Hmm... I actually have not listened to much rap in my lifetime.

One of my friends had me list to a few Wu-Tang PMV's, & didn't mind them.
Though my musical tastes usually reside in classical, opera, & techno.

It is what predates anime, in nearly all scenarios.

Anime's are animated versions of the manga's.
Manga'a are usually black & white illustrations of the anime in a picture book format, with word blurbs to denote speech.

I mostly have to watch them online (as well as the times I end up reading manga), due to both of my brothers still living at home. The television is not actually available (the optical disk drive on my laptop is usually for one of my Linux installation discs).

I'd have to say... I adore Mushishi & Stein's Gate the most.
They are simply wonderful.

Of course others are enjoyable simply because they have the essential criteria (Bleach, FLCL, Coyboy Beebop, Angel Beats, etc...).

Ah, some nice vegetarian lasagna.
