused and authoritive, Lucia's training as a Knight has instilled a strong discipline in her making her struggle in casual social situations to the point of being a 'woman of few words' when she is calm and tongue tied when she is taken off guard. She puts on a very serious front, not being one for childishness or games she sticks to her missions and goals. Before everything else, her loyalty lies with the king and as a concequence of that she finds difficulty in placing anything of rivalling priority to serving the king and obeying his commands.

Due to her station being more commonly referred to as the leftovers of the world she has an inferiority complex to those who grasp magic with ease, sometimes even jealousy and paranoia to what people could do to her, helpless as she is to it. By extension of this she is also sensitive to people knowing of this and mocking her for her lack of magical aptitude, sometimes even seeing it as dishonouring her and becoming violent, depending on how well she knows them.

First Impression: On first seeing her she may evoke an air of mystery, due to the rarity of sightings of her units in the public eye, beyond this she could be seen as simply another female soldier and paid little heed.

Speciality: Warrior: Having no ability to cast spells without an aid she is one of the few elite melee fighters on Relucesco, easily surpassing anyone else in physical combat if not with skill then with pure physical strength. She is proficient with the Spear and Shield, Sword and Shield and Dual Swords.

Weapons:

Spear: A double edged light magic enchanted spear, the entire weapon radiates with the glow and is the only way Lucia can perform magic, though a weak substitute to the real thing. Though it has magical ability, it is no less fatal when used for physical means, sporting an extra sharp blade that can cut armour to ribbons with Lucia's force.

Dual Swords: A pair of identical single edged blades, fairly lightweight and sharp, though not as powerful as her spear, these blades are no less formidable in a battle of speed. Unlike the spear these do not possess any enchantment, making them more of a last resort choice of weapon.

Shield: A kite shield lightweight enough to be comfortably held in one hand without hampering her agility, it is strong enough to swat away physical attacks and has some resistance to fire and ice magic, this being her primary defense against a mage.

Armor:
she wears a black leather body suit covering everything but her arms. Across her chest is the insignia of the order of Knights she serves and on her arms and hips she has light red armour plates fastened to her, worn around her neck is a red hooded robe that is large enough to cover her body.

Bio: Being born into an average middle class family, Lucia's destiny was set in stone from the day she was born, groomed as a housewife, marry a rich husband, pop out a few kids and bring her family into the upper class station. As such, Lucia didn't dream outside of this box, never having a show of life outside of this setting made her completely obedient to this life that was chosen for her, never granted a choice in the matter.

At the age of 13 her childhood friend, a young man 3 years her senior, wanted to enrol in the military at 16 when his magic develops. Knowing this, Lucia felt she wanted to do so too, but due to her parents she had no will of her own to choose how to live her life. On the day he was to leave to enrol he spoke to Lucia, telling her to live life by her own mind, not by her parent's.

Taking these words to heart, Lucia mentally and physically prepared herself, little by little in secret from her parents for her 16th birthday whe nshe fled from home to enrol and join her friend who she had envisioned great things from over the years. When she enrolled however, Lucia's life crashed down, upon attempting the magical test Lucia found she had no ability in it, not even the most standard of spells were within her reach. Shaming herself in front of all her peers she was forced to only one other position, a Knight. For those who are incapable of magic build up the far smaller, but elite in melee combat unit and there she remained, even if it was a life of shame, she was willing to bear it if she could find her friend again, the man who over the years she had grown infatuated over her ideal image of him. Even if life didn't go as she willed it, they were her decisions that led to it and that freedom she was eternally grateful for.

Meteora,
:hmmm: only one thing I'll pick on in your bio is you seem to change between past tense and present tense EG: you wrote: "His mother dies in childbirth while he is injected with a retro virus," when 'dies' should be 'died' and 'is' should be 'was'.

Please proof read through your bio and just fix those mistakes and just be mindful of them when writing out posts. I believe in giving the newbie a go so I'll accept you once you're done with proof reading and editing your bio :)

Gavin AEtherae:
Aklyss will need to be moved to Umbra now as all the spots in Relucesco are full. So you can either put him there or create a new character if you'd prefer

Sexy Beast:
Glad to have you on board :) can't wait to see your bio! <3

Relucesco Biography: Finished.

Name:
Xain Xien (Pronounced Shaine Sheen)

Age: 25
Gender: Male
Home Planet: Relucesco
Home Town: Divitie Slums
Race: Human
Appearance:
66fd9f9a7fbf3f3a50c116bf9732053d.jpg

Eyes: Peaceful eyes purple in colour, framed in thick light lashes; they are Xain's most delicate feature. They show a lot of emotion within them and he'll often use his eyes for communication rather than speaking. His eyebrows are thin and narrow pointing inwards, sometimes giving off a slightly grumpy look, he can't help that, that's the face Aduro gave him.
Hair: Xain's hair is short and choppy and rather messy. He does not bother to take care of it, he literally gets out of bed and continues on his day with bed hair. Some people might call it stylish. His hair is a silvery white, sometimes shining a slight blue in the sunlight.
Skin: Tanned from all the constant sunlight and spending so much time outdoors, he has many freckles and spots but no blemishes. He's grown past that awkward teenager stage.
Build: Rather thin, Xain does not have a lot of muscle to his body, he's tried to bulk up numerous times but it never works. He's come to terms with the fact that he will never be physically strong.
Height: 6 foot 3 inches. Rather tall which makes him look a little lanky.
Weight: 60kg rather on the light side for a male.
Clothing: Colourful and eye-catching Kimono's and robes are usually what Xain is dressed in. He is a street performer and counts on his appearance to entice the crowd just as much as his magic tricks or personality. People often tell him he looks ridiculous but he doesn't care.
Accessories: Xain is covered in trinkets and strange jewellery, he has 3 red studs in each ear.
Personality:
Completely and utterly care free on the outside. Xain tries to give the impression that he has not a care in the world and that he couldn't give a damn what anyone thought of him but really he does, he cares quite a lot and finds deep down inside he worries that people won't like him, won't find him funny enough or interesting enough which makes him try hard to impress others.

He dresses differently to create his own unique persona to help deter the idea that he is insecure and most of the time it works. He is a very talkative young man and often speaks of nonsense and fairy-tales, he can easily laugh and have a joke at his own or another's expense but he does take any 'playful' insults to heart and mulls over them when he is left alone.

When someone he cares for is being harmed he can become rather protective and will try his best to help. If trying to cheer someone up he'll often try a joke or a magic trick but most of the time he'll say something wrong and the other will find him offensive rather than helpful.

He is very uncaring when it comes to religion, complaining that the subject is too deep and makes his head hurt when it is brought up. He believes Aduro is good and wanted the best for her people but he will only voice this opinion if he is forced to. He feels the Umbran's and Acerbus are pure evil and is quite rude and direct when talking to someone from the planet of darkness.

First Impressions:
People who meet Xain for the first time often think of him as a 'silly-heart'. Someone who is completely daft and care-free. They often find him annoying and hard to relate to with how cheerful he acts. People think of him as a performer with not much substance to him.

Speciality:
Xain is a Mage who specialises in Water and Earth Magic. He is rather good at using both forms of magic but he has a lot to improve still. His water spells are weak against Thunder magic and his earth spells are weak against Fire. He is completely useless when it comes to hand to hand physical fights and heavily relies on his team mates to keep him protected.

Xain will learn more spells as he progresses but spells he is able to use currently are:

Water:
High Tide: Creates a wave of water which comes crashing down on the opponent.
Encasement: Traps the opponent within a orb of water until they lose consciousness. This spell is currently weak and easy to break out of.

Earth:
Rock Barrier: Raises the earth before him to create a barrier protecting him from harm. It is quite strong against Physical attacks but fire magic can burn through it.
Roots: Gathers energy from the Planet to heal a small amount of health to himself or allies.

Abilities:
The only real abilities Xain has in battle is that he's rather fast and light on his feet, so while he is quite weak, a lot of the time he can outrun an opponents physical attacks when stuck in hand to hand combat, however outrunning enemies magic is something he is not so good at.

Weapons:
Xain uses a wooden staff named Serene which was carved for him on his 16th birthday when his magical qualities began to show themselves. The staff itself is made of Old Oak from the forgotten forest while the top and bottom is encrusted in jade stone mined in Umbra with gold rings along the handle. A large sapphire sits neatly in the tip which helps focus his magical skills into strong spells.

As a secondary weapon for emergencies Xain carries a Dagger which he tucks neatly into his robes belt. The dagger does not hold much importance to him, he bought it off a sales merchant when he noticed that the dagger had a jade stone handle like his Serene and enjoyed the idea of them matching. The blade itself is made of pure stilver and costs quite a lot.

Armour:
As Armour Xain will wear his Robes, he is often at the back of battle and with his Rock Barrier he finds that he doesn't quite need any. If he were to get hit though it would take a lot out of him and probably put him out of the fight until he was healed.

Skills:
Magical Illusions: Being a street Performing Magician Xain has quite the knack for getting out of sticky situations without having to use any form of real magic. He can get out of most chains, rope and shackles making it rather annoying for anyone to capture him.

Charisma: Being able to banter about anything is Xain's speciality, he can be used as a decoy, just send him off to make conversation with whoever you need and he'll do it.

History:
Xain was born and raised in the small village of Primo. His father, a very skilled water mage, was killed in a war between Relucesco and Umbra right before he was born so he spent his life with just his mother and grandmother in their little farm shack. He was a rebellious child always playing pranks, making mischief and just generally being an annoying little kid.

When he was very young he befriended a girl, they quickly became pals and did everything together, she was three years younger and a little naive, he felt like her protector. They grew older together and became very close. Unfortunately Xain's rebellious nature meant that Primo was no longer a place he wanted to stay, he wanted to travel, he wanted to join the Magic Military. At 16 Xain had gained his magical abilities, he'd inherited his fathers Water Skills and his mothers Earth Skills.

The boy had made up his mind, he couldn't stay in the tiny village but he couldn't leave his friend behind. "Come with me?" He asked her but she refused. Her parents were strict on her, she was timid and scared to disobey them. The boy couldn't get her to come with so he left her with some advice, to follow her dreams and don't let anything get in the way, and with that he headed out the gates of the village and began his journey to Divitie.

Once at the capital he enrolled into the Military but was rejected as he was not physically built for it, his magic was hardly advanced and his mentality was not military worthy. This crushed him but there was nothing he could do. Going back to Primo was not an option, he couldn't face the ridicule, and he definitely could not face his friends disappointment in him.

Instead Xain stayed in the Divitie Slums district, life was tough at first, he stayed in a homeless camp for the first two years, this was where he found his talent for making people laugh, he performed magic tricks for the homeless and eventually took his busking to the streets of the main district. People enjoyed his shows and he'd make at least 100 Silver a day. He eventually made enough money to rent an old shack which is where he'd been living since.

Unfortunately money is starting to get tight as less people are donating to his street show so this year Xain decided to travel back to Primo for the festival, there would be hundreds, even thousands of people from all over travelling there, it would be the perfect place to make some extra money. He is a little nervous though, unsure if his childhood friend is still there of if she'll even remember him and little does he know another destiny awaits him there.

Other:
Xain has a companion, a white female Volfe called Rina. Rina is 5 years old and was rescued by Xain when the litter she was in was going to get tied in a sack and thrown into the cross river by the owner of her mother. They've been together ever since. Rina is quite protective of her partner and will attack anyone and anything that she thinks will harm him. She's rather small for a Volfe (a wild monster which is able to be tamed) Xain often jokes that she was the runt of the litter. She has no magical qualities.

Took me about four hours, but here is my character. xD

Name: Sheltatha Rue
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Home Planet: Relucesco
Home Town: Otium
Race: Human

Appearance:
konachancom20205748520m.jpg

(with a bigger staff, see below for details)

Sheltatha is 5’5” in height, only slightly below-average for a woman of her age. Despite being a scholar, she is well-built, being extensively travelled, and cuts a trim, modest and fairly attractive figure, with a little more muscle than average in her upper arms, as a result of carrying around a staff that weighs just over half as much as she does. Her facial features are fairly exotic for a human – although she is most definitely human - suggesting that she has a non-human relative somewhere in her bloodline, although she has never bothered to ask or check; she has a porcelain features, with a long and thin “button” nose, and a sharply pointed chin, giving her a permanently severe look, especially considering her mouth is almost-always set in a frown, and she rarely smiles. She has dark lavender-coloured eyes placed slightly higher on her face than a normal human, with high cheekbones that give her a regal, yet unusual, appearance. Her hair is a deep cherry red, and extremely thick; the majority of it falls down just past her shoulders, but she does have some long strands that fall down past the small of her back: because of its thickness, her hair builds up on itself, and if she were to comb it all out it would likely fall down to around mid-thigh. However, she is not inclined to do so, giving her a slightly unkempt – but not so that anyone would really notice unless they looked closely – look to her. Sheltatha would not be considered overly attractive by most people, but she does have a certain exotic quality to her that would be irresistible to some.

Sheltatha favours soft leather clothing, dyed a deep burgundy that accentuates her eyes and hair. She wears a maroon cotton undershirt, to stop it from rubbing her torso when she moves – a lesson she learned the hard way when she was younger – and, over this, a leather corset, cinched across the abdomen with a belt, tight enough to show off her curves and provide support, but not tight enough to make her look like a particularly fancy prostitute. She also wears a neckpiece of similar design and colour which hooks onto her corset, keeping it in place, and resulting in only a small section of skin being shown, just above her breasts. She also has a pair of elbow-length gloves cut from the same material, giving her some resistance to the heat of her staff, as well as additional grip.

She wears a dangerously small black leather skirt, and over this she wears an open wrap of the same colour and weave as her corset and gloves, to provide her legs with some protection against the elements and still allow her room to move. This can be buttoned up by buttons on the side if she needs additional protection, although this restricts her movement as a full-length tight dress would. She wears high-calf length black walking boots of a harder leather than the rest of her outfit, and far more practical as a result: she has only ever had need for the one pair since she started travelling.

Personality: Sheltatha is a very impulsive individual. Much of what she does, she does in the spur-of-the-moment. She possesses characters typical of a scholar - a boundless patience and curiosity, a passion for leaning and, above all, an aggravating self-confidence that she and she alone is right about everything - however she displays an uncharacteristic willingness to act in the heat of the moment, to act first and question later. Some might attribute this to “mad genius” because some of Sheltatha’s more unorthodox and eccentric ideas come from these moments, although others would say she’s just making ridiculous leaps in logic, because it is extremely rare for Sheltatha to explain herself to others; she often assumes that people will simply “get it” and becomes quite frustrated when they don’t. She thinks on a completely different level to other people, and she comes across as interpreting “different” as “superior” which will often cause clashes. She is not especially arrogant, and is not overly confrontational, but her very attitude suggests the opposite, and as Sheltatha will vehemently defend her views when questioned – having grown up amongst scholars and philosophers, she is well-practised in the art of verbal self-defence – she can be extremely hard to get along with.

Sheltatha is highly opinionated; she has a view on everything, yet she doesn’t really care about anything. She takes an observer’s perspective: that she has no impact upon the world, and is apart from it. She has no time for trivial matters such as feelings, and whilst she experiences them – after all, she is human – she represses them, dismissing them as irrelevant and ultimately just a distraction from the main issue, which is whatever she is contemplating at that moment in time. She does not value logic very highly, for logic is, to her mind, born from forced detachment. Sheltatha aims for a natural detachment; that is, she does not have to force herself to be apart from everything so that she can consider something, for she IS apart from everything.

Sheltatha is not introverted or avoidant: she is quite capable of being sociable, and when approached she is friendly and amicable (if a little blunt sometimes) and, because of her natural eloquence, very easy to have a conversation with. She is quite perceptive, able to pick up most of the time on how someone is feeling, and she won’t beat around the bush, she’ll come right out and ask people what is wrong, but in an understanding fashion. Sheltatha does not care for others at all, but she is nonetheless interested in what they have to say; she is tactless, but she is willing to listen to people if they want to talk, which some would say is quite a compassionate and kind attitude, although she does not see it as such. But she spends most of her time wrapped up in her own thoughts, and it is when those thoughts are questioned by another person, or she is in a discussion, that the harmony between her and others is quickly disrupted, and this inevitably happens when she is asked a question.

Sheltatha’s most noticeable personality traits, however, come in the form of her world views. She is in an extremely small minority in that she is an apatheist: she does not care at all for either of the gods. She believes that Aduro is irresponsible and lazy, hiding her complete indifference to her creations under the pretence of allowing them free-will, and that Acerbus is a tyrant who could never hope to control his people because he has inadvertently given them some degree of freedom by allowing them to have individual personalities and ideas. The Gods, she believes, have had their time, and made a grave mistake in creating life that is capable of individual thought. Yet despite her views, she is highly curious about how the Gods themselves came into existence; Sheltatha does not believe that an Ultimate Creator exists, and she seeks an alternative answer. However, she has yet to find a satisfactory one, much to her frustration.

She spends a lot of her time contemplating issues – it is not enough for her to see how things work and accept that as it is, she wants to know why they work, and if they would work in a different way. She is a sociopath, unhappy with the way society is structured, as she cannot understand or accept some of the prejudices that are held by the majority: the belief that Energy magic is an evil art, for example, and the lack of reason beyond “because the Gods said so” for the reason it is forbidden; especially when Aduro claims to give her creations free will by staying out of their affairs. Sheltatha exercises her free will a lot, and this sets her apart from the majority, meaning she can be taken in one of two ways: people will admire her and be curious to hear what she has to say, or they will hate her for holding such radically different viewpoints and throwing into question the very nature of existence.

First Impressions: First impressions of Sheltatha are not exactly what one would deem as overwhelmingly positive. She is an agreeable and amicable enough person – certainly, she projects no hostility towards people - but has an arrogant quality to her speech, as though she is convinced that she is right about everything. She never openly says as much, but people cannot help but take a lot of her comments personally, especially when she starts speaking out the nature of existence as though she possesses some kind of special insight. She seems interested in what people has to say, but many people get the feeling this is only so that she can dismiss them as wrong and hold herself above them, even though she does not really see herself as so. Sheltatha comes across as a woman stuck so far up her own arse that it is difficult to tell the difference between when she is speaking and when she is breaking wind.

Speciality: Sheltatha specialises in Energy magic, a forbidden art, and for good reason. Channelling the flow of energy through her staff – or herself when required, although that is considerably more dangerous – Sheltatha is capable of some fairly remarkable feats, almost all of which would be regarded as abominable by residents of either planet.

Sheltatha’s primarily specialty (and perhaps only, when you consider things) is healing and protection. Channelling Energy through her staff (or, for more delicate operations, her hands) Sheltatha is capable of healing almost any wound, even those which would be fatal if left unchecked. She can seal cuts, mend broken bones, and even re-attach parts of the body that have been severed. However, there is a downside: she needs to know exactly what the problem is, and where it is. For humans, this is not a huge problem, unless there is unknown internal bleeding. Unlike many healers, Sheltatha cannot simply will her patient to be well again: she needs to know what their condition is. Energy magic is capable of healing far more than other magic, but only if the wielder knows exactly what they are doing. Sheltatha has read many textbooks about the anatomy, and has ever dissected a couple of human corpses to see how things work, but this does not guarantee she’ll be able to heal people. For example, someone has a broken rib. Which rib? Has it broken inwards, or outwards? Has it pierced a lung, or caused some other internal bleeding? Sheltatha can discern which way the rib has broken by simple observation, but she cannot see what other damage may have been caused, so she can do nothing about it until symptoms (in this case, blood filling the lungs and making the patient short of breath and close to death) begin to manifest themselves.

Sheltatha’s healing, whilst far more powerful and complete than standard healing, is quite dangerous – it can make people physically whole again, but it can do nothing for the psychological trauma; it is forced healing, and as such those who have been suffering from large wounds may still feel the pain of those wounds, even though they no longer exist. It comes as a shock to the body when it is forced to heal, so sometimes Sheltatha can do more harm than good…or speed up the death of her patient, if they are severely wounded. Sheltatha has had a fair amount of experience with human patients, and a few other humanoid species of similar composition.
Sheltatha’s primarily form of defence comes in the form of an Energy barrier. Drawing Energy from her surroundings to herself and using the point of her staff as a focal point, Sheltatha can raise a barrier that absorbs any and all magical attacks directed at her by a mortal entity. It is unknown if she’d be able to withstand magical forces, i.e. Guardians, but she hopes never to have to find out. The barrier costs her very little to maintain, as it draws upon her surroundings, rather than Sheltatha herself, and releases the energy in a passive state. Essentially, she redirects the flow of Energy, creating a “dead zone” around herself where other magic is rendered powerless unless, perhaps, it is of extreme strength, but certainly strength far beyond what a mortal would be capable of exhibiting. The downside to this is that those she includes in her protective sphere cannot use their own magic to defend themselves, and she must remain absolutely stationary, and connected to her staff at all times; she cannot re-direct the flow of Energy through her own body. This barrier can also withstand physical attacks, but not to the same degree – monsters of mid-level strength can break through it in two or three hits, and if her barrier is shattered by a physical attack, the resulting backlash will stun Sheltatha for about two minutes, which is fatal if she is by herself.

Sheltatha can also channel destructive Energy through her staff, which is both highly potent and extremely devastating, because the power is (perhaps) without limits. However, it is inadvisable that she does this: once it reaches a certain level, her staff will break from the sheer force of her attack, and the Energy will use Sheltatha herself as a conduit. This is extremely damaging, and will outright kill her if she is maintaining a constant stream of energy: she has already damaged herself multiple times, and spent weeks recovering. Her attacks are perhaps more dangerous to herself than to her opponent, because whilst the Energy will only strike them, it will go straight through her. The best Sheltatha can manage without risking herself is short bursts of Energy that, whilst extremely painful, are not as life threatening as an adept of another element would be able to come out with at the height of their power, and if the burst is too powerful, her staff with still shatter, leaving her without a conduit. She is capable of unleashing short bursts without injury using herself as a conduit (i.e. channelling the force through her hands) but she walks a very fine line if she does this: if she wishes to cause any significant harm, she must risk being harmed herself, and that is not a risk she enjoys taking. Sheltatha could perhaps (merely speculation, based on what she has observed and experienced) kill a Guardian with her power, but to do so would cost her own life in the process, because the resulting explosion of power she unleashed would no doubt kill her as well: she has difficulty killing larger monsters without harming herself, and whilst she is undeniably capable of more than the average elemental adept, they don’t have to risk their lives in the same manner, making her far more limited in her destructive potential than they are, because she is very much afraid of dying, and the pain she has suffered from Energy-related feedback has been excruciating. In short, Sheltatha does not control the destructive side of her magic in the same way that she can control the more passive side: she can focus, aim and release it, but not control the damage it does to herself. She is unaware of its upper limits, because she cannot reach them without killing herself. Whilst she has never attempted to do so, she could theoretically use others as conduits for her energy-based attacks, but this would likely kill them in no short order, unless the burden was split between them. However, doing this would have an immensely draining effect on Sheltatha’s mind, for she would need to shield those she was using as conduits from the negative effects, and make sure that they didn’t suffer an “overload” as such.

Sheltatha also has a single passive ability: as everything has a connection to Energy, she is capable of detecting other life forms, even if they are completely invisible to the naked eye. All she can do is detect them, but it has been enough for her to avoid several nasty encounters with monsters in the past, for they have a different Energy signature to others. These Energy signatures tell her very little: if the one in question has any strong feelings at the time (i.e. rage) or magical talent, and their race.

Weapons: Sheltatha’s weapon is a mahogany staff; an even six foot in length, it is quite heavy, although her arms have grown accustomed to the weight over the years...although if it were any thicker she certainly wouldn't be able to lift it. The top is engraved with a design found within one of the textbooks on Energy magic Sheltatha read in Veritas, similar to a crow, weaved and melded with the body of the staff with iron; it could almost function as a mace if the need arose, although that would be inadvisable. The tip is what is important, for it serves as a conduit for the Energy that Sheltatha uses: without it, she would be capable only of basic healing with her hands, and would risk her life every time she unleashed an Energy blast. It is Sheltatha’s fourth staff; the other three having shattered when she experimented with her destructive capabilities. As the staff is carved from a heavier wood, she hopes that it will be a little more resilient than her previous ones, even if it is harder to carry as a result.

Armour: Sheltatha does not wear armour; whilst her leather garments provide some protection from the elements, she is not a warrior in any sense of the word, so she does not see it as necessary, or even remotely comfortable. Sheltatha relies on her Energy magic to protect her. Perhaps not the best policy she could have, all things considered, but it keeps her safe…mostly.

Skills: Sheltatha has a scholar’s memory: whilst it is not perfect, it is far better than the average person’s, and she can recall much of what she has read with a little thought…and Sheltatha has read a lot over the years, so it is not surprising her memory isn’t photographic. Her main area of expertise is ancient lore and mythology, however she also has some very basic cooking skills (as in, she can start a fire and put something edible on a spit and NOT give herself food poisoning, but that is about it) and reasonable knowledge of the human anatomy, to prevent her from inadvertently killing someone she’s trying to heal…hopefully. Sheltatha is rather well-travelled as well, so she is quite familiar with much of Relucesco, although there are a few places that she has not been to, and she is not intimately familiar with the land the way a travelling merchant or mercenary would be: she’s been there, and she knows what is there, but not the subtleties of the land: where to go to avoid monsters, etc.

History: Sheltatha was born in Otium, and the first five years of her childhood were relatively unremarkable: she would spend most of her day playing with her friends, trying and failing to catch fish, occasionally riding in one of the local fisherman’s boats. Her life didn’t really stand out until she turned six, when she discovered books. Her mother would read her stories of the Gods, of great battles lost and won, and of ancient powers that apparently still lived to this day, and Sheltatha was captivated.

Suddenly, the outside world seemed extremely dull, and she spent more and more time immersed in the stories of the past. When it became apparent that her interest was not a childhood phase four years later, her parents sent her with what little money they owned to be tutored by one of the scholars in Veritas, and it was there Sheltatha truly grew up. Her teacher was an aging man who had fallen out of favour in the unofficial hierarchy of Veritas (which is, perhaps, why he was so easy to hire) due to his unorthodox ideas about the Gods, and the way the world worked. In Sheltatha, he had the perfect outlet to carry on his legacy, and Sheltatha spent much of her time either locked away in her study reading, or taking lectures from him and any other who would speak to her. He was a rich man who believed that these things must be experienced as well as learned, and as a result Sheltatha travelled across much of Reluscesco over her seven-year tutelage…although she was not able to cross over to Umbra, much to her disappointment at the time.

Shortly after she turned seventeen, her tutor quite suddenly passed away, leaving everything to Sheltatha…”everything” constituting a small fortune, a cottage on the outskirts of the city, and all of his knowledge and research materials. It was at this point Sheltatha decided to try and share her mentor’s knowledge, and began attending the debates regularly held amongst the Veritas scholars. Her viewpoints did not go down particularly well, and she was frequently either ignored or laughed off. At one point, she was refused entry. That was the last straw.

On impulse, Sheltatha decided to head to Divitie, to share what she had discovered. Her lectures gained an equal measure of popularity and ridicule, yet she attracted the attention of the right people: namely, the King. Sheltatha was both surprised and pleased to find that King Breard was a curious and learned man who did not immediately dismiss viewpoints that went against the norm. The two had many long conversations that lasted the night and much of the following day – this quickly become the hot topic amongst the servants, and then the rest of the Kingdom – and, barely a week after these began, Sheltatha was part of Divitie’s court. Being of common background, she was appointed a Squire, yet acted in an unofficial capacity as the King’s Advisor…which only served to fuel rumours of Sheltatha’s relationship to the King even further, for no King had ever taken an Advisor before...never mind a passably attractive woman young enough to be his daughter. Sheltatha and Breard would spend many hours locked away together in the King’s private quarters and, whilst the two never did anything more than share their theories on life and occasionally discuss the state of the Kingdom, minds are ever prone to invent fantastic stories in absence of actual facts. Sheltatha developed a very nasty reputation as Breard’s Mistress, and whilst she was accorded all honour and respect amongst her colleagues – after all, the King himself had approved of her – she was secretly scorned and regarded with almost open hostility.

Sheltatha’s practise of Energy magic began a few months after she had arrived in Divitie, with the King’s express permission, after the two discussed its potential merits; having studied it extensively, Sheltatha was familiar with the theory, yet needed more information before she would feel comfortable practising it at any length…information she had been previously denied. She returned to Veritas with an official writ that demanded she was allowed access to all of the resources of the library, to which those responsible had no choice but to accede to. Sheltatha “mastered” the Energy magic within six months, being able to control it at will…yet she found that she was extremely limited in what she could do. She began to experiment with different methods, trusting to her instincts to lead her in the right direction: after discovering how potentially damaging it could be to wield Energy as a weapon, she devised a staff…which shattered when she overloaded it, and almost killed her in the process. Her staff did allow her to make the magic “dead zone” she had read about a reality, however, and study of the human anatomy allowed her to perform more complex healing operations; not as useful as other healing magics, but potentially far more potent. Sheltatha found that it was her understanding and capabilities as a human that were limited, and not the Energy magic itself. She began to understand why both Gods had forbidden its study: its power potentially eclipsed theirs, provided the user was capable of handling it. Unfortunately for Sheltatha, she was nowhere near capable of handling it, and was restricted to what would be seen as parlour tricks by comparison of what she could have accomplished.

Sheltatha was recalled by the King – much to her aggravation – a month after her sobering discovery, to be given an official order: Breard had learned rumours from Umbra (although how he wouldn’t say) that there would be Chosen selected to find the shards of the Gods. Not only was he concerned about the safety of the kingdom – after all, if Acerbus was revived, Relucesco would apparently be damned – and he had long coveted the shards of the Gods. Privately, Sheltatha disagreed with him as to their value (she believed she was on to something far greater in her Energy magic research) but acceded to his request anyway: she would travel to Primo and observe the ceremony and, whether she was chosen or not, accompany those that were, as his representative, until she had the opportunity to bring them all before him. Reluctantly, Sheltatha left for Primo: she hadn’t been very impressed with it the first time around, and doubted this time would be any different…

Cheyt Plaganeran [Cheytans]
A close relative of humans, sharing many similar attributes including most physical features. Their most prominant difference is that their eyes are of the most outasite and fantastic of colours, that their hair is permanently long to a certain length and that their ears are not humanoid, but rather, bird wing like. Their skin is usually pale and blemish free. Cheytans also possess a balanced physical body along with magical abilities. Their blood runs gold, rather than red, but via some divine miracle, does not interfere with blood transfusion with other races such as human. Cheytans are capable of entering a heightened state of consciousness, allowing increased magical abilities and senses and through this golden blood of theirs, when in this state, they emitt a golden glow with white magical lines appearing on their body. However, few Cheytans per generation are capable of reaching to the top level.

Eyes:
Meo's eyes are large,
sharp and serious with it being a fierce crystal ruby red. Her serious eyes are topped off with narrow, jet black thin, arching eyebrows that are set in a slight perpetual frown. While she may have long, feminine eyelashes, the burning passion and devotion in her eyes reflect her personality.
Hair: All Cheytans have long hair that runs all the way to, at least, their knees. Meo's hair reaches down to the ground. Their hair grows at an exponential rate, where people shaved bald can regrow their full length within a few days where it then slows down to normal speed. For Meo, her hair is straight, shiny and jet black, tied in a high ponytail and held with a large red ribbon bow, raising her hair to just above her ankle. Interesting thing about the bow is that she has made it so that there is a snakk cradle near the base of her ponytail for her to slip in her wakizashi securely enough to quickdraw without fear of dragging the sheathe out with the sword. Her hair and frindge at the front is more manageable than the hair at the back. She has two side bangs that come down the side of her head, past her ears, her jaw line and all the way till the breast line, while her front fringes is fashioned in a symmetrical eagle wing bang, in which it rises up before dipping downwards over her forhead and down to just in front fo her eyes. This is done so her sight isn't overly obstructed.
Skin: Most Cheytans are pale by nature, despite long hours under the sun and Meo is no different. Her skin is a pale peachy pink and blemish free by nature.
Build: Meo is small, petite and slim. Size, weight, height, everything. Her frame is naturally small, but by Cheytan physiology, her frame does balance out with positive aspects. Whilst she may not be able to stand still and absorb direct blows to her body, she is quick and nimble, fast to strike with plenty of explosive strength that is surprising to people unacquainted with small Cheytans (they in themselves a bit rare). The smaller the Cheytan, the more strength they can produce.
Height:A touchy subject with Meo. She is only a paltry 145 cm tall. She is perfectly proportioned for her height, though she still feels a sense of inferiority with it.
Weight: Proportionate with her size, Meo is a slight 40 kg, though through her training and job, most of this weight is muscle mass.
Clothing:Meo wears her traditional outfit with her armour. They are intricate and decorated whilst still being battle ready.
Accessories: At the end of her ears, she wears a pair of platinum chime earrings that has a blue diamond ball in the center. Rather than hooks, the earrings are spring hook type, meaning they are securely held onto her ears.
Others: One major difference between humans and Cheytans is that rather than fleshy ear cartilage that humans have, they possess animalisitc ears. Whilst the basis at the head is the same with an earhole, for the Soleire family, they possess eagle wing like ears. Meo's ears have brown feathers on top and white on the underside and are jointed like normal wings. This meant that she is able to move them in a large variety of positions. They usually move in accordance to the Cheytan's emotions and mood, though most people have good control over their ears. Unfortunately, due to her personality, Meo is unable to do so. Her ears have a surprisingly large span and can clear her shoulders when stretched horizontally. When folded, her ears can reach past her shoulders. It is on the end of these ears which she wears her chime earrings
Attire:
Meo wears very traditional Cheytan outfit under her armour. Firstly, on her torso, Meo wears a white keikogi that reaches past her waist. On her waist, she wears a red female fundoshi with a red hakama on top of the waist part of her keikogi. Her hakama has rather obvious side slits. The side of her fundoshi is visible against her waist through these slits. Her hakama also has extremely flaired pants hem. It is to the point where it looks like a dress and spools over her feet. It is her foot wear that raises it off the floor. Where her hakama ties up at the front, the red belt that is part of the hakama is tied into a large shape where the end trails down the front of her hakama with two large golden bells attached to the end. On her waist, she has a purple red sakura obi that is visible even between her armour skirt and armour (more later) that she uses to tie the sling for her swords onto.

For her feet, Meo dons short ankled white tabi socks with 10cm high wooden geta. These are steel plated underneath and along the vertical supports of the geta, which allows her to use her feet in combat as well.

Armour:
As stated before, Meo's armour is highly detailed with intricate designs and symbols.

Meo's gauntlets covers her wrist and her forearms. It is made of three overlapping plates to allow for movement. Firstly, is the area protecting the top of her palm. It is maingly dark matallic purple grey with a golden border (see main picture). It is held onto her hand via a finger loop that goes around her middle finger. It is attached to the main forearm part via links at the wrists. This also allows for movements of the wrist. The forearm part contains two plates overlapped. The one near the wrist is on top, with a portion of it extending over the wrist and above part of the hand gauntlet. This guards her wrists, even when she bend her wrists. The other plate is below the first one, but rather, extends beyond her elbow, protecting it. It is silver in colour and strapped onto a lower casing that wraps around the bottom of her forearm.

For her upper body Meo has a convex chest piece that covers teh entire front part of her torso. Rather than strapped on over her shoulders, a back piece covers her lower back up to her shoulder blades and are strapped together via the sides with the front piece, locked in with an exterior latch and an interior one, which is covered by the front chest armour which overlaps the back piece slighty at the sides. The metal is metallic green silver at its base with two metallic purple grey sections that is similar to the gauntlet with agold border. The first piece is above her breasts whilst the second piece is at her abdomen area. There are two golden symbols at the top right and left of this piece with two red tassels hanging from it. Her frontal chest armour has a neck protector at the top that reaches just below her chin

At her waist, Meo wears armour skirt. Covering over her hakama is a skirt of overlapping plated armour that are the same metallic purple grey as her gauntlet. It reaches from her waist all the way to mid calves. They encircle around her entire body and is split down the back for ease of movement (as such) and at the front (as such). The purple platings are connected to the belt that holds it up and clipped to the cehst armour. The belt itself is armour, being the same green silver as her armour. At the base of the plates, there is a wide golden band that runs all the way around the skirt with intricate etchings on it.

Finally, for her head, she has a two piece headpiece. One is practical while the other is decorational. The main headpiece is a similar metallic green silver as her armour. It covers most of the side of her head as well as the temples with the piece that comes down the side. The arching dip at the front also offers some limited protection for her eyes. The piece is held up by two straps on each side at the end, tied around the back of her head, one above the ponytail, the other below. One of the reasons why her hair goes into a rise and dip, besides it being natural, is that her hair has to go over this helm piece. On top of her head is a small metallic green silver headpiece with steel wire decorations and intricate carved designs along with pearls at the sides. It is intended to replicate a dragon's head. On either side of it are a column of tiger fur, sahped into a cylindrical manner and on top of these are three peacock feathers before a pheasant tail feather ends it. .Its total length is 110 cm giving Meo a total height of 265cm tall.
The pheasant tails stands erect and only bends ever so slightly backwards at 90 cm and above. The tail feathers are highly flexible and does not break easily, capable of extreme bending. The final headpiece is kept on her head via two steel band which can be clipped into the interior of the forehead piece.

Meo did not choose this headset, rather her family did as it was designed already during her birth. Of course, with her small stature, when she grew up, the design had to be rescaled, but it was kept nonetheless. The overly long pheasant tail made Meo feel somewhat depressed about her height, as if a constant reminder.

Personality:

There are many reasons that explains why Meo is dedicated, overly enthusiastic, stubborn and somewwhat gung ho. She suffers from inferiority complex from an innumerable directions. Firstly, her short stature has made Meo believe she was inferior to her brethrens, even though no one had said so. True that Cheytans are mostly tall, but it was not a given that those that aren't are inferior. Secondly, Meo has poor magical abilities, comparatively to her family. Adding fuel to the fire, Meo believes further that she is naturally inferior. Despite her physical prowess, Meo originally saw that her failing in her magical abilities as a sign from the Gods of inevitable failure. However, unable to just roll over and die, Meo clung on like mad, pouring everything she had into practice and training. Where everyone else put in 100% effort, Meo would be always at 300%, which led to her being dedicated and stubborn and giving birth to the ethos that "With enough dedication and effort, one can do anything, even if it took them more time". She didn't care if people could conjure fireballs in 5 seconds when they were 10. If she could get there when she is 13 or 15, she would get there through sheer determination and grinding. This high level of enthusiasm and dedication has been seen by some as being stubborn and obsessed.

Meo is headstrong, tomboyish and rough. She is the type that aren't too good of a strategist in the big picture, but she is very good tactician in immediate combat. Very self conscious about her shortcomings, particularly her height, she would become childishly exasperated and indignant when mentioned or teased, though most of the time, it is more comical than potentially leading into a fight. Most of the time, she would scream something along the lines of "Ukiiiiii (translated to unintelligible noise made in indignity or comedic anger) I'm NOT SHORT! I'LL....I'LL... I'LL SHOW YOU".

Despite her self perceived failure, Meo is proud of her family heritage except for her part Umbran blood. At times, she wonders if this blood was the cause of her failings as a Relucescan. Normally, Meo is a sociable creature. She can get along well easily with most people and she is childish to the core, which shows constantly. She is surprisingly innocent to a great many things in life and is easily amazed by many new things due to her dedication to work and training which has left a large hole in her knowledge. Loyalty, fealty, virtue, chivalry and honour is are leading ethos in her life and she would go through hell or high water for her friends and comrades.

First impression on Meo is always "Who is this Chibi/kid?". Meo has gotten this look so many times that she has a sixth sense when someone thinks this. She can't explain, but she knows it. They would also be amazed by her headpiece, but given her height, they may also think "compensating?", which she can also feel by sixth sense. What would make people curious and pay attention is the gear she is wearing, which appears highly expensive and good as well as her Cheytan ears and her eyes. With the myths and reputation of Cheytans being great mages and fighters, they do give Meo a second opinion.

Speciality:

To her dismay, Meo is a poor Mage. She has slight abilities, but her proficiency is with physical combat. Not that she can't use magic. Its just the level of spells she can use is low. Her specialty (if you want to call it that) is Healing magic followed by fire

Healing:
Basic Heal: As it says, it is a basic healing spell that can heal wounds that arent too serious.
Antidote: Also, as implied by name, this spell can cure most poison that arent too serious or venomous
Fire
Fire Bullet: Capable of shooting rapidly small balls of fire. Though this moves lacks heavy one hit damage, it works well as distraction or keeping enemies behind cover and at bay. Also very easy for more precise shooting

Fire Whip: Creating a tendril of fire about 3 meters in length, Meo can wrap this around a person and cause damage during the time it is wrapped around them, or cause whip damage along with slight burn when used like an actual whip
Dual Swordsmenship:
Her family were capable mage warriors that were able to survive on both front and back lines. They were particularly efficient with singe edged curved blades called katanas that have been in use with Cheytans for aeons. Therefore, Meo, with her physical prowess, was taught to not only wield one, but two full length katanas simultaneously. Though she is far from mastry level, she is quite proficient with the style.

Celle Sphilar [Heavenly Spirit/Mind]:
Despite her lack of ability with magic, Celle Sphilar is a blood ability. Her reaction is surprisingly advanced for her age, though still not refined nor polished. The ability comes and goes with Meo, only activating when her minds reaches a certain state. During that period, her blood glows, which causes a glowing golden white aura around her as well as lines (similar to this) to appear all over her body and face in white. During this phase her physical abilities are heightended exponentially as well as her magical abilities. For Meo, her duration is only for a mere few seconds, only giving her an extremely small window of opportunity to perform one move and most of the time, she would be extremely stressed and moving on instinct when this is activated.

Weapons:
Meo possess three weapons. All three are curved blades and are meitous/ named blades of high make. To draw her katanas, Meo would grip it reversed, draw it out until the sword is almost out before she opens her hand and let the hilt spin clockwise into the right position in her hand. Can be done with both swords. (See attire picture for how the swords are stored)

Mumiyo: Mumiyo is Meo's main blade at 80 cm in total length. She has a cloth sling/cradle that is tied to her right side behind her waist that is gold based with black stitching.

Shigure #2: The second katana of the three, lengthed at 75 cm in total length. It has a similar cradle/ sheathe that is black in base colour with maroon stitchings.

Chidori: The last of her swords. This is a wakizashi stored behind her head, lengthed at 45 cm in total. Stored in a cradle that is made with the ribbon that she ties her ponytail with, it is secured enough that Meo can quick draw without worrying that the sheathe would fly out with it.

Skills:

Meo has a fair few skills that she has gained through her persistance.

Outdoor Survival: Determined not to be a burden, Meo is quite capable of surviving in the wilds without magic, that being hunting, setting camp, starting a fire, cooking and protection fromt he elements.

Luck: Not a skill per se, but an attribute. Meo has incredible luck in general in life. She would win raffle draws, have sunny days when she plans to do things and roll numbers that are generally almost impossible.

Sewing and embroidery: Lastly, Meo is skilled with a needle. She can make large tapesrtries and intricate designs of all sizes with needle and thread that are good enough to sell to nobles and high class people.

History:

When Meo was born, the entire family knew that she was a bit of a runt. The shaman could feel her lack of magical prowess even just after birth. Not that it mattered. Like most babies, Meo didnt know any difference between herself and her friends her age, that is until they began to accidentally conjure up magic here and there when they were 5. When she couldnt even squeeze out a spark or flicker of fire even when being shown by her friends, Meo began to feel different. She began to panic and when consulted with her parents about whether there was something wrong with her or why she was unable to do any magic, she was gutted and bowled over when she was told she just didn't have the talent for it. To her, it was basically saying that she was a fail of a Cheytan. From all the stories she had heard from her family, all were about powerful mages and now that she was told she was not able to perform magic, her train of thought somehow lead her to think it was akin to saying she wasn't ever going to be great.

For a good while, she was gutted by the news, not sure whether if there was any poiint in her being born if she was such a failure. It was made even worse when she had found out that several main line ancestors that she had direct link to was of Umbran blood. She cursed heavily at this, believing the Umbran blood to be the cause of her inability with magic. Worried about her bout of depression and at such a young age as well, her mother got her mentor and tutor to see if she could do anything. With cunning wording and psychology, Meo's tutor gently and subtly taught her slow meditative practices that would let the agic gather and flow better, albeit without telling her it. After a month or so, she edged Meo into "accidentally" creating a spark. Seeing for the first time, her own magic, her tutor then implanted the idea that would guide her life from then on. She told Meo

"No one has no talent or abilities. Its just depends on how far you are willing to go for it. Those with talent but don't put the effort will, in the end fall away in decay. However, those without talent but with effort, in time, will be created into masterpiece. See here this porcelain pot? It was originally, dirt, clay. With enough time and patience, it became something truly beautiful. Now my marfo faura (little bird), will you become something truly wonderful?"

Seeing that magic did exsist within her, Meo refused to roll over and die like a helpless animal. If her friends did 10 practice fireballs, she would do 50. If they ran 2 kilometer, she would run ten. If it only took effort to overcome her shortcomings, then so be it. Like that, Meo burned away all her free time, grinding away at magic skills and training her body. A healthy mind starts with a healthy body was one that her tutor always said, so she went under the tutelage of her mother in order to beat more discipline, skills and will into her

Upon reaching 12, Meo was drafted, like all Cheytans, the Chey Para Military force. Calling it paramilitary was stretching it. It was in fact just military training for Cheytans in preparation for them to join the official Relucesco Military. There Meo poured her heart into everything, determined to build her own destiny and become a masterpiece via blood, sweat and tears. Whilst that meant less time in magic practice, it meant that Meo was able to diversify, gaining many military skills and abilities. She had decided that with her inability to be a scholar, then she would follow in her ancestors footsteps to become a military figure. She decided to capitalise her Umbran physical traits (though not without some regret and reluctancy) to the max and become a warrior mage, just like Frawr Fhauri, one of Cheytans greatest heroes and one of her ancestors.

Upon reaching 16, Meo became a full adult by Cheytan standards. Her family presented her with her armour (which caused a fair bit of indignity and a rathe comical scuffle between her siblings due to the height of the headdress) and her swords before being blessed by the Head Shaman that oversaw her birth. Prepared and ready to join the army, Meo set off and enlisted. She passed with flying colours, her physical examination, though her magical tests were less than stellar. However, not daunted by it as she believes that she still has plenty of time to continue sharpening her magic skills, Meo became part of the Military. She was given the position of a low level NCO (a corporal) due to her experience with the Cheytan Military training. Her life out of her town showed that she had many things that she did not know, which constantly fascinated her. However, one day, she was tasked to soon head to Primo with her unit to oversee and guard the ceremony that was to occur there. She didnt know much details, but she was determined to do beyond her best for her first offical mission.

Others:
While there is a national Relucesco language, Cheytans do have their own that they can use called Hymnos. Most Cheytans would talk in the national language out of respect when in company of non-cheytans, but sometimes, they may converse amongst themselves in Hymnos. In addition, the language is not so much spoken, but chanted or sung, making it rather melodic.

For Meo, she usually speaks in the national Relucesco language, but one or two Hymnos words slip in here and there.
