  • Thanks! Sadly I haven't gotten much time to edit it lately but hopefully things are calming back down a bit for me and I can put more time into that. I'm about a third of the way through editing though, so it's progress!

For me, FFIX is where I can start to really take the game seriously based on graphics. And when I say 'take a game seriously', I'm referring to the kind of game I play last thing in the day. As time permits I play other games after work, but only for brief periods of time and not dedicated in any way. But whatever I play last thing in the day is something I'm dedicated to playing every night and completing. It's tough to get that kind of dedication out of blocky graphics and MIDI music, even if the storyline is great. Must be a suspension of disbelief thing or something. And FFIX might even be pushing it for that a little bit. PS2 games are fine, though--I'm actually playing through Persona 3 right now, which is a PS2 game. Really brilliant JRPG.
Seriously? I thought for sure I got email notifications for visitor messages before. Must have been PMs I was confusing them with, like you said.

The novel is kind of complex. It follows a woman in her mid 20s as she wakes up 300 years in the future on a crashing space ship. She has to learn how to survive on the planet it crashes on, which changes her, and then she runs across an AI that enlists her help getting rid of a virus made by a secret organization in exchange for getting her back to earth. And it gives her an implant that lets them communicate, and the AI can feed her impulses so she basically is as good as trained at everything. There's a lot of cyberpunk and spy elements to the story, and of course it gets deeper as she tries to figure out what happened to her and such. I have the first few chapters online at this link, but they're not edited at all so don't judge the final product by it ;) Hopefully I'll be able to publish next year!

I think the graphics make a bigger difference than people would like to admit with older games. I can enjoy them alright, but it's tough to go at an SNES game with the same seriousness as something more recent.
I'm not sure if ranting about others may be a good idea...:hmmm: But I'd be looking forward to watching more of your videos. The two members in question are notorious so don't worry, it's not you. ^_^
