Okay Nova is signed up for "combat theory" with Prince Nelson (seems as appropriate a shortening of the full name as any) as her TA.

As for what i mean by "combat theory" I defined it as "everything that you can do in combat to get an edge that isnt actually combat", think things like terrain advantage and how to properly apply edges like poisons, flash bangs and things of that nature to your advantage. Including lateral thinking 101, or as i like to call it "how to fix a problem with the stuff in your pockets".

I was planning on doing this via "project oriented learning", as they called it in my undergrad classes, think i explain my views on the matter in class and then we go and apply the stuff in the field. For the "field testing" reason i would like the Friday afternoon slot if we are going to do a real schedule like last time. I have secured a "mission"/long term project with Lil'Red that's open to all students...
Anyone who succeeds will get a straight A in my class as well as a fabulous prize! This missions is hard, totally optional, possibly embarrassing and will have as many "resits" as you want and your ego can endure... Final details are being finalized between me and red at earliest opportunity... More news as it develops!

OOH, if we need me to pick up another class/role I'm always open for debate, either here or via PM, red has my skype details so he can get in touch directly...
 
Mishra will be teaching Practical Alchemy.

Basically that's teaching how to make reactions that are beneficial in battle, from healing and shielding to destruction and preparing them for battle.

Remember in the main SU/D thread you said you talked with the other teachers about subjects? Was it just Gavin that you talked to?

Or are there other teachers besides you three?

Akabea will be teaching a class on Tactics and battle strategies. It's a course mostly open to all types of abilities. I figured I might as well give him a class. Hopefully it fills up the timetable. Give me any time slot that you can't fill up. I'll take any time on any day.

And don't forget Ringo's magic teacher! :P
 
I have just been informed that Prince Horatio Nelson Charles the Third will be teaching a class which i have entitled
"Psychic, psionic and other oddball powers 101" In this course he will be dealing with the use, origin and living a daily live with non magical mental powers. And how to best use those to get what you want. And maybe dabble a bit in how to get those mages who think they're all that to stop haranguing us..."

Curriculum beyond that will be 100% improvisation and the general form of teaching will be more round table discussion panel then classical teaching.
 
Okay, the basic outline is two period per day, with a break in between. So Two big sections. It will be class/ missions, then a lunch break, then another class/ mission time block. After that, its free time. Class can go over time for private one on one into lunch, but these have to be pre organised and not a spur of the moment thing.

Eg: monday class, student A want revision. he would organise overtime with Teacher on Tuesday break time. Again, these are all one on one, possible two on one and no suddenly walking in on them please.

If we ALL want two classes a weak, then its a six day school week with Sunday off. I'll have to confirm if Oli wants this or not. If that happens, then with the seven teachers, a teacher may have the week off even if its a six day school.

Nova is conventional combat theory. Friday Afternoon Confirmed. Please pick the other date for your second class.

Akabea, being the Headmaster, so easily the most powerful character, should be able to encompass all the teachers subjects. However Oli, if i can, do you mind if i let the other teachers have priority?

Mishra Practical Alchemy

Magic theory and practice is bascially the use of magic, from fireballs and quake to healing and shielding, which is bascially what Mishra is doing, except worded differently. Can both players please clear up the similarities and differences with each topic, because if its too similar, i might have one of you change.

Prince Nelson, is Psychic, psionic and other oddball powers 101. From what i read, it seems more like psychological powers such as telepathy. Give me some example powers so i have a clearer picture. This shouldn't clash with anyone else but i just want a clearer image, so provide example of what sort of non magical mental powers

Nathaniel Murdoch, James Lawrence Hoffman have both failed to register their topic. If you can contact these two, please tell them to do so asap, other wise, the other players get priority.
 
Go ahead and let others have priority. I'm just there to fill in if there aren't enough. I don't really want to do all that much to be honest xD
 
James isn't a teacher Tipsy. He's the head Librarian. I'd be more than happy to let him teach a class if you need me to though.

Also, Mishra's class is more meant for people without magic powers to use the effect like mages. Or it can alsobe used to enhance a magic wielder's arsenal.
 
Ok on James then. With him gone, we're back down to 6 teachers, which is good.

and whaaaat? So basically, he can teach non mage to use abilities like mages and also supplements mage ability. Personally, thats like two massively separate topics. I dont see how the teaching methods for teaching non mages will work with mages.

Am i right to bewlieve its somthing like this?

EG: Boy A cant use the typical mage abilities, so through mixing some materials, he can create a fireball like mages?

Because personally, if you cant already use mage abilities, there is no way i can see you can give someone lacking that ability to procure those skills without catalysts. IMO, thats what alchemy is in my dictionary.
 
Effectively, he teaches them what is necessary to make things like explosive potions that will explode on shattering vial. It supplements the fighters normal ability by allowign them a different sort of attack as well as a possible ace.

For mages its more like non magical attacks. So as not to waste magic stamina and have somethine viable at close range.

It can also be used as a bolstering potion for health or strength. EX. The potion I gave Ringo in the endgame of EA to speed up the healing and give hime some energy for the final fight.
 
Okay then. thats what i had thought you meant. its all good then. U and ringo's class are cleared, though your one will be more geared towards weapons and non magic users.

Ringo, Gavin, please pick two days in which you want your lesson on.

Pick day, then whether you want morning or afternoon. Do not pick an entire day, like both monday morning and afternoon.
