I love the opera. It's really one of the things that makes FFVI stand out from all the others. The music is simply gorgeous, and considering it was done in 1994, the little voice simulation thing they did was pretty clever. And of course, the first time playing through way back... 13 years ago...
Yeah, I got 'em all. They're all a pretty decent challenge to get, but some are more challenging than others (I'm thinking the ones where you have to fight Wyvern and Ogopogo in particular). Totally worth it though.
1. Fighter - Awesome defence, awesome offence. Doesn't get any better than that.
2. Black Belt - Great damage dealers, but go down quickly.
3. White Mage - Useful for only two things - Life and Exit.
4. Red Mage - Good damage dealers, don't get the really useful spells though.
5. Thief -...
The GBA version is definitely more visually appealing than the SNES and PS versions, but it's got the problem of lag. Also, the translation is vastly improved in the GBA version.
It's been a while since I've played the game, but LVL 40 seems to be a bit, uh, high for that point. o.o;;
If you're looking for a place to grind, the best place to do that at any point in the game is just wherever the strongest enemies are. At that point, they'd be outside the Dwarf Castle or...
Fighter. Black mages are useless in FFI (their magic doesn't do nearly enough damage to be worth it), White mages are of limited usefulness, Monks go down too fast and Red mages and Thieves are basically subpar fighters.
I don't get why people like DK Cecil better. He's not as powerful as Paladin Cecil, his special attack does damage to him, and Paladin Cecil can heal and protect your weaker characters. And DK Cecil is useless against undead things. DK Cecil is just in no way superior.
I'm noticing a lot of people saying it's retarded to have to get license points in order to use weapons. Er, well... doesn't it make sense that you can't use a weapon until you've trained to use it? Same re: everything else on the grid.
Kefka has 62,000 hp. A Genji Glove and an Offering allow 8 hits per round. If the character were high enough in level, they could do a maximum of 79992 damage in a single turn.
Some of them really kick my ass... Zeromus was quite a bit more powerful than I had been expecting, Neo X-Death...
I accept all of these rules except for 2, because it's asinine. There are female characters I like, so I'm going to use two. But specifically to contradict that rule, the main love story is between Zidane and Zell.
Zidane (Thief/leader)
Penelo (Black magic/summoner)
Rosa (White magic/archer)...
I like big casts. FFIV, FFVI and FFIX are my favourites, and they have big casts. I also like it when you don't meet all of the characters in the first five or so hours of the game. It's nice to have a few surprises later on, like Cid, Edge and especially FuSoYa in FFIV, and Strago, Relm, Gogo...
I dunno, I find myself getting Rapture and The End quite a bit, especially during boss fights (they're longer). Earlier in the game, some of the spells she can cast are quite powerful. Once Rinoa gets her later limit breaks she becomes better (same with Zell). But for the first half of the game...
