Headmaster Krell

The headmaster stood in his office looking over a corpse. It was a male propped up in a clear testing tube of bluish liquid. Smaller tubes entered and exited its body as the dead thing slept. Krell stood directly in front of it, gazing with the observation of a curious older man. His fine green suit and salt and pepper hair reflected a man that looked more or less like a mobster upon the glass of the corpse’s tank. The headmaster’s curiosity of the thing was something.

It was such a mystery to Krell, and sent shivers up and down his spine with each glance. This dead man lying in a tank with tubes protruding from his body looked almost, if not exactly like an older version headmaster Krell. What the Shade were doing with this thing he hadn’t the slightest idea. He studied its face shape, its tattered clothing, and its body shape. Minus the overgrown white hair and beard it was a near exact copy.

However odd it was he was lucky he had taken it from the small Shade invasion while he had the chance. Were these invaders cloning people? If so they must have been failing.

“Oh, dear, how is it going out there?”

For a moment he had forgotten the horde of shadowy black creatures that had followed him to the island after he’d stolen this old dead artifact. “It’s just fine for now. We managed to push them out of the school campus.” The breathless female Student Council Head’s voice replied.

Krell sighed a breath of relief before covering the tank with a crimson curtain and striding over to his window. Out there was where the real battle was taking place. The echoing roar of his dragon Belial could be heard all across the island.

Episode1_zpsc2fa694d.png

Stella Phelda Marx

The tall wooden doors of the Great Hall entrance were closed behind her. Eureka town still crawled with the shadowy black creatures. She ran with her polearm in hand, striking a creature known only as the "Shade". It disappeared in a cloud of black smoke near instantaneously. Luckily for her and the reast of the student council this was only a horde of lesser Shade creatures. Headmaster Krell's dragon Belial flew overhead taking on the Shade ships that were floating nearby.

Since she arrived on the island early as always the rest of the students should be flying on the school ship soon. They would have to clear a path for the entering students. She spoke into her wireless headset once more before using her powers of stirring wind to sweep a few more of the black creatures out of her way. "Headmaster Krell the students should be arriving any minute. The boat docks at the other side of the island. What do you suppose we do?"

"I'd leave strategy to Eliane for now. The goal is to get the students here safely."

"We should have the arriving students take up arms then? I'm not sure about this. Some of them are new. Some might get seriously injured."

"I've got that covered. Staff aboard the arriving ship should be informed by the time they reach the island."

Stella adjusted her headset in her ear before taking up her pole-arm once more. It was the student council, a headmaster, and "Alright Eliane," she spoke into her headset while approaching the gates of Eureka town leading out onto the grassy plains of the island. "How do you suppose we get the students here safely from the other side?"

She awaited Eliane's tactical strategy and stood watching the Shade ship flying overhead with what seemed to be hundreds of the lesser shade descending down from it.

Maeinardi Reyes

So what if she'd been held back a year? It wasn't her fault the school messed up her scheduele. Maei stood on the deck of the flying ship looking out into nothing but gray clouds. Her luggage was stored in the coffin carrier upon her back. She just wanted to hurry up and unpack her things. Snacktime was coming soon and she'd guiltily packed her favorite chocolate treat. She was both giddy and eager to end this trip as soon as possible.

She stood looking over the ship side, into the endless gray colored sky all around her. The clouds seemed to thicken more and more as the ship got closer to the academy. She could barely make out the floating island in the distance before hearing nurse Milly's shouting voice to students. "All Arma students be ready and armed! Magia be ready to support and Dominus stay with either depending on yoru situation! The headmaster says as soon as we land we'll meet opposing forces until we make it to the academy I want a tight combat formation!"

Maei looked at the commotion for a minute. Students were taking up weapons. Many of the shy ones stood frightened at the back. The decks of the transport ship were full of chaos. "What's going on? What's wrong?" she asked.

She got her answer as soon as the ship violently rocked from side to side. Maei stood confused. "Leap into action girlie!" A rough sounding voice escaped her lips as her hand puppet Mopsy pointed toward the floating island.

The first thing she saw was a dragon latched onto a foreign looking ship. The ship had gone down in a crash and the dragon seemed to be swatting at black creatures who seemed to pour out from it. "Oh the Shade? Why are they here?"

"Hurry and focus girlie the nurse said Arma in front!"

Maei took Mopsy's advice. He was the wisest, cutest, rabbit she knew. She headed to the section of Arma students ready to lead the attack. "Hurry now! As soon as we land we're charging to the town gates." she heard the ferocious nurse call. "Be careful and brace for the land."

The landing was harsh and the giant ship gave a thud "Oh! Mopsy I need a weapon!" She reached inside the hand puppet's mouth and pulled out a blade with a slight curve and a makeup of cold blue steel.

Students were pouring out onto the campus. Some with determination. Others hid on the ship refusing to go out into the alien infested campus. The school was a ways away from their landing zone. They would all have to fight their way past the lake and up through the hills into Eureka Town. "Aw this is seriously gonna interfere with snacktime" she sobbed rushing out with the Arma class hacking and slashing any black creature who crossed her path.

--Eile Mires--
The sky was once blue before the green clothed Eile Mires saw the academy. Grey clouds surround above it as the ship flew through it.

"Even the shades got here?" Eile wondered as the ship violently shook.

All she wanted to do was get to the school, unpack all of her clothing and then find the classroom. The shades decided that option was not viable as speakers rang out.

"All Arma students be ready and armed! Magia be ready to support and Dominus stay with either depending on your situation! The headmaster says as soon as we land we'll meet opposing forces until we make it to the academy I want a tight combat formation!"

Eile frowned. She did not work well in formation. Hell, even being in a team made her uneasy. She had nothing against it. It was that someone tends to think that she needs help when she didn't. Shaking her head, Eile decided to get her 'weapons' out.

"Time for a class change. Class Roulette!" Eile muttered.

A glow surrounded Eile as 9 cards 5 times the size of her surround her.
Eile jumped forward and smashed two cards at random. The light faded as her trusted Devil Slayer appeared in her hands as two Sig Sauser appeared on her hips.

"Looks like it's warrior and ranger eh." Eile muttered as she walked to the front of the ship. She had enough time to see a girl with puppets before the ship landed harshly.

Not missing a beat, Eile rushed out of the ship and started to hack at the shades, making sure to keep a big distance away from the other fighters.

---Jack Miezer----
Standing on top of a building in Eureka town, the battle scarred cyborg overlooked the view in front of him. Shades decided to descend on the school as the school ship started to get close to the academy. Pulling out his katana, Jack jumped off of the house and saw a girl talking to someone with a wireless headset. Jack remembered seeing her face in the school's books, but couldn't put a name to the face. Regardless his mission , as the Arma Teacher, is to get the student to the island safely. His metallic body body stood out among the flesh bodied fighters as a few fighters looked at him. Walking up to the girl with the headset, he looked upward at the headmaster's dragon before shifting his attention to her.

"What's the plan and the parameter for success?" Jack muttered to the lady.

Even his voice sound icy cold. The only evidence that the Cyborg is not amused by the whole situation.

Elaine Chevalier

With the situation already in poor showing for the first day, it would seem that the students may find some turbulence on the way down. Elaine had her own headset on her, ready to respond at moments notice. Checking from windows within the courtyard, and through maps of Eureka Island, she was studying potential paths that the students can take. It was up to her however to find the path of least resistance, even if the Student Council would have to create such a path.

"Alright Eliane, how do you suppose we get the students here safely from the other side?"

Elaine heard clearly what Stella has asked, first year of Student Council and already she was put in the hot seat, but she had learned from the best, Elaine had to not only be calm, but also sure of what she was intending to do. "The direct path to the school via Eureka Town is infested with Shades, we will have to have them take the long way through the forest towards the Courtyard." Elaine said with a slight French accent, pointing at where the airship was landing, then dragging her fingers to the nearby forest and then to the courtyard. "We need to have Zee and the Disciplinary Committee serve as escorts for the students on the way. Any first-years should refrain from fighting, they lack experience fighting these kind of enemies."

Elaine would turn around, walking over to the fountain where she picked up her twin blades, as she did so, a pair of lesser Shade jumped out behind her. "As for me, I'll wait for you in the courtyard so we can provide assistance to the students." She said, drawing one of her swords as the creature tried to take a swipe at her, only for Elaine to sidestep and slice at the creature's side. In a fluid motion, she would continue, stabbing the other Shade that was going to lunge at her as well. After dispatching the last scout, Elaine heard the buzzing noises of a Shade Dropship flying overhead. "Ms. Stella, I believe we should hurry, I fear those dropships are headed for the where the airship is supposed to land." She said, sheathing her sword and tapping her feet.

This was all too easy; though Ophelia had to admit it was significantly better than the usual schedule of classes. Being a member of the DisCom helped too, for she had a reason to be involved in this fight. Now the only issue was the difficulty. These shades lacked creativity, apparently. No one shade differed from another in the way it approached. It simplified the situation so much that there was hardly a challenge in dealing with these monsters. Only the first years seem to have problems, likely due to their lack of combat experience.

Which was why Ophelia was here. Breaking into a run, she made for the shades moving towards the transport ships. As she approached, she could already see how the shades would react. First, it would growl - they all do. Then without fail, it would pounce at its prey with inhuman strength with a killer intent. Unfortunately for it, Ophelia was no prey. As the shade pounced, she simply faced her palm to the shade and created a magical outburst. The force nullified the pounce and stunned the monster. All Ophelia had to do was to follow up with a slash that would decapitate the foul beast.

This strategy was done to death by the time Ophelia managed to clear the wave of shades that she had charged. Yet more were pouring from Dropships that came from somewhere. With a frustrated sigh, Ophelia began running towards the transport ship hoping to focus more on the evacuation effort. This, she supposed, was where the challenge laid. While many of the first-years had chosen to take up arms and make the run for Eureka Town, there were a few that were too stubborn to go out of the 'safety' of the transport ship. Too stubborn and weak. The shades were easily breaking through whatever defensive stances they adopted to protect themselves.

Suddenly the battle became extremely difficult as she had to ensure that no one was harmed. "Go towards Eureka Town! Follow the group, I'll hold them back," she shouted, now annoyed at the first years.

OOC: OMFG! My L key broke halfway through the post >.<

Escaflowen Zraith

"We need to have Zee and the Disciplinary Committee serve as escorts for the students on the way. Any first-years should refrain from fighting, they lack experience fighting these kind of enemies."

Did i hear my name?

Through the earpiece, Escaflowne made herself known to her fellow StuCo members. Like all of her colleagues, Escaflowne made sure to arrive on the island earlier than the rest, as per traditions. That and there was duties and things to do. In their current situation, that duty would be to ensure the students get to the school relatively unscathed. Relative was the operative word. The entire island is a battlefield right now and getting a scrape here or there wouldnt be surprising. Already, Escaflowne was blazing through the rooftops before she lept off and slammed onto the ground in the courtyard. Time to work

Alrighty Mademoiselle Commandant. The forest right? I'll work my way to the docks then and meet up with them

Escaflowne approached the forest pathway at the speed of a sunday stroll. Two scout Shades have already appeared, surveying around the empty courtyard. Without even taking a break, Niidai lazily slid out of its sheathe, dancing around in Escaflowne's finger, before it was swung quickly in a downward slash across the dome of the Shade's head. The second scout charged and was summarily dispatched in a single stroke with a flick of the wrist, turning the blade 90 degrees before it flew sideways, slicing off the top half of the Shade's head. The plan to take the forest path seemed rather solid. These Shades would priorities what they think is the main pathway, through the town. If the bulk of the students took the forest, what little force the Shades had in here was going to be stuck between a highly effective army of Academy students...... and herself.

Ha! We'll crush them like a nutcracker.

The solitary figure slowly disappeared into the dense green foliage, making the short, but most likely violent, journey to her school mates

Delijah Fei

Things were going crazy. Delijah was waiting at the main docks when the shit hit the fan. Shades upon Shades rain down onto Eureka and the platform. The sky was infested with the black buggers. Only a few minutes ago, she was sitting by herself on the small fountain to the side. To be more exact, her comrade Ophelia was there too, but Delijah casually sat off alone and pretended to wait by herself. Instead, what she did was take this small me time to unpack the sweet bun she had saved on the trip over when one rather large Shade landed right beside her. The sudden jolt of such a heavy object slamming into the ground shocked and threw the much more diminutive Delijaha a centimeter up. The main issue was that that resulted in her bun slipping from her grasp. In slow motion, the bun flipped end over end in front of her eyes and as if salt to wound, it, with a resounding flop, landed jelly side down on the ground.

Noooooooooooooooo! My BUUUUUN!

Her small hands shot to her cheeks in utter shock and her body swayed as if it was about to collapse at any moment. At the last moment as Delijah tottered backwards, her arms tightened up and her eyes shot wide open... with a large royal blue flame flaring above her left eye. Like a snake, Yatagarasu swung from its resting position besides Delijah and hammered the large Shade in the head. The shock stunned the beast, but without a second of respite, Delijah went at it like a berserker, raining brutish blows over and over into its black body until it dissipated into black mist. Her rage was still burning uncontrollably, so she instead moved onto the other Shades that have begun to land.

By the time the ship arrived, Delijah was swinging like crazy in the middle of the dock and Ophelia was also getting into the thick of killing Shades. There was a clear no man's land the radius of Delijah's spear around the girl. Any Shade that stepped within her range got its foot cut off. As the other students begin to pour out from the ship, the circle soon broke. The battle cries of the students ramped up the commotion of the fight, but many could have sworn they heard Delijah's own war cry as something like "My bun!"

Hanzel Adolfine Von Marseille

The young blonde girl was snoozing so very soundly. So much so that there was a bit of drool coming from the side of her mouth... and that she missed the commotion on the ship as they approached Eureka. Only the voice of Nurse Milly pulled Hanzel from the depths of her dream and even then, she was still rather drowzy. All she knew was that everyone were running around panicing.... as if the ship was going down or something.

Haha. Whats going on? The ship's crashing hehehe? Wait....

Hanzel chuckled to herself at the joke until it dawned on her that it could potentially be happening.

OH MY GOD! THE SHIP'S CRASHING?!

She shot to her feet so fast that her momentum knocked her into someone that ran by. Said someone was obviously much bigger as Hanzel bounced off their chest and dropped her glasses. Said glasses was also subsequently kicked around by people running around.

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! You can't be serious!

Hanzel dropped to her knees and crawled after her frames, squeezing and going through legs before a harsh thud threw her off balance. Her glasses landed straight on her chest, which was good, but instead, people were pouring off the ship without real order. It was odd. Usually, the students weren't this excited about going to school. Putting ehr glasses on, Hanzel peered over the side railing and was met with a shocking sight. Delijah Fei was standing in the midst of a colossal fight with Shades and students were pouring off the ship as if it was D Day. The sound of battle finally drilled through her drowsiness and Hanzel finally got the message. Arma students front and center into the fight. Instantly, Hanzel turned around and marched backwards before a burly boy grabbed her arm.

Hey! Thats an Arma armband on your arm! Get to the fight!

With surprising strength, Hanzel shook him off with ease and took off upwards.

Sieghild! Sieghild! I need you now!

To her side of her face, a small screen emerged with a
serious looking woman inside the frame.

I read you loud and clear Ma'am. Give me a few minutes to calibrate the virtualiser...

No time! I need my guns. Tier IV!

Hanzel pulled her wallet out, all ready to complete the transaction, but Sieghild hit her with a rather nasty surprise.

Ma'am, we cannot send you a large portion of your gear. We need to calibrate first, otherwise we could be dropping it off god knows where.... oh. That and you aren't authorised anything above Tier II. Your father's orders after the last fiasco.

Alcapuco was NOT MY FAULT! It was the stupid mutt and that stupid rich boy! He was asking for it! Can i get my lance at the very least?

Negative ma'am. I think all we can do right now is.... the M-29

Argh! Ok. OK. That then.

Roger. Flugel. Send Ms Von Marseille the M-29!

Haaaaaaaaiiii~~~~ gun incoming!

The cute AI was a complete contrast to the perpetual frowner Ms Sieghild. However, as quick as can be, the rifle began to materialise in her hand and by then, Hanzel had booted open the door to the roof of the ship and slid into a crouching shooting position with the railing as a rest.

Alright. Everything is still calibrated. Lets get started

As soon as she flicked the safety off, the shots echoed throughout the docks as bullets flew at hypersonic speed into the Shades. The burst rifle began picking off targets in larger bunchs, thinning them out for her friends down below, but after a minute, she drew the attention of a few flying Shades. A lone sniper was a juicy target and they began diving bombing for her. It took Hanzel her all to keep them at bay, shooting them out of the sky, but it was a lost cause. It was either stand there and get pecked to death or do what sharpshooters would never do, get straight into the middle of a fight. Planting her feet onto the railing, Hanzel launched herself from the roof of the ship and aimed straight for a bunch of Shades as cushion. Even if she was only 46 kg, she still held a fair bit of force as she slammed into the Shade. Unfortunately, she also slammed into a human. One specific human. Delijah.

Are you crazy Haznel Von Marseille?! What are you thinking!?

Quiet you! I didn't do it on purpose!

Oh yea!?

Yea!

Both glared at each other before Delijah swung at Haznel's head and Hanzel pulled her Misriah pistol on her and shot. The Shade behind Hanzel had its head skewered and the one behind Delijah was now missing its head.

We'll deal with this after we mop this up, you hear!?

Fine by me!

The duo returned to keeping the Shades off their back with Delijah forcing them to keep their distance and Hanzel popping them in the head with the M-29

Flick Romaas

"All Arma students be ready and armed! Magia be ready to support and Dominus stay with either depending on your situation! The headmaster says as soon as we land we'll meet opposing forces until we make it to the academy I want a tight combat formation!"

First words Flick heard as he looked at the shore of the Eueka academy. Flick saw the hordes of monsters on the island and wondered what had happened.

Flick had no time to wonder though, he ran up to the front of the ship and spoke into the intercom "All Magi students, let the Arma students off first, and them give them support as needed. All First year Magi students on me! we will get you to safety, just remain calm and listen to any of the upper classman."

Flick waited for the Magi student's first years to get to the front of the ship with him. "Now I don't know how much training you all have, but don't get over confident out there, your main task is to support in what means you can, if you find anyone that is injured, bring them to me and I will heal them, other than that I want you all to support the Arma students as much as possible, make sure that every Arma student is supported, and do not over use your spells, or hit any Student by accident!"

As Flick finished his speech the ship crashed onto the shore. "Stay calm and get ready to fight!" Flick said as he whipped out his book and began to summon his wolf by his side.

Jack Miezer

An enemy drop ship descended on the battlefield and started dropping more shades off. Sighing, the Cyborg looked at the lady.

"Stay here and keep this area clear." Jack muttered as he rushed towards the battlefield.

The battle was fully underway and while the students were in formation, the sheer number of shades was far superior to the number in students. Jack decided to remedy that problem.

"Savor your last breath!" Jack yelled out loud enough for everyone to hear.

With that, the cyborg rushed into the battle, slicing and dicing each and every shade that attacked. He didn't bother to even defend since most of the shades can't even get past the metal portion of his body. Soon enough, Jack got the attention of a very large portion of the attacking shades due to the sheer number he mowed down himself. He took up position before sheathing his sword. The daggers ejected itself before being grabbed by his foot. With that, Jack started to kick at each shade with precision. It didn't faze him until he saw the Arma students. Sheathing his daggers and pulling out his Katana, Jack called out to the arma students.

"Arma students, get behind me. I will clear a path to the town. Do not let them get behind you." the white skinned cyborg commanded as he focused his attention on the incoming shade horde.

---Eile Mires---

The shade horde lessened around Eile as the shades started paying attention to some guy in white, who was cutting them down by the dozens. To this, she was thankful as it was getting harder to keep them off of her. Putting her Devil Slayer away, the green clothed girl pulled out her sig sauser and started to gun the shades down. Thankfully, it only took a bullet to kill them as Eile quickly made her way towards the town. A few shades got in the way as Eile decided to class change.

"Class Roulette!" Eile cried out.

The Devil slayer and her guns disappeared as she smashed 2 random cards. Her Sig sausers came back as a waist bag appeared around her waist. Wasting no more time, Eile pulled out 5 fire crystals, ran and slid past the shade as she tossed the fire crystals back towards the shade she passed.

"Draft Slider!" Eile commanded as the five fire crystals then turned into five pillars of fire that burned right through the shades and towards the ship, clearing a wide path.

"Come on. Hurry up." Eile called out as she pulled out more fire crystals.

Did someone say 'bun'? Just as she heard that, Delijah joined the fray. Though it seemed she was taking it more seriously than she needed to; the bright blue flame above her eyes raged furiously as she slashed viciously, creating a near-impenetrable circle around herself. So violent was she at eradicating the Shades that even the Shades, despite their lack of strategy, were hesitating as they approached the girl. Ophelia half-smiled at the sight, as she stabbed Stellar into another shade.

Pulling out the blade, she swerved about her feet, delivering a magic-enhanced slap that stunned a Shade behind her. Almost playfully, she nick the Shade in the side. She ran under the Shade's clumsy attempt at a punch and cut halfway into the Shade's arm, running again under another attempt at a punch. Finally, she delivered a killing blow to the beast's neck, dissipating it into a cloud of blackness. Amused at her own actions, she launched herself at another Shade, and attempted another fanciful trick.

The battle was an easy one. Of that, there could be no doubt. Yet the numbers were still large enough that evacuating the first-years that were still trapped at the ship (or simply too afraid to move) were unable to make it out safely. Realizing that, Ophelia decided that they had to set their priorities right. "Delijah," Ophelia called out, slowly moving closer to Delijah. "We have to do something about moving those students to the safety of Eureka Town."

Lyra Scarlet
The trip on the airship was boring as always. The very first time she rode the ship it was somewhat fun. However, she wasn’t sure if it was because of the concept of a flying ship, or the fact that she was coming to terms with starting a new life… a life without assassinations, murders, and things of that nature. Where she came from, that was part of everyday life, and she was good at it. That’s why she was picked to come to the Academy. However, that didn’t change that she very much missed assassinations, but she was fine where she was at now.

As the ship neared the school, she looked out of the window. Her black hair flowed and flapped around as she did so. Out of her eye she could see things weren’t alright at the academy. A few black creatures were there, and they were attacking the other students. Some of the students were putting up a good fight… most were not. While Lyra had no reason to care for the students, they were part of the school, and with her title of Head of the Disciplinary Committee, there came obligations.

Without waiting for instruction, she got out of her seat, walked out of the cabin door, and up the stairs to the deck of the ship. She was immediately told by one of the workers to go back, but she paid him little mind. From the top of the ship she fired giant orbs of flame into the larger crowds of black creatures. She continued doing just that as the ship got closer and closer to the port. Her flames shot over the heads of other students. Of course, they missed them by a long shot, but others wouldn’t be too happy that she was firing over them.

The ship hit the port with a thud, but otherwise was completely safe. She jumped from the top of the ship and strode past other students. She was getting looks for a few of them. Of course, that was normal. She was wearing a black suit, wearing a bandage over her eye, and was a bit tall for a woman. It didn’t matter. There were a few other students talking. A couple of them from the Student Council and a couple of them from her own group; the Disciplinary Committee.

If they were there, then as far as she was concerned, they could look after the students while she did was she did best. She didn’t bother to say “hello”, she didn’t bother to hear their plans. Lyra simply walked past them all and fired more flames from her hands. From the look on her face, some would say she was a woman out for blood.

They would be right.

Alyss Rivece Mithrandir
Alyss was absolutely terrified as she walked off the airship. The black haired mad woman was firing off flames in every direction and there were monsters attacking. She was under the assumption that the trip back to the academy would be a safe one. The last thing she expected was to arrive during what appeared to be a full blown assault. Other students were rushing past her, or staying behind her and asking her what they should do. She was a member of the Student Council. However, she was the accountant. It wasn’t like she an important member. “I-I do not know. Just… just stay there,” was all she could manage to say.

It took absolutely every fiber of her being to step off the ship. She was terrified and it was obvious to everyone that she was. She tried to follow the one eyed woman, if she recalled correctly, she was supposed to be the head of the Disciplinary Committee… she could easily see why. However, she quickly lost sight of her. From the little bit of the surrounding area she could see, she thought she had saw a couple of the members of Student Council. It was hard to make it past the students. A few times, she could swear her hair was being grabbed.

While she was panicking, she tried to calm herself down by reciting a Chicken Alfredo recipe, “O-one pound fettuccini pasta, one a-and a half cups of b-butter… divided…” Alyss was failing miserably at calming herself down. On the other hand, she did manage to make it to the Student Council members. Better yet, a couple of other Disciplinary Committee members were there. However, as she was looking down at the ground and trying to calm herself, she hadn’t realized it.

Alyss had bumped into one of them and scared herself. Her hand stuck out and it was obvious she was ready to fire a bolt of lightning, but she quickly stopped herself. “I-I am so sorry!” Once she realized they were friends, she quickly let out a rather panicked, “what do we do?”

Phelda Stella Marx

"Ms. Stella, I believe we should hurry, I fear those dropships are headed for the where the airship is supposed to land."

Stella failed to notice the teacher who had rushed into battle. Professor Jack had seemed ready for battle.

"Sounds like a solid plan! I'll get to the docks to redirect the students." She could already feel the ache of her legs from taking the long way. "You get all that Headmaster?"

"Sounds good to me." replied the old man's voice "I'll send Belial to assist on bringing those airships down. I fear the Shade will have claimed a few lives of the foolish students who try to wander out in the fields by the time you reach there."

Stella nodded with a frown. The headmaster was right as she already could hear vicious screams of students out in the fields. Since these were a lesser form of the creatures the only real attack they had were swatting with long sharp claws. Enough of the attack had the potential to do damage. "Alrighty Zee I'll head on from the town's main gate. I'll try to get the Discom to meet you halfway if possible."

She took off, nearly avoiding the flaming debris of one of the Shade ships crashing right inside Eureka Town's gates. Headmaster Krell's dragon screamed in triumph as it flew off to take care of the remaining ship. Stella ran forward first using the Marx family ability of wind manipulation, her most recently acquired, favorited, and perfected ability. The wind around her absorbed into her polearm and as soon as she was surrounded with black humanoid Shade creatures descending from the sky she struck the ground. Like a trampoline the black creatures were blasted back upwards clearing a path for her.

It took twenty minutes of jogging to make it to the docks where the student lines were keeping steady. Nurse Milly looked fierce with a shotgun in one hand and a cigarette lighter in the other ordering commands to students. "Now what was her name again?" Stella mumbled to herself.

She had no time to keep the others waiting. She'd only known them for a few brief moments but Eliane sounded tactically wise enough to take out any enemy across her path and Escaflowne seemed powerful enough to fend the creatures off. Not just anybody made it to the Student Council. This was a school for warriors. "Lyra? Is there a Lyra here?"

She could barely hear any response over the loud ratata of guns,
whoosh wooshings
of spells and incantations, and the pings and rings of steel blades. "Student Disciplinary Committee?" she called in the chaos. "Disciplinary committee members! The battle plan is to take the forest road to the courtyard. First years off the battlefield."

A few teachers seemed to hear and recognize her. It would be a matter of time before all of the students were on the forest path.

“…Fun…”

+Of course he’d be the last to the party. All the rest of his little “Society” was female- and chivalry denotes to ‘let ladies go first’... Or was that chauvinistic thinking? Whatever, Lukas couldn’t care less. It was about time to get this shit on the road. With the stereotypical badass sigh, crack of neck and uncaring face, Lukas charged towards what could be considered a ‘port’ without hesitation. His heart barely raced, as Lukas released his sword from its sheath. He’d already nominated himself for a little crowd control- He’d head into some Shades, and then annihilate. Simple, easy and time saving. He’d reached the end of that lonesome path before he even considered what to do! +

+How would he get into such a gang? For a group of around four rows of five, Innovation was the key indeed, as Lukas took on his false smile. A short inhale, the hint of acceleration, then… LEAP! Lukas jumped about five feet in the air, then-instantly, as his hands lit a deep purple colour- his body was propelled roughly twenty feet higher, and thirty feet forward-like magic! Specifically, it was gravity magic- one of Lukas’s forte’s. He enjoyed it, very much so, as he fell through the air- upon a murder of Shades like Death from Above. Just like it. His right, free, hand lit that familiar purple colour while his left was engrossed by a whitish-blue aura. With a click of his right fingers, the gravity lessen by five times-easing the stress on Lukas’s landing. Of course, that really didn’t matter. +

+For-as Lukas hit the ground- he spun clockwise, instigating his first attack. His sword slashed the most immediate foes directly through the torso-bisecting them- while an electro wave spread out and struck the next two rows of enemies- the attack fried the first, and stunned the second. Then, his Coup de grâce. His hands lit the purple colour again, and… PHOOMMMM! The murder was no more, as his gravity push flung the un-wounded roughly five metres away from their standing position, and onto their asses. As such, Lukas alone was still standing- that stupid hint of a smile still acting upon his maw. Yet, his eyes seemed blank, cold in their stare at the dead bodies…How glorious they were indeed. +

“…The DISCO gang arrives, to save the day…”

+The sarcasm was strong with this one, as Lukas called to his fellow committee chairs in the nearby area. With that quip, he headed forward. Lukas was going directly to the ship- escorting was his part-time job after all. In his full-steam ahead charge-with a dragged sword behind- Lukas beheaded one of the knocked down shades with ease. A forebodingly sinister, inaudible mutter followed this: +

“…Let’s hope some of these snot-nosed little pricks get ripped apart… The less of ‘em, the better...”

"Disciplinary committee members! The battle plan is to take the forest road to the courtyard. First years off the battlefield."

“…Right…Understood.”

+ Pity the school faculty took that fun away. A quick reply, but Lukas continued his charge forward. Duty called, and he answered.+

Lyra Scarlet
Lyra heard her name being called off in the distance. Of course, she wasn’t in any right condition to answer at that particular moment. She was far too busy lobbying fireballs off of the faces of the black creatures in front of her. They had rather nasty looking claws, but that was about it. They seemed to be devoid of most if not all combat skill. Killing them was supposed to be fun, but at the rate things were going, it was becoming a chore. With her outstretched hand she fired upon a few more of the creatures to push them back and started walked towards the forest path.

She was quite clear that she heard someone call the entire committee there. No one would order that unless they had the permissions. It didn’t take much to figure it had to be someone important. Without waiting any further, she ran to the forest path. Students were already heading up there. Which was rather smart, but… it was essentially escort duty in Lyra’s mind. However, the battlefield was a mess. Making sure she was clear of the trees, she fired a huge pillar of flames from her hand into the sky. It would give everyone her location. “Disciplinary Committee, get over to me NOW or you will have ME to answer to!” Simple, to the point, and somewhat threatening… there wasn’t a more efficient way of handling that.

For a few moments, she looked around to make sure the students were on the way. Things were far to chaotic at the moment. People were running everywhere and she hardly recognized any faces. Brushing her hand through her hair she waited for her team to form up as she stayed on the lookout for anymore of those creatures.

Almost as soon as she spoke to Delijah, orders were passed down from goodness knows who. "Disciplinary committee members! The battle plan is to take the forest road to the courtyard. First years off the battlefield." Always good to hear someone taking charge. While making short work of another unfortunate Shade, Ophelia thought back to her earlier years in the school where her initial goal was to become the head of the Disciplinary Committee as did the previous Head during her time. It later changed when she realized the responsibilities that came with being a leader. Leadership was a scary thing; having to speak with people, command them. She just didn't feel herself in that role. She was the obedient sort, in a sense, one who preferred to be ordered about.

As weak as that seemed, it gave her strength. A sense of purpose.

Disciplinary Committee, get over to me NOW or you will have ME to answer to!"

The new voice shocked her enough that she missed an attack on a Shade. Resorting to a blast from her hands to stun the Shade again, she quickly sliced through its legs, leaving it to die a slow and painful death before hurrying to the DisCom head. There was no remorse for this cruel execution; it was either her or that beast. Lyra, her leader, is a scary woman. Ever since she became acquainted to the lady, she had never gotten any positive vibes from the person. Granted, it was nice that someone shared her penchant for making strictly logical decisions (without consideration for emotions). But that's where the niceness ends.

Better to be efficient and effective than to risk testing the truth of Lyra's threats; at least, that was how she had been in the DisCom. Admittedly, that also meant she never got to know Lyra as a person though to be fair, Lyra didn't seem any more interested than she was. That worked for her.

Escaflowne Zraith

Despite the heavy presence of Shades at the docks and at the town, there weren't too many inside the forest. It just meant that Eliane's plan was going to run really smoothly and that the Shades are really that dumb and believed the Academy would have forced their way through the town. Besides the occasional scouts that were scooting about, there was nothing really for her to take out. From where she was, the fighting was all but a mumble, the sound unable to punch cleanly through the dense forest. In fact, it was actually rather soothing, with the sunlight flickering here and there.

Is there genuinely no enemies around here?

If this was it, there was no need for her to clear out the forest. Any fleeing students can stomp the weak shades with ease. The school is for warriors after all. Just as she was about to take off faster towards the main area of carnage, a dark shape caught her eye. It was big and it probably explained why there were so little Shades around. It was because there was one ginormous Shade meandering about inside the shrubbery. From what she could tell, it was at the very least, mindless as it squashed the smaller scouts without even hesitating, as if it wasnt even there. Escaflowne licked her lip with a slasher smile, drew Daiichi before springing onto the tree branches and stabbing straight into its back. The beast roared in annoyance and clawed at her, but it was too slow. Escaflowne had withdrew her blade and bounded off it, facing her opponent front on.

let's tango shall we?

Delijah Fei and Hanzel Von Marseille

"We have to do something about moving those students to the safety of Eureka Town."

I'll.... get to it..... once im kinda.... done.... here....

It was becoming more and more hectic. With more and more students pouring off the barge, the battle was becoming muddied as students and Shades infiltrated each others lines. The entire dock resembled a disorganised medieval battlefield. To make matters worse, she had to keep back to back with little miss Blondie down below.

Hey! Can't you get something a bit more useful? Whoever heard of using a damn sniper rifle in the midst of a battlefield? You stupid or something?

Sh... shut up! Its not my fault! Less talking more slashing! You're letting htem through you dummkof!

As much as she hated to admit it, a few were beginning to get a bit bold. She was guessing that they at least had enough intelligence to prioritise higher threat targets, which explained why they were converging so heavily on herself, Hanzel and Ophelia.

I think we may need to get back into the lines of students....

Disciplinary Committee, get over to me NOW or you will have ME to answer to!”

Well...now its a must. Orders have come down. We're retreating from this spot.

Hanzel could tell from the tone of her voice that Delijah was in serious mode. Retreat meant breaking formation and piss bolting back. It was also unspoken between the two that that meant Delijah would let Hanzel go first. After all, she was the ranged expert and she wouldn't fair too well in close combat without her lance.

Ready.... mark!

Hanzel stood and ran for it, her arms pumping. Misriah in hand, she turned and was about to give some covering fire when she saw Delijah neck and neck with her.

What the heck! You're meant to be there buying me some time! Thats what we always do you!

Quiet you! You haven't worked with Ms Scarlet before!

........ chicken.....

A single vein popped up on Delijah's forehead at Hanzel's comment. Her lips twitched in an annoyed smile at her comrade and in an equally flat tone, replied

Hahaha.... i hope your butt gets scorched... Hanz.....

This time, it was Hanzel's turn to become indignant. Both girls locked foreheads as they ran, shooting daggers and lightning from there eyes at each other

You... you... YOU get your butt scorched... you... you petta loli (flat chested loli)!

Both girls growled at each other before they split and went different ways. There was time later to get even with Hanzel. Since they were back within the lines of the students, Delijah was satisfied that she could leave Hanzel without worrying. Instead, she had to go to Ms Scarlet first. It wasn't hard to spot her, especially after that huge pillar of fire and it wasn't long that Delijah spotted the bandaged face of their leader. Delijah made for a beeline straight for Lyra before she ran smack bang into a girl

Ouchie! Are you alright?!

“I-I am so sorry!”

The girl seemed really jittery and she seemed like she almost sent an attack her way, but just managed to hold back. Instead, she asked her what to do.

what do we do?”

Delijah didnt really know as she was to just meet up with Ms Scarlet. However, the girl did look familiar and it took Delijah an extra few seconds to recognise the girl as one of the StuCo members, Ms Alyss Mithrandir. Instantly, she snapped at attnetion

Ma'am! Sorry for bowling you over! Are you okay? I am unsure besdies meeting up with my leader. Is there any orders you wish to give to me

On the other side, Hanzel was grumbling about her "rival", but she needed to get to a new vantage point in order to use her rifle to its maximum. An elevated position with overhead cover was optimal. Those flying shades was what forced her from her previous perch, so one that covered her top was good.

OOooooo. That girl does annoy me sometimes....

Hanzel continued to be grumpy as she approached Nurse Milly. The good nurse was blasting away with a shotgun. It was probably best to be nearby a teacher. As she appraoched towards Nurse Milly, one rather large Shade bowled the small girl over, pinning her to the floor. Hanzel had to keep the thing off her with the M-29. Her Misriah was trapped under her own and the monster's weight and she couldnt spare the strength to let go of one hand. She needed help.

Jack Miezer

"Arma students, loose circle formation. Dominus students on the inside with the magica students behind them. Move as one. Arma, cut a path! Dominus, anything that gets past the Arma students stops with you. Magica, cast as many spells as you can. Now move!" Jack yelled as he looked around pointing the path to the town. His gaze went over to a large shade over ... A STUDENT!

Jack jumped over a few shades as he rushed over to the student. This student has a gun out and was doing everything she can just to stay alive. Electricity started crackling as the cyborg disregarded all sense of defense.

"Flash Storm." Jack calmly stated before rushing up to the large shade and started slashing through the shade.

One slash became two and two quickly became four as Jack sped his slashing up. To the girl on the ground, it would look like that the shade was slowly falling apart into oddly cut pieces of pizzas. Soon enough, Jack reached 39 slices before winding up.

"40!" Jack muttered as he sliced the shade, sending all parts of said shade spilling over the girl.

Looking at said girl, he noticed the arma armband before offering a hand.

"Get up. You will not die on my watch. What's your name?" Jack muttered with all the authority of his station.

---Eile Mires--- Current Class: Ranger/Alchemist

The green haired girl managed to reach the forest under her own power as she took the time to catch her breath. Due to her clothing, it made it really easy to blend in.

"I hope I'm going the right way." Eile muttered as she noticed a shuffling to her right.

Eile peered through the bushes and saw a shade large enough to stomp her. Before she had a chance to pull out a crystal, a girl bolted out of the bushes and stabbed it in the back. A loud roar was heard as said girl jumped off of it's back and landed, preparing to fight.

"That thing will kill her. No time to think about working solo." Eile muttered as she pulled out 5 water crystals and threw them at the shade. The crystals morphed into 5 large compressed water balls as it slammed into the shade's back, causing it to roar again.

Exiting the bushes, Eile pulled out one of her Sig sauser and three fire crystals as she smiled before calling out to the girl she saw.

"Looks like you can use some help. Let's get this party started."

OOC: If I might ask Tipsy, how you broke the L button typing? XD

Elaine Chevalier

With the bulk of the shades focusing on the docks and Eureka Town, Elaine was sure they were attempting to the put the Academy itself under siege, but they were too weak and too few of them landed safely enough to actually put up an effective siege. Figuring the courtyard would be safe from attack for now, Elaine would run down the very forest path, one hand on one of her swords as she quickly made a dash for the docks. She also stayed on the lookout for any Shades as well that might be lurking in the forest. Although there wasn't too much of a danger traveling in the forest compared to the usual cobblestone-lined path that was open to attack, she had to be sure that there were no danger to the students.

Hearing the sounds of bullets firing, infernos ablaze and panicked yelling meant that Elaine was close to the battleground, and it made the Gallican female run faster, making her way through the forest before seeing Zee tangle with god knows what the Shades had lurking in the forest. It seemed that she was going to have her hands full and was prepping to intervene, but it seemed that she was not the only one who thought that way as 5 blasts of high-speed water balls shot onto the shade's back, with a green haired female walking out of the bushes as calm as a cucumber.

Elaine smirked a little as she drew her twin swords Apulia and Calabria as she started to focus, imbuing it with ice energy before jumping overhead and landing beside the two ladies. "Not one to barge in, but I did hear a party." Elaine said in a nonchalant tone looking at the beast impeding them. "Let's just take this thing down, no showing off."

Headmaster Krell

"You've got to be kidding me!"

"Does this mean you won't go to the dance with me this evening?" Krell couldn't help but force a smirk.

Nurse Milly's response through his radio was hesitant. He could hear the blast of a shotgun firing repeatedly. "I could let go you luring the creatures here as a test but it depends on the amount of students who wind up in my damn infirmary."

"I doubt we'll have to worry about those students. If they can't learn to fight a mere lesser Shade creature they don't belong here, especially after being here once before. I understand many homes have been lost but this academy is not an orphanage."

"You can be a real jackass sometimes old man." she responded.

Krell chuckled peering outside of the window. She was at least forty to fifty years older than he all appearances aside. "This is just a simple test. We'll see which ones belong and which ones do not."

The fire of the last Shade drop ship illuminated his office with it's light. Belial had done it's job well. Krell watched as the dragon flew through a brief circular gate back into the dimension from whence it came. The last ship of the shade began a slow decent down onto the island. It drifted slowly but steadily to the courtyard. Upon seeing the black creature within Krell's eyes flashed. This Shade was different from the rest. It looked more human, only it's nude black form was packed with muscle thick as steel. It stood at least twenty feet and it clung to the falling ship like a toddler on a wooden horse. He'd fought it's kind before.

"Perhaps that one will help me see which students will be the potential stars of this show."

"Ah Belial left the students a surprise? Shame I won't get to see it since I'll be covering the lazy asses of these kids. Hurry up MOVE! What do you mean you're scared? So what! Get off your lazy-" The radio switch was flicked off.

He left his office window and headed for the academy rooftop.

Phelda Stella Marx

Stella could see Lyra now. It had taken her a full five minutes but she spotted the girl for the first time. She wore an eye patch. Looked tough enough. "You first years, follow me." She pointed at a few of the nervous kids who'd stopped fighting n her commands.

Teachers began escorting crowds of students through the forest path. The sShade numbers seemed to be weakening a small bit around the docks. The group looked like it contained three Magia students, two Dominus and five Arma's. The troupe were obedient enough and followed. "Keep on me- Hey Hey! Wait here a bit!"

She'd finally spotted Alyss throughout the chaos. "Alyss! Why do you look so...?" she couldn't find the words to finish her sentence lest she insult the girl. "Never mind."

In an instant a Disciplinary member had smacked into Alyss head on. As much as she wanted to yell at the Discom member she could see that Alyss was a long way off from effectiely participating as it is. Delijah had begun conversation with her as well.

Ma'am! Sorry for bowling you over! Are you okay? I am unsure besdies meeting up with my leader. Is there any orders you wish to give to me.

Stella cleared her throat, very unconvincingly as she choked a bit afterward, and spoke up herself. "Actually the orders are to escort first years to the school through the forest path. Just follow the others, although I think it would do some good for you to escort Alyss as well. Hurry to the courtyard asap with her and any students left around."

Stella's brain was scattered. She didn't know if this was the right thing to say or command. She was just repeating Eliane, and with a small sigh she wished Eliane were here to make the call to all of these students. Stella's voice wasn't anywhere near authoritative and her plans weren't always the best. "I'll be headed up through the forest to the courtyard. You should do the same Alyss. And maybe take a quick sip from the lake to get you focused."

Stella didn't know how the girl would hold up, or if she didn't mind the salty lake water but she wanted to check back. Most of the students were off the ship now and many of them in groups or solo were headed into the woods for refuge. Many of the Shade creatures saw this and took it as an opportunity to rush there as well. "Alright Eliane Some students should be headed your way." she spoke through the headset before hearing a loud earth shaking explosion in the sky.

The island's ground felt as if it shook a little bit. Stella looked toward the sky behind her as she climbed aboard the airship to search for more students. "Eliane! Are you still in the courtyard?"

Her eyes widened at the large creature tagging along on the back of the ship.

Maeinardi Reyes

"Cut, slice cut!" Maei sang as she took down shade after shade.

She walked calmly through the forest trees while others ran screaming, commanding, shouting, and sweating. She couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. "Mopsy who do you think our room mate will be this year?" she asked.

"Will you just focus girlie! Above!"

Maeis blade swung upward after the husky voice escape her lips. Another lesser shade taken care of. She walked the main path carelessly and enjoyed the views of nature. The courtyard loomed up ahead and a boy with a red sweater vest nearly pushed her aside to get through. "Hey that's not nice!" She remarked angrily running after him.

She had just enough time to see him fly fast into the courtyard fountain. Maei wasn't sure if the sound she heard was his body or the fountain's cement breaking. There were many bodies. Student bodies lying all around the courtyard. The only thing moving was a large black beast. It was a Shade and it towered over her with it's bulging muscle. Maei stepped back a bit as it spotted her. She was terrified. "What is that thing?" she asked.

She held her curved blue blade backwards, readying her fighting stance. She could not survive this fight alone.

Lyra Scarlet
Some people tend to get angry when they stub their toe. For most people, watching someone get angry could be a bit sad to see. Whenever Lyra got angry, however, it was akin to watching a bomb go off. Once she felt her body temperature drop from the pillar of flame she put out, she was officially pissed off. Her members had plenty of time to get to her. Lyra, by all means, was not pleased in the slightest. The pillar of flame went down as she started getting ready to fire lightning from her hands at any enemy on sight. If she hit them in the head, they would drop instantly.

With her hand outstretched, she fired upon a few of them. The bolts of lightning ripped through the air and cracked loudly. The sound being so loud that it drowned out the noise of just about everything else around them all. There was a pause as a few of them stopped moving. In the distance, she could see a few DisCo members as well as a few Student Council members. They were nearby, and for Lyra, that was close enough. “Quit talking amongst yourselves and get to killing things! If there is one fucking scratch on any of these students, HEADS WILL ROLL. Don’t think for a damn second that you cannot be replaced; you very well can.”

Harsh language or no, she wasn’t going to let anyone make her look bad on the first day. Two of her members were close by; one was nowhere to be seen. That one will be punished, Lyra thought. She wasn’t really going to have someone’s head. However, she would make them want to hand it over on a pike of their own choosing. She fired another bolt of lightning that cracked and boomed through the air into the head of another Shade. Electricity started crackling around her own body. It was clear to everyone nearby that she wasn’t pleased in the slightest.

She laughed for a few seconds as she killed a few more that were nearing students. “Light them up! Burn them! I don’t want to see a single one of them alive! Death to all that oppose us!

Alyss Rivece Mithrandir
Alyss looked a bit confused as to why the girl was apologizing to her when Alyss clearly bumped into the girl. “I-I… no, I d-do not have any orders…” Before she could say anything else, Phelda seemed to magically show up next to her. “Alyss! Why do you look so… Never mind.” Alyss tilted her head at the statement. She wasn’t sure what she was going to say. While she was still panicked, she was glad to see that Ms. Phelda was there; she would know what to do. She quickly gave the DisCo member orders. “Actually the orders are to escort first years to the school through the forest path. Just follow the others, although I think it would do some good for you to escort Alyss as well. Hurry to the courtyard asap with her and any students left around.”

She wanted to say that she was fine. Now that they were there, she wasn’t alone to deal with things by herself. However, Stella continued, “I’ll be headed up through the forest to the courtyard. You should do the same, Alyss. And maybe take a quick sip from the lake to get you focused.” Suddenly, Alyss felt rather useless. She wasn’t expecting anything like this to happen on her first day back. “I-I… very well.” She would go without a fight. Before she could do anything, however, a loud crack of lightning boomed through the sky. For an Elf with sensitive ears… it hurt. She looked around to see where the noise came from; it was that one-eyed woman from before.

That woman terrified Alyss. She looked to her right at the other DisCo member. She didn’t want to be away from her at all at that moment.

So it seemed her leader cared less about giving specific orders. Ophelia almost scoffed at Lyra's newest orders as she heard it, and had only just managed to put on a straight face. Nodding to acknowledge the new orders, she took off after the nearest Shade she spotted, ignoring the nearby Student Council members. With Lyra close by, even the shade felt like better company. Simply put, Ophelia was loathe to be under Lyra's leadership. Or maybe the previous DisCom head had set a standard that was far too high, far too unreachable. That overflowing, immense charisma... That kindly demeanor.Well, maybe Lyra did have some form of charisma, as coercive as it may be, but kindly demeanor? A definite no.

Gripping Stellar by the grip tightly, she tossed the blade at an incoming Shade, leaping forward with the boost of a magical explosion at her feet and grabbed the blade that had just lodged itself in the monstrosity. Pulling out the blade, she booted the dissipating shade aside before moving on to yet another boring shade. In her mind, it was no longer about killing the Shades or saving anyone, as she initially thought. As logical as she would like to be, Lyra wasn't a person she enjoyed staying around for long. For better or for worse, she decided to firmly obey the orders. No student shall be hurt under her watch.

Which, of course, meant she had to break off from the group to ensure there weren't any left behind. To this end, the forest seemed like the best place to be. Behind her, Lyra was even laughing as the cackling bolts of lightning struck down several more unfortunate Shades. Look, even the Shades seemed pitiful to her when it was Lyra doing the killing. Ophelia sighed as she made her way into the forest. She didn't hesitate with her movements, hoping to get further from the group than to actually clear a path. She usually wasn't this irresponsible; well, not when things were less ambiguous than they were at the moment.

Thankfully, as she went through the forest, there were no students that were injured or required immediate assistance. Most were able to last long enough for Ophelia to appear beside them in battle. By then, their survival was a certainty. She gathered these survivors and had them form a group together and to move as one behind her. However, in the time she took to do this, she realized the rest of the DisCom would be catching up. "In a few moments, the rest of the DisCom and some StuCo will be coming through here. Hold your ground till they do. I will be moving up ahead to make sure no one else is hurt."

Her words sounded noble. The students were nodding with looks of respect in their faces as Ophelia departed. If they knew her true purpose was to escape Lyra's presence, what sort of expression would they have? Nevertheless, Ophelia made for the courtyard with great haste. She was just in time to see a massively muscular Shade tower over a girl, probably a first-year. This shade was unlike the others she had encountered earlier, which were mostly thin and frail (pathetic). No doubt, more dangerous too, going by the numerous bodies that laid scattered about.

Which sent a great chill creep up her spine - not because of fear of the monster, but of the simple thought: what would Lyra think? Hopefully it won't involve blaming her for it and punishing her. Either way, there was still an unharmed student ahead. She would do well to keep this one around at least, not just to save her life, but to save her own as well. A witness to ensure her innocence would be beneficial. Running up ahead, she joined the girl with the curved blade backwards. Not sure if it was the girl's style, or some blatant ignorance of a first-year.

Whatever it is, it didn't matter. So long she kept the heat off that girl, maybe even take down the monster before anyone arrived. Though, looking at the muscles on the monster, she wasn't sure she can defeat the monster quickly enough. Maybe she'll need the help of the first year after all.

The first-year herself looked to be somewhat imposing with her height and all. Well, except for her rather youthful appearance. Probably her age or something. "Let's team up," she said, and hesitating, she added. "Not sure about your style, but your blade's held backwards."

Then, without waiting for an answer lest it gets awkward, she leaps ahead at the Shade, using her magical outburst to reach the monster's shoulders. Immediately recognizing her as a threat, it began to focus its attacks on the girl, leaving an opening for the first-year to either run or to help out. Whichever she chose, it probably won't be a priority for the monster... Or at least, Ophelia would make sure of that.

Markov Serinclex

Serin ripped the Eidolon Blade out of the last shade that had been drawn to him, more shadeflesh splattering elsewhere. Shredfang and Savageclaw were on two more. Though long dead, their shades were missing limbs and the two hellhounds were gnawing on them, yanking out bones with sickening sounds. The head of Dominus House wiped his blade clean on the flesh of recently dead Shade before sheathing it.

He had arrived several days ago, not wanting to be on the boat with the students. Ever since last semester's trip, he refused to go back. He didn't want any more of the new students sliding up to him and trying to ingratiate themselves. The older students knew better, but thought it was hilarious to see the new students punished. Inevitably he would be introduced as Dominus Head and then it started. There would be none of that this year.

Looking at his hounds, he gave a disturbing smile; they were getting better. He had come out here earlier to let them train on the woodland animals; the hellhounds were fury on a leash but they could be trained to do better. Shredfang still had a habit of going straight for the face and Savageclaw thought his spirit barrages were like toys to go fetch. He would have to teach them the time to do these sorts of things.

When Savageclaw had brought back the arm of a shade, Serin knew something was up. He had left in the early rays of dawn and wouldn't have been privy to anything after. Scouting the edges of the forest, he had seen them running around the town and outskirts. Some were going in the forest but most stayed in town. If the professors were smart, they would route the first years through the forest path to get to the academy safely - it was their best bet. He was their sleeper agent, someone who could move around in the background and take care of things. SO he had slunk back in and set his hounds to round up and start killing the shades that had ventured into the forest. He had wanted the kills to be clean but with two savage hellhounds, but those were high hopes.

One of the hounds raised its head and looked past Serin for a few seconds, the blue flame in its eyes unseeing, before it bounded off followed by the second. Their howls filled the air and were met by the matching one from the Eidolon Blade as it was unsheathed as Serin followed. As he came onto the forest path, he could see the Shade airship falling to the vicinity of the courtyard, a trail of smoke coming from it.

"Yes my pets... Find them, ravage them, shred them, KILL THEM!"

He followed his hounds through the forest up to the courtyard to see the massive shade looming over one of the students. Without hesitation, both hounds charged the shade, Shredfang heading for it's head and Savageclaw it's left arm.

"You might want to back off a bit little girl. My pets are a bit...indiscriminate in what they decide to rend."

He brough the Eidolon Blade to bear, ready to fend off an attack.

Talixion Rithe

"Not good, not good, not good, not good, not good, not good, not good," Rith muttered to himself as he ran onto the deck of the Eureka airship.

When the fighting started, he had immediately gone below deck to find his sister Amelia and make sure she was safe. Despite his haste, he could only come to the conclusion that she wasn't ont he ship anymore. Which meant one of two things: either she was fighting shades or more likely she had gone with the other first years through the forest. The latter was far more likely though he wasn't exactly sure if Amelia had had any training prior to his arrival and the following flipping of her world. By this point he could hope that she had made it out with the rest of the first years. Looking over towards the forest, he saw shades peeling off to join the hunt there. Taking off at a run, he headed towards the forest - after all he had went through, he wasn't going to lose Amelia.

It was hard to miss the dark blue and black figure running across the grass and the shades went directly after him. He saw them from the corner of his eye, his long strides keeping him well out of reach but he needed to remove them entirely. He took to the air, his wings unfurling and catching thermals in the atmosphere and taking him up several yards where he spun around to face them and hovered.

"Light upon darkened earth,
Heavenly flame divided,
Storm's wrath crashing down,
Bound by spark and blood."

The empowered chain lightning spell arced from his fingertips towards the first shade and forked off to two more as soon as it dropped. The arcs continued to split, some striking the same shade multiple times.

"That should keep them busy," he muttered as he flew off toward the forest path entrance.

He had lost valuable time catching up to the first-years by having to use that spell but he had bought them time to breathe. He landed easily at the entrance, not bothering to fly over the canopy. A number of students and staff still lingered there, presumably to hold off the continued advance.

"What's the situation down here? Are the first years at the Academy yet or are they still traipsing through shade infested forest?"

He didn't really care who answered him - he was far more concerned with Amelia.
