Operation Moogle

Calling all Final Fantasy fans!!
Have you heard about Operation Rainfall?

Well, we are having "Operation Moogle" which will hopefully get Square Enix to make an HD collection of many Final Fantasy games that we love! Square Enix even said:

"We haven’t made up our mind about that yet, but if there was a strong voice coming through from the users asking for such porting, then obviously we would seriously consider it, but no actual plans yet."

So let's get them to make the game!!

We need as many people to join!!

first of all it does sound fantastic, and a HD collection of the final fantasy games would be awesome but at the same time the question that would either make a lot of people either incredibly happy or incredibly annoyed would is "what console would they release it with?". now I know since they have bought out 3 FF games with X Box 360 (2 of which were on-line grr) but this does not mean that they will release for both PS3 and 360.

also another thing is that it would make the original final fantasies (PS1, PS2) obsolete and therefore not as much fun to play. these games are classics and in my opinion seeing the cuboid head of cloud in FF VII supped up and looking as realistic as lightning for FF XIII will ruin the game and most probably turn me off FF.

obviously this is just my opinion and therefore in the overall scheme of things is useless on its own but if many more people feel the same it would be a problem.

Hey, P3ac3L4r! My name's Macro Man Jr., and I'm an administrator with Operation Moogle.

I'm glad you raised the question of "what console would they release it with?", as a lot of other people would be curious about this. With our effort, it is a top priority to not only give strong voice from fans to Square Enix that we want a Final Fantasy HD collection, but also that we want it across all HD gaming platforms, including PS3, Xbox 360, (most likely) PC, and the upcoming Wii U. In fact, we're quite sure such a compilation would come for both PS3 and Xbox 360. We want to make sure that we ALL can play this compilation, including for us fans of the upcoming Wii U. We're pushing this for everybody.

So at Square Enix's own request, we're providing them the voice they want to hear for a Final Fantasy HD compilation, but we're ALSO voicing that fans across ALL HD gaming platforms want this. We're doing this utilizing a Petition Thread at a forum that is graciously hosting and promoting this Operation Moogle Petition. And we're even going the extra mile to tell them WHAT we would want to see the most on such a compilation, with our Operation Moogle Poll, available both with our Petition Thread and on our Operation Moogle blog site.

As for your second concern, I can confidently say this--go check out our Poll! We purposely left people the options to vote for the classic originals or some of their later revisions. This compilation would simply feature the remastering of past Final Fantasy games, to make them compliant to HD standards. So Final Fantasy XIII as you played it would feel the same way you did, except now it's remastered with HD-quality image and sound of that original--no changes to the actual 3D "cuboid" graphics themselves.

There is really only one game on the Poll taking into consideration a possible total remake (as some people would like to vote for), and that's Final Fantasy VII. However, with both the choices available for both a remastered copy of the original Final Fantasy VII or a complete remake of Final Fantasy VII, more people are wanting the original! Seems like a lot more people out there share your concerns! And we have it all available for Square Enix to see!
