Several ppl wounded. What were these tards thinking. They fucking ruined a wonderful cinematic experience.

It's so sad... actually the toll has now gone up to 15 and one of the victims is a baby. Omg... I hope this jackass suffers. Supposedly after the trailers stopped showing and the movie was about to start, a man stood up from the audience seat and then just starting shooting and release a tear gas bomb. Then he shot people who tried to escape "moving targets " and then started killing people at random... it's just really dreadful...

14 dead at least 50 wounded as of this morning. Just heard about this myself. :hmmm: During an action scene of the film, no less.
 
God dammit....

I read about this when I woke up this morning. Why the fuck would someone do something like this? Those poor people :(

It's really sad to hear how many kids were hurt-- my prayers go out to all involved. :sad:
 
It was one person, and a baby was injured but not killed. All very tragic of course.

I am seeing this on Sunday morning with any luck.
 
I heard the Paris screening was cancelled? Or something like that. And there will be police around for the showing in NYC to stop any copycats.

One person did the shooting. He had no accomplices. I think the death toll is somewhere between 12-16. I keep hearing different numbers. While 30+ were injured including an infant. :/
 
Oh, I thought you were talking about the people who were injured. Okay, yeh... I figured only one person did it.

It's strange though, the idiot that did this said he wanted to be like the joker--but what he did and how he went about his crime is nothing like how the joker would go about doing something brutal (at least in the films).
 
Well someone who goes and shoots at a cinema full of people is hardly likely to be sane and logical in their reasoning.

I dont hear about many cases like this one in other countries but the USA seems to be the home for batshit insane crazy gorelike crimes(Atleast most of them or the ones that raise more international attention and shock).

It seems as if 12 people have been killed, but 70 or so were shot in total. Some of the bullets seem to have passed through the wall into the adjacent screen, and injured a few people in there as well.

There have been conflicting accounts and rumours spread in panic about some of it. Whatever the true facts are, it is certainly very horrific.

Yeah, for now I'm taking all the numbers that the media is telling us with a grain of salt. There's various different reports on how many were injured, how many killed, etc.

Bath salts. Well, that's what the media is saying about the recent rise in cannibalism that is apparently sweeping the country (my bet is on the zombie apocalypse, personally). I wouldn't be surprised if the guy was high on something. But I agree with Wanderluster that there's crazy people everywhere. Maybe we just report a lot on crimes like these and other countries pick up on the reports.....I would imagine by now that we seem bat-shit insane to the rest of the world. lol.
 
there are very few other major countries in the world where gun laws are so lax.

i don't know how true this is, but i heard that he'd planted the gun in the screen earlier in the day and then retrieved it just before he started shooting. i also read that when police went to search his flat later on, it was full of booby-traps. i think the most terrifying thing about this is how planned out it appears to be. it certainly doesn't look like a spur-of-the-moment thing
 
You get wackos in every city, that fact makes this shooting more scary since it is quite possible it can happen again.

just that this was so elaborately planned out is why scares me the most. This man went through a big hassle of planning a shooting at a movie theater. Planning out all the little details and even booby trapping his own house in order to kill/hurt/incapacitate those who try to figure him out.

The fact that it was so planned out and not a " I'm pissed today" type of thing, means a whole lot about this event. It was planned and executed with such scary Efficiency that it lends its self that something of this calibur is able to happen with no hope of police force to try and stop it.

It also reminds me of another shooting, but the name is slipping my mind at the moment.
 
I had some family who were in Aurora at the time and were going to go see the premier at that theater. They decided last minute not to go due to various circumstances. I'm very glad that they were not there. Today would have been exceptionally horrible if they had been. :sad3:

I feel for the families of the victims. And fuck the guy who did this. Really? You're going to try and be a copycat of a villain in Batman? This world nowadays is stupid. Killed innocent lives because he wanted to be like someone. Jesus.

I have no words for the rage and sadness I feel right now.

You make it sound like the tragedy is that he ruined the film for some people, and not that fifteen people died. I am sure that's not what you mean, but that's what it sounds like
