Author's Notes:Okay, so over the course of the next month, I will be doing three different stories, all that have nothing in common, but purely it's for the purpose of having fun writing. You are very much encouraged to read them, and hey, you know commenting really boosts my self-esteem. :P

Anywho, enjoy this first one. :x3:

The Night Angel

In a land called Sagrok, dark skies take over the light. The residents are filled with fear and panic, and the bandits take advantage as each night they gather together to orchestrate a planned attack among the five villages that Sagrok has within it. Everybody fears for their life, and they all gave up hope for a better tomorrow.

If they cannot even live in the today, what is there to look forward too for tomorrow?

This land does not have a King nor does it even have a law system. The farmers that grow their crops try to fend off creatures, and evil doers, but even they cannot stop what is to come from these night assaults.

On one night of the Attack of the Five Villages, there was one man who was said to be sent down from the heavens…or sent from the depths of Satan’s kingdom that could be the savior of Sagrok.

It is unsure even to this day, but back when the fear was at its peak, this one man brought hope. He had no name, and had no identity. Some say he was a Demon of Truth, and some say he was an Angel of Virtue. Whichever it was, he defeated every one of those Bandits and saved Sagrok from its doom.

Now in the present, Sagrok faces a new danger. The neighboring country - Dreck - wants to unite the lesser nearby countries under one rule, and become a force for the continents across the raging seven seas.

The residents of Sagrok enjoy the independence that they have been living in for centuries, and they refuse to give it up. But with hardly any fighting experience and with the lack of a fighting army, how are they going to defend their rights to independence?

Their only chance is to get The Night Angel. If he were to return, then Sargok would be able to train and train until their fighting army was strong and firmly established. The bad news of this all is that The Night Angel hasn’t been around for years, and hope was slipping away.

*******

On the outskirts of one of the lesser countries there lives an old man who bares the face of a mage. He lives in a hut that is comfortable, but smallish. Danko Logan has mastered every art of magic, every technique of an assassin, and has even fought a good number of battles during his time alive.

Danko has done so much in his life, one would say he’s a living legend, but even legends need more. He lives alone. He has lived alone for as long as he can remember.

Danko doesn’t remember every battle he was in, but one in particular has gave him quite the reputation. Some call him ‘savior’, but his most known name is ‘The Night Angel’.

“It has been three-hundred years since the Battle of the Five Villages.” Danko said reminiscing bout the ’good ol’ days.’

There had been many battles, but that one battle dubbed him as a hero, and yet here Danko is three hundred years later living alone like some pathetic loser who has given up all hope in life.

“Danko Logan..” A mysterious voice spoke, as his name trailed into his ears.
Danko recognized the voice, and by his body movement, he did not like the voice.

As Danko turned around, he saw his former best friend - now current King of Dreck - King Sanosuke Draco III. The king stood at a firm height of six feet. His maroon hair stood out by his white and black armor he wore. Green eyes were locked on Danko’s less-than impressive gray hair look with a two foot long beard that was common for men of his age.

“What do you want Sanosuke? Danko asked demandingly.

“Is that any way to greet an old friend?” The king said with a laugh to follow.

They both had their eyes locked on each other.

Two old friends have now turned their unexpected meeting into a dangerous staring contest that could erupt into a fight at any given moment.

“What’s your reason for bothering me?” Danko asked.

The king walked closer to Danko, and with each step, the metal clinging onto the ground could be heard as the noise made a sound that similar to a chain rattling.

“My dear friend, what makes you think that I came here to bother you. I merely want to chat, and remember the old days, but I guess the Night Angel is too busy these days to make time for an old friend.” Sano said mockingly.

Danko looked away in embarrassment.

“Ah, so I see you don’t like remembering that time of your life.” Sano said. “A shame really. That’s the reason you were able to become a legend - because of your fights as the Night Angel.” Sano continued..”I wonder what people would think if they knew about the Night Angel no--”

Before the King could finish his words, a sudden movement of the ground began to be felt at his very core. First pebbles began to rise off the ground as if some force was making them rise to such a velocity. When Sanosuke would trail his eyes to Danko, he could see him not moving, but the source of this sudden burst was definitely him.

“I see I have angered The Night Angel..” Sano said grinning.
“Let’s see what you got old man.” Sano said again, this time confronting him in a provoking manner.

Danko didn’t even utter out a single word. His intentions were clearly obvious: take out Sano with any means necessary. The easy part was getting near him, actually taking him out was the hard part. But hey, if anyone can do it, The Night Angel can do it.

Alaric, the Head of the Five Villages of Sagrok holds a meeting with the Village elders.

The five elders all sit at a round table with four of them sitting on the sides, and the other sitting opposite of Alaric. The room they’re in in surrounded by white walls, with ten candles lit to give light. Alaric sits at a Judge-like podium. His jet-black hair flows slightly over his eyes, but not enough for it to cover them completely. His green eyes gaze down at the village elders as he pound his mallet twice on the wooden podium, and calls the Meeting to a start.

“Elders of the five Villages, I have called you here from the five corners of Sagrok on the matter that has suddenly surfaced upon our land.” Alaric spoke clearly.

He shot up a thin beam of light from his right index finger which bounced off each wall, forging a magical form of the map of the entire world, Wrackt. There was a clear view of the two major lands of the world - Sagrok and Dreck.

On the depths of the map were blue and red markings. The red detailed the amount of armies that are aligned with Dreck, and the blue detailed the fighting force of Sagrok’s army. The difference between the two was almost hard to believe.

“As you can see Elders, we are outnumbered by almost double.” Alaric said frantically.

The elders whispered quietly, and then the room went silent.

It really didn’t take much to force fear and silent panic upon the Elders. If the constant raids of the villages from Bandits every now and then didn’t open the eyes of the old ones, then maybe the fact that the opposing country threatening to invade will.

“What should we do Leader?” One of the Elders asked.

Alaric rubbed his chin in a thinking manner. He took a moment to just think about the options.

“Considering what we have to work with, I think it’s quite simple actually.”

The Elders eyeballed Alaric with glaring looks. The suspense was literally killing them, and they were dying to know what the solution could be.

Alaric stood up proudly, and simply spoke, “we get The Night Angel.”

With blow for blow being matched, both Danko and Sano have the equal amount of power and skill in their repertoire

“Not bad old man.” Sano said panting.

“You’re not so bad yourself, dirt bag.” Danko said in the same panting motion.

They both were going at it for five minutes strait, and it felt like the both of them weren’t about to give in any time soon.

Danko opened his hands. A strange greenish-white light began to flicker from both hands. Foggy-like streams of magic began to swirl around them before moving along to the elbows, and finally the whole arm. With a quick, and swift motion, Danko slammed his hands on the ground beneath him, and in a matter of seconds a ten-foot outline of what looked like a golem of sort began to form.

“What the--?” Sano said with his eyes wide open as fear filled his very being.

Soon the skies turned pitch-black, and sunlight ceased.

“You want to know WHY exactly I am called the Night Angel, old friend?” Danko said with a new profound attitude.

The outline of the golem began to take a semi-physical form as a lime green magical energy began to show. It acted as the base of the golem as the gravel on the ground began to rise, and form around the lime green source as if it were pulled in like a gravitational field or something.

A few minutes passed, and within that time the Golem was fully forged, and it stood looking down at Sano with a striking presence. It had a lava-like eye formation. A lava color as the surroundings, but a yellow-golden actual eye.

“Now do you see, Sanosuke?”
“Do you see the power I contain. I cannot be defeated by the likes of you.”

Sano couldn’t move. His mind wanted him too, but the sight of the golem did not allow him to. He had not felt such fear in a very long time. This was on another level. Sano couldn’t take this golem on. If he couldn’t do that, how is he going to take on Danko at full strength. He needs to get away.

“Bah! I don’t have the time for this. We will fight another day. Until then, live your life, and don’t die so that I can kill you myself.” Sano said angrily.
On the outside, he was angry, but inside he was afraid - afraid that Danko would actually kill him.

“Heh, coward.” said Danko slightly chuckling.

Clapping his hands twice, the Golem was dematerialized. The magical energy that kept the Golem in its solid form ceased, and all the gravel dropped in the instant. In that same moment, the skies began to clear up in the former partly-cloudy weather it was.

A lot of questions was running through his mind, but one thought kept coming back - would Danko go back into being The Messenger of Light; the Demon of Truth; The Night Angel.

*******

“So we’re in agreement?” Alaric asked in serious tone.

The Elders whispered in discussion. It took them a few minutes to discuss it over, and after a little debating, they were indeed in agreement.

“Yes. The Night Angel must come. He must become the hero once again.”

*******

“Your Majesty! You’re back so sudden?” A servant said in slight shock.

After having his meeting with Danko, Sano shamefully admits that he was far superior in strength. This angered Sanosuke.

“The Night Angel is back.” He said walking quickly to the throne room.

A gasp of shock overcame every servant in the room. It wasn’t that he was back, but they all could tell that their king was afraid of this.

“King Sanosuke, what does this mean?” One servant asked.

Sano looked at the servant with icy-blue eyes, and he didn’t say anything. He just continued to the throne room, and to his surprise, his general Kairo was waiting for him to go over the battle plans.

“Okay, now that you’re present, we can go over these.” Kairo spoke bringing up a hologram of the outline of Sagrok and Dreck, “As you can see, we are outnumbering them in strength, but they seem to be maneuvering their troops in groups of small numbers. Their smart.” Kairo said, pointing out the cunning strategy of Sagrok’s army.

Sano sat in his throne while looking at the hologram, and he could only wonder if Danko was going to go to Sagrok or not. If he was, then Sano would have to act now.

“Kairo, it’s no time for planning, we need to act before Sagrok has the chance.” Sano said rising, “gather your troops. We’re going to show why Dreck is the most dominant country in the world.”

*******

Staring at a crate with the symbol of two knives crossing in an x formation, and a white gem dead center, Danko knew what was in this crate. Opening it up, there it was , his fighting gear.

“It’s been so long…”

The thought of fighting again was a half-half for Danko. On one part, he wanted to do something that would make a difference, but he has far exceeded his prime, and it might not make any difference.

Slipping on the fighting gear, which consisted of three levels - light chain mail, cloth, and armor plates over shoulder, elbow, hands, chest, back, and legs(not thighs). Danko had three sets of throwing knives, a short sword, and a very special bladeless handle that forms a magic-only blade by only his touch. This magical handle is called God Send. To finish off his fighting gear, Danko has a simple hood that covers most of his face, with the exception of his eyes.

“It’s time to make amends for lost time. It’s time to go back to Sagrok.”

*******

“Sir! SIR! Where are you?!” A frantic villager called out as he was looking for leader of Sagrok, Alaric.

Popping his head out from a cabinet that was on the floor, Alaric had a rather clueless look on his face. It took him a few seconds to come into terms of what the frantic villager said.
“yes, what is it?” He asked rather calmly.

The villager ran over to Alaric almost tripping over his feet, “King Sanosuke is getting his troops together.” He said.

Alaric looked at the villager, and in a few moments, he would run out of his house, shoving aside the villager who would hit the wall, and be knocked out cold.

“GATHER THE SOLDIER! DRECK IS ATTACKING!” Alaric announced out loud. Every possible warrior gathered together, and the defense was being planned.

“what about the Night Angel?” one of the Villagers asked.

“We can’t worry about that right now. We have an attack coming our way, and this is no time to worry.” Alaric said as he himself geared up for battle. The battle was about to commence, and Sagrok needed every man they had to help fend off the first wave.

*******

A shadow loomed over Sagrok as a set of grey eyes looked down at it. A silver-haired angel glanced down, with God Send in the right hand. A flash of light blinked, and The Night Angel appeared right before Alaric.

“You must be Alaric, the Great Warrior of Sagrok, no?” Danko asked.

Not only Alaric, but everybody in the area were shocked. The legendary Night Angel, the one who uses the shadows to aid him in battle has shown himself in over three hundred years.

“Yes, I am Alaric of Sagrok.” He said answering Danko’s question. “who might you be, stranger?”

Danko laughed. reliving the cover of his hood off of his face, Danko whipped his head in a circular motion, and his silver hair followed with that motion. A light spark emerged from his hands.
“I have many names, but it seems the legend has dubbed me The Night Angel.” He spoke.

“It’s about time.” Alaric said turning the other direction, as he gave his orders. He ordered group A to scout the east and west areas of Sagrok. He ordered group B to scout the north and south. And finally, Groups C and D were to stay with him and defend Sagrok.

“I see, Sanosuke has announced his attack earlier that I expected.” Danko said with a brief smile. “God really has made me get my times worth for my life. As his messenger, I will get rid of these enemies for him, and only him.”
