The trains were running smooth on the morning of September 13, 2020. The last car was packed tight, all twelve seats taken. As the train pulled out at its speed I looked around: So many of them were in a rush with their lives and only few remembered to enjoy what they had. Human’s rarely realized the significance of their own lives. The train gathered speed that morning, so much so that it could not stop in time to avoid an oncoming train.

The jolt of the crash cracked the neck of the passenger in seat one in car 11. The seat two passenger went flying out of their seat and bashed their skull upon the front of the car. Passengers in seats three and four bashed their heads in the iron railing before them. Passengers in seats five and six were sliced by the shattered glass of the train window. The passengers in seats seven, eight and nine were caught by surprise when their side of the car had been hit by a car of a train running on the opposite of the tracks. The last three died in the explosion which occurred afterward.

Twelve deaths would now issue twelve contestants in the Afterlife games: The contest to decide who will return to life unharmed and who will cease to exist.

The rules for Afterlife are simple. 12 characters compete, and only few can make it out of the competition alive. This is a roleplay that aims to be short but sweet. There is a maximum of 6 characters that can participate(excluding the reaper characters) and anyone can create up to 2 characters. 12 contestants must survive in the Citadel city using nothing but their Angels and their own wits to survive. At least one will die each day in the roleplay. Any person can choose to participate. How and what their characters do will branch out a different possibility of ending for their characters or take them on a separate path in the Afterlife storyline. The story has already been planned and written out. How the story unfolds is completely up to those participating and their actions.

Player compete with each other over points. A points decide a character's ending fate in the game. A character who has no points will completely be wiped out of existence(This rule does not only apply to NPCs). The players will battle and compete in a place called Citadel city. The city is gray empty and the only source of food is controlled by the Reapers who give the players challenges through their Angel Phones. If a player completes a challenge successfully they will obtain food and supplies. Players can take each others points by dueling with a person in an RPB like state. Points from one person will be subtracted and added onto the opposing person's score for skillful battle technique and nothing more.

The player who has enough points can choose to purchase any of the prizes by messaging their Angel with what they want. Their ending to the games will then be messaged back to them and the player will be taken out of the competition along with the points they have gained. Each player begins with a total of 20 points. How a player uses it it up to them. Good luck in Afterlife. ^_^

Reapers run the game of Afterlife. Their main goals are to set up the competitions for the players in Afterlife. The Reapers are currently split into two factions. One faction handles the responsibility of the games. The other illegally hunts players just for the fun of it. Reapers are powerful beings and posses an array of different abilities which make them godlike in comparison to players. There are currently two open slots for reapers in the Afterlife games this round.

Angel phones are given to all contestants as soon as the Afterlife games begin. These phones contain "Angels", beings within the Afterlife network that allow contestants to communicate with each other if need be. The Angels also give the players tips if they need it. One reason Angels are needed is for the powers they possess. Angels also keep track of their player's current "life points" which are crucial to survival in Afterlife.

Once obtained, an Angel shares a special ability of it's own with a player. The abilities gained by an angel must first be obtained through points. If a player has a certain amount of points he/she will be able to unlock more abilities. The list of available angels can be seen down below.

The Only Way Out

Life (100+ Points) – A player obtaining 100 points or more will be granted the choice of life. This is the prize of the competition. If the player chooses this option they will no doubt be able to return to their normal life as if nothing went wrong. They will receive no injuries but they will forget completely about the Afterlife games and everything they’ve done.

Heaven (80+ Points) – A player obtaining 80 points or higher will be granted access into heaven. They will no longer have to endure the sorrows of life or the suffering of Hell. They will rest eternally in peace in the spirit world.

Life??? (70+ Points) – A player obtaining 70 points or more will have the option to opt out of the games early, taking a huge amount of points from the game with them. Although these players will obtain life once more they will also have to suffer a very large consequence along with remembering all of the events of the games.

Hell (20+ Points) – A player obtaining 60 points or more will be able to choose Hell as their final destination. Hell is a place of eternal suffering and sorrow. It is usually a last resort to those souls who have not gained a prize in the games and seek to still exist without fading into nothingness

Reaper (30+ Points) – A player obtaining 30 points or higher will be able to have the choice to become a Reaper. Reapers are the angels and demons of both heaven and hell that govern and run the Afterlife games. They posses many powers and give the players obstacles and puzzles to solve. Though they run the games they can be defeated by players if they are challenged and beaten. Once a reaper is defeated in combat one of their powers will be given to the player who defeats them. If a player chooses to become a reaper they will still be in the games but they will not be able to obtain life or death.

Nothingness (0 Points) – For any players who have no points at all their existence will be wiped away permanently. Their souls will never know the joys of Heaven, experiences of the living, or the suffering of Hell.

The 10 Commandments of the Afterlife Games

I. You must have the appropriate number of points to claim a prize. If you have more points than the prize requires those extra points will be distributed among the remaining players while the points spent will disappear from the game entirely.

II. A player can only be killed if their brain or heart is severely damaged. Players can lose limbs and bleed out for days but will not die unless one of these two organs is destroyed.

III. A player can steal a portion of another player’s points by damaging their opponent in skillful ways. Ex sneaking up on an opponent and delivering a blow. This includes battling demons and rogue reapers.

IV. Once a player is destroyed their points will go to the person who delivers the killing blow. The one who kills their target will receive half of the life points of the defeated and the rest will be distributed among the players. A player can give another player his/her points if they are willing to.

V. The Afterlife games take place for 16 hours a day (8:00am – 12:00am). Once the clock reaches 12:00am midnight all battles shall cease. If a killing takes place between 12:00am-8:00am the murderer will be sent to hell with their points distributed among existing players.

VI. If a player wishes to choose a prize they should send a message to the reapers through their Angel phones.

VII. The reapers will send out messages and challenges to players once a day. These challenges include a task, assassination target, or locations of a food drop.

VIII. Citadel city is teeming with demons. A player can choose to battle a demon to bring extra points into the game. Extra points can only be given by God himself and nobody else.

IX. There can be various consequences for not obeying a reaper’s task that is given to you. If you disobey a task a reaper can use the death of a close relative as leverage. These consequences will usually be stated at the beginning of the message they send you. It is up to players to decide if they want to follow these orders.

X. Once a prize is chosen or a player is pronounced defeated or has claimed a prize there is no redoing their choice.

Father: Khoury Calisto. Age: 50 Khoury is a very outgoing man, always out doing dangerous things and generally being rather stupid. (The amount of injuries he's sustainted is staggering) he seems to have little time for family yet he is always there to give comfort and love. He knows many things and tried to teach Kiresta as much as she could. It may seem silly, but he's actually rather smart!

Mother: sissel Calisto. Age: 52. Personality: Sissel is a downright prankster. She's seems rude and demeaning (and..actually is) always putting down tricks and laughing at misfortune. she was a jail guard for the extremely psycho inmates and is downright scary. Strong. Sissel was very adamant about self protection and basically threw her children into self-defence training and courses. She is all together, A Hate-able person you can't help but admire.

Elder brother: Cadyn calisto. Age: 27 Personality: Cadyn is a soldier in the military. He is overly cocky and rude. and could care less about anyone. However he is extremely loyal and will Kill to defend someone. Despite his nature he is rather stratgetic though his plans usually become Rube Goldberg machines.

Little Sister: Cece Calisto. Age: 17 Personality: Cece seems to have taken after the mother, Sissel. she is a prankster from birth and loves causing trouble. She is into fighting and being a Mini-sissel. she however is easily hesitant when someone tell's her she's doing something wrong and quick to anger.

Personality: Kiresta is a mix of both her parents. meaning she has the most flaws. She is a sucker for danger and loves to fight. she Is a very courageous woman and ruthless if she needs to be. She's also a prankster at heart as well. yet unlike her other family member's she has a motherly, Caring side that rarely is shown. she will never back down when protecting someone and is quick to get revenge on people.

However. because she's the mix, She has a number of flaws. she is quick to anger like Cadyn and Khoury, and can be cocky. she is hard to rattle, but easy to keep Rattled. and paranoid about screwing up. and can get sloppy if scared.

But even so she is a fighter and will fight to the bitter end. she views life or death situations as a high risk, high reward type of style. and goes for the prize and will only give up when at absolute zero.

History: Kiresta was born 1999 on September eleventh. The second in her family after her elder brother Cadyn. she was named Kiresta for a strange account. the way it was pronounced, Key-Rest-A, meant to her parents: Key to rest. they named her so she would be a sane person in this dysfunctional world.

Kiresta grew up in a rather...Eccentric family. her father repeatedly coming home sick or injured, Her mother forcing her into self-defence courses leaving her life an undsireable prison. but even so she loved her life. The Action made her feel alive and..invincible.

A Few months later. Cece, her younger sister was born. and suddenly life became hell. Cadyn was entering a serious rebel attitude and was arrested several times. He seemed not to care and was more than happy to cause havoc around the prison. Cadyn's rebel attitude caused Khoury to go into a depression threatening the marriage and causing Cece to become angry and distant. always taking out her anger. But through it all Kiresta stayed Sane. and fought.(Both literally and figureatively) through this all.

Many year's passed and the family somehow stayed together. when kiresta turned 18, Cadyn ignoring all plea's set off for a military academy. Becomign a soldier and going off into battle.

For a few months, the family was quiet and detached. Cadyn's Departure caused a rift between them and the house seemed so lonely. Kiresta, Currently studying to become a scientific Detective, Began more physical training to keep up with standards. Unkowingly pushing the family apart even more.

Flash forward a few years. the Family is all but decimated with Cece becoming seriously depressed. Kiresta, Pushed away at every oppertunity for her trying to help. packs up and leaves to begin more advance training. before she leaves. she recives a letter...Showcasing Cadyn's Return home. she quickly left the letter on the table before leaving for the train.

NOTES: I tried not to give Kiresta a dark backstory that haunts her. I gave her more of a one in the making.

I hope She doesn't come off as a mary sue. cause she isn't. and she isn't over powered...hopefully. she knows how to fight but hasn't put many tactics to use in real fights.

I do hope you accept her. please tell me if there is anything you want me to change!

Occupation: Full-time Server at the Pink Peruvian Bear Café.


Kin: Marin comes from a distant family, a mother who had divorced her husband three years after the child’s birth, and a father who was always so engrossed in his corporation. He is a successful man who had thrown everything into his company, even his family, for success. Marin disassociated herself from her father when she turned of age and moved out into a small apartment to share with two other strangers. Her mother had already remarried within two years of splitting from her husband, accusations leading to adultery, and moved away out into the countryside. Marin maybe gets a birthday card from her every other year, if she can bother to get the month right.

Appearance: Marin’s got feathery brown hair, which she’d inherited from her mother, that comes down just to the tops of her shoulders, layered in several sections. Often left unstyled, otherwise if she throws in a bit of product, she can get it to flare out more to the sides. A small amount of fringe, parting in the center, comes down to her eyebrows. Shady olive hues that often mascaraed for chestnut put out more of a smile than she lets on.


She stands at a staggering 5 foot 2 inches, often getting pushed around in the café just because she’s smaller than others. She may be small, but she’s wiry, well-built so that she could hold her own in a small scuffle with a customer.

When she’s not working and wearing her plaid, pink and white server’s uniform for work, she tries to dress down to fit in, sometimes slumming it in tattered jeans and a long sleeve sweater or a plain t shirt. After putting on a show for customers all day in something flashy, after work she loves to just let her hair down and go invisible with the crowd.



Personality: Coming from a child of divorce, an only child at that, Marin was forced to make friends elsewhere. Working in a bustly café also alleviates any sort of social awkwardness she might have ever had. Being an only child, she was always one to be bubbly and outgoing, eager to make new friends in new classes, and chatting up customers at work.


While the bubbly energetic Marin has always been a key character, she always makes sure to take time to herself, specifically after work. If her roommates aren’t home, she loves to head back to the flat and dance around to classical music in her socks while doing chores, cheesy as it is. Even out on the streets if she was listening to some secured music through her ear buds, she couldn’t help but bust out a few moves. Eccentric was a word used by her friends often… sometimes, quirky?

History: Marin’s family life was as normal as one could get when living in the big city. It was common for most families to be divorced, especially when both halves were workaholics. Despite that, it didn’t cripple her childhood, she wasn’t going to allow that. Marin would often run out into the neighbour’s yards, playing with nearby children even if she wasn’t invited. She wasn’t afraid to go and introduce herself to a stranger if it might make herself a new friend. What else is a child to do? Make imaginary friends?


As she grew out into adolescence, she learned a little restraint, finding that not everybody was as outgoing as she, and that some would even perceive it as bothersome. She learned that it was time to put a cap on things and settled down a little as far as enthusiasm went. She still made an effort, after all, sometimes people can bother to make an effort themselves, and you never gain anything unless you try. Due to this type of behavior, in school she was a classified ‘floater’; one who could float from one clique to another with a malleable personality.

Once Marin graduated, with neither of her parents there mind you, she was eager to get out of the house. At 18 she moved out on her own with a couple who was looking for a roommate. Knowing neither, she tapped into her childish self and was eager to make new friends, especially those she was going to hold a living situation with. As keen as she was, someone else wasn’t having it. Needless to say, that situation didn’t last for very long.

After moving out and bunking with a couple of girls, she managed to keep a better, more boundaried, type of Marin around them. One of the two, Clear, helped Marin get a job at the local café down the block. Without having her father to rely on for funds anymore once she was out, she was thrust out into the workforce. However, Marin found it increasingly easy to work in a café as she loved to talk to people, and the tips weren’t too bad either.

Marin was having a rough day though when she boarded the train that fateful morning. She’d had some unsettling news from the Doctor, throwing in an unplanned event in her already hectic life. She couldn’t stand to mull over the thoughts of it, and she was already late in the day, figuratively and now physically, that she decided to take the train to work. Little did she knew the slight change of plans that it had for her.

Personality: Acerbic, sardonic, and embittered, Fr. X is a product of his experiences, most of which during the second half of his life were downright unpleasant. His tongue is acid and he has no qualms about using it to berate others. Much preferring to keep to himself, Fr. X is often seen to be eccentric, quiet, and is usually thought to be a hermit. The truth is that he dislikes, distrusts, and distances himself from people. With certain notable exceptions. He has a soft spot for teenage girls that bear a resemblance to his late half-sister Lisette, and fights a strong need to protect them in any way possible as a penance for his belief that he was responsible for Lisette's death.

History: Xavier's father disappeared in the clichéd fashion that deadbeat dads often do. One day, while Xavier was an infant, he left for the convenience store and never came back. Xavier's mother remarried when X was 7, and other than the usual friction between a step-father and a step-son, the family was in harmony and lived happily for the rest of X's upbringing. Angela, his mother, and Ronald, his step-father, had two children together, Xavier's half-siblings Ronald, Jr. (RJ) and Lisette. X was fond of them both, but was absolutely devoted to Lisette, 12 years his junior.

Xavier was an average student. He was intelligent, but his brains were more street smart than book smart, and colleges weren't very keen on an average student from the middle of nowhere in Arizona with minimally passing admissions scores. X instead chose to join the priesthood at the age of 20. His ability to connect with common people despite being a priest moved him quickly through the ranks of the Church. That, coupled with his interest in the occult practices of the Church in years past led to a summons to the Archbishop's office where he was granted the position of Venator Daemonum. Demon Hunter.

Father X had a fair bit of success, performing his fair share of exorcisms, denouncing false claims of possession, and just plain hunting down demons and dispatching them. This didn't sit well with the demons, and a Sigillum Daemonum (Demon's Seal) was placed on his family's home. Before Xavier could reach them, a demon possessed his half-sister and used her to slaughter the rest of his family before disappearing through a portal. As she passed through, X heard Lisette's own voice screaming his name in sheer terror. With his experience, X knows that the part of the entity that is Lisette is all but dead, and the demon has full control of her mind.

Through his rage and grief, Father X essentially went rogue, turning his back on the priesthood. Because of his actions, the Church took away his status as a priest, but could not deny his ability to track and destroy demons. Thus, his status as Venator Daemonum was retained. And that was what brought to the train on September 13th.

He had received information that one of the passengers may be a demon.

Oh I'm so glad that there's interest in this ^_^ The two bios are approved! I'll link them and put up the information for the NPC characters when I get back from classes later.

Oh someone actually chose to reap! The history of a reaper can be any recollection of their human life to their participation in the games to joining the reapers. Anything along those lines will do with history. As for powers I meant to restrict reapers as having only 5 powers in the bio but I guess I forgot. The powers can be powerful but the reapers themselves shouldn't be invincible or godlike. More like...a boss at the end of a stage kind of power level as opposed to final game boss with 4 different forms and a bajillion health and attack strength.

The only difference is that his usual attire is colored green.

Personality:
Ryu is an optimistic. He is always looking on the brighter side of any situation and is always striving to perform his best. But he knows that it can be a hindrance on the job. So during his police work, he is focused and more realistic.

History:
Ryu Matsuri was one of brightest boy that the Matsuri household had in the busy city life. With twin sister, Emi and Ryu were blessed with looks and decent intelligence. Despite behind with each other, Ryu was more outgoing and active who loved being the center of the party while Emi was more of the shy sister that wants to stick with her brother and her close friends.

When both of them reached high school, it became more apparent that Ryu was more into martial arts then his studies. So at the age of 16, Ryu started to take classes for Martial arts. By the time he reached age 19, Ryu reached his first Black Belt and was training to teach as well as supporting himself with a part time job to pay the apartment bills. During that time, he also took it on himself to enroll into the police force at age 20.

He was not the best, but Ryu did well enough in the Police academy that he made it into Swat at age 23. It wad during one swat raid that he meet up with his future fiancee and secretary to the police force Hanako Satou. She was a bystander in criminal raid as he and his squad apprehended the criminal in her neighborhood. One thing led to another and soon enough, Hanako was a common sight around him and Emi whenever she was around.

It was on the night before the fateful morning that Ryu pulled her aside from her desk. The office was somewhat empty as he proposed to her. She accepted as the officers on duty at the time applauded them. It was with that in his mind as he got on the train that fateful morning, unaware that life was about to deal him a bad hand.

Very interesting idea... The moment I saw the words "train", I was thinking of that one role play from some time back... Never took off, but...

I hope there's room for one more interested party? I'll check back tomorrow and read up on the first post. For now, it's late, and while I'm relatively free... I'm too sleepy. :D

Yep, another Alyss, but I consider this my favorite version of the character, and will be the last Alyss I ever make. (I’ll probably only use her for one, perhaps two RPs after this, and I have both of the RPs in mind already.) So, I hope you enjoy her. I wasn’t originally going to use her for another other RPs but the ones I have in mind, but I haven’t gotten to RP her and I’ve really been dying to.

Kin: Stephen Aldan – Father - 48: A self made millionaire, he cares more about money than he does anything else. He grew up poor and gambled his money. Eventually, this led to him winning tons of it. From there, he invested his money into stocks wisely and made a name for himself. He’s constantly watching over stocks and he spoils his daughter greatly. However, he doesn’t exactly care for her. He enjoys keeping her happy, but if he had to leave his daughter behind for a chance to make a couple of extra million, he would take it in a heartbeat.

Alice Aldan – Mother- 38: Married Stephen for his money. She came from a well off family but managed to marry up for a higher position. She cares very little for Alyss and typically has maids take care of her. She enjoys her life of lavish goods and is very detached from everything. She also spoils Alyss, if for nothing else than to get her to be quiet and leave her alone.

Due to the lack of… color in the picture – Her hair is a bright red, her eyes are emerald green, her shirt is white, her tie is black, the vest is red, the skirt is red, the pants she wears under her skirt is indeed black as well as her boots.
She’s 5’4 and weighs 100 pounds even. She’s tiny.

Personality: Alyss is a spoiled brat. Her upbringing took care of that. She’s used to getting what she wants; when she wants it. Therefore, she complains quite a lot. Her social skills as such are almost non-existent. Most people find that they really don’t want to be anywhere around her. She has a British accent, making her already “high class” tone even more so. Her speech is ripe with it as she doesn’t use words with contractions in them.

She tends to get scared rather easily when placed into situations where she has no control over things. Meaning she can be completely helpless at the worst of times and marginally helpful at the best. Despite the fact that she’s helpless, she doesn’t enjoy asking for help very much. Physical contact is something that she absolutely cannot stand unless she wants it. So when it comes to violence it is out of the question. She would much rather attempt to solve something diplomatically, or get someone else to do her dirty work for her.

But what she lacks in physical attributes she makes up for in intelligence. While she can be panicky; she can also be very tricky. When she sets her mind to it she can lie with an upmost straight face, act her way in and out of situations, and deceive people in an instant. However, while she is bratty and demanding, when place into a situation where she has little control or knows she’s lost, she will fold up like a lawn chair.

However annoying and bratty she may be, those that get close to her may find a loyal friend behind all the brattyness.

History: For most of her life, Alyss has gotten everything she has ever wanted. Not once has she ever had to go without, and whenever she’s in a bad mood, people indeed go out of their way to make her happy again. She was privately educated and has never once known the realities of everyday life. Then again, she doesn’t believe she should ever have to. She’s rich, and everyone who isn’t is beneath her. Her parents are rather distance, but unlike others, Alyss never really cared. They gave her what she wanted; she had no reason to complain.

She also didn’t have many friends, but she also never craved those either. Money could buy her everything that she needed. Surely they could buy friends too if she ever needed them. She was on vacation when she was on the train.

Exocræt Alyss is probably going to get along very well with a fellow NPC character. I really don't know how you managed to get in my head and create a character so similar to the npc though. Psychic bro :ahmed:

Ahaha that's the spirit! Rogue reapers are sure to liven things up! There are no requirements for reaper images. Most of the ones I have are human but the Rogue reaper images I have are of beasts. Whichever image suits you is just fine.

Her appearance is largely inspired by a celebrity that she admires. Her hairstyle is exactly similar to the celebrity, at shoulder length and with bangs. The blonde hair is a coincidental similarity. Also following the preference of the celebrity, she favors casual wear above all else - leaving smart-casual and formal alone unless necessary. Out of personal liking, she almost always wear a loose, long-sleeved shirt under a bigger short-sleeved shirt and matched with a pair of loose trousers.

She is 5'10, and weighs about 110 pounds. She appears to be particularly frail and vulnerable, though her cheerful demeanor may help mediate that opinion.

Personality:
In a few words: warm and easy-going. She is very receptive to anyone who would speak to her, generally creating a positive first impression to most. Those who come to know her for a longer period of time would also notice her easy-going nature. She never concerns herself with something for too long unless she can do something about it, and it is this quality of hers that explains her charisma.

She may not be the life of the party, but she is one of the strong links that keep the party together. That said, it is loneliness that she fears most among all fears. This fear links to other facets of her personality that would have been strengths without this trait.

She tends to be very trusting of others and would often oblige what others would have her do, whether or not it places her at a disadvantage. In another circumstance, this would be a form of kindness. However, for Sarah, the main reason is to avoid being alone. Nevertheless, it has helped established a reputation for her to date.

History:

Sarah's family is an exemplar. Both her parents are still deeply in love despite the many years of marriage and have, and are still, taking good care of their only child, Sarah. Likewise, their beloved daughter treats her parents with the utmost care and respect.

Sarah's parents were the average day-to-day worker. They never promoted to anything beyond the managerial positions but they earned enough to put Sarah through public schooling. Unfortunately for them, Sarah was never the study material. Although she did put in her best efforts, she only managed to pass her examinations by a narrow margin. After graduation, she moved on to random part-time jobs.

This had went on for a few years now and her parents were starting to goad her into either finding someone reliable to marry, or to get a permanent job. She chose the latter and boarded the train with the hopes of finding a job.
