[15/01] FFVI-themed website goes live, All The Bravest

Tonight Square Enix launched a brand new website featuring a color scheme and sprites that seem to be taken directly from Final Fantasy VI. Recently Square Enix teased an iOS announcement for Final Fantasy V (and more) at the end of the Final Fantasy IV iOS launch trailer. Square Enix also registered All The Bravest which can be seen abbreviated in the website’s URL, which has led some to speculate that this may be related in the form of a compilation name like “Final Fantasy Anthology”. More information will hit the web on January 17th, or a bit earlier for us overseas fans.

I'm quite interested in this. Hopefully it's a 3D remake like what they did for FFIII and IV. But of course I really doubt so.
 
FFVI on mobile.... don't mind if i do 'waits for FFIV to get on android'
 
Yeah it will be FF6 on mobile or cellphone.

It won't be want the FF6 fanbase wants it to be aka a FF6 3DS remake.
 
i wish this would be a 3ds remake instead :/ this game seriously needs to be redone.
 
I think someone, having broke into the site's Javascript file, found out that - yuuuup, iOS bound.

Remember when the ALL THE BRAVEST trademark came out and most people assumed it would be the western name for Bravely Default, yet a few of us (extreme pessimists?) sat back and said that this may just be an iOS game? Yeah, I remember that too.

I dunno why they would put FFV and FFVI together as a compilation if it's for iOS. I'm suspecting some random new spinoff game that deliberately tries to bully you to surrender your money over out of pure nostalgia value.
 
.Fleur - The FFIV trailer explicitly said that FFV was next, not a spinoff. I mean of course it makes sense--first I, II, and III came to iOS, and now IV is out. V is the obvious next port to be made. However, it could be that because V and VI are so similar in their core engine, SE will be releasing both of their ports at the same time, or at least so close to the same time and with such similar features that they're just announcing both titles at once. At any rate, I'm expecting more straight-up FF games, not spinoffs or compilations.

Because yeah...this website is about Final Fantasy V. The Behemoths on the left are from FFVI, but the sprites are clearly Bartz from FFV. Since the thread title only recognized FFVI, I just thought I'd make that clear.
 
I hope it isn't a remake, for either FFV or FFVI. I would hate that their remakes were put on iOS. Looks like Bartz and Locke on the image, though.

worse than that Star Galaxy crap they were keeping as a "surprise" :mokken:
 
The concept is interesting, but seriously. It's like SE are taking the full on western approach. What's that? Story you want? Here is this game that has little to no story and all game play. Have fun
 
Blast it, now I have to retract my previous statement and suffer the disappointment of not seeing the next iOS game promised by SE. I don't have much interest in playing a game made up entirely of the part of FF games I sometimes try to avoid. Oh sure, FF battles are fun, but it seems like for me there's a point in every game where I want more story and less battles. What keeps me going through the battles is the promise of more story at the end of them. This game would hold no such promise, so in the end it's just another forgettable arcade title to gather dust in the corner of people's iTunes libraries >_<
 
that's a really great website. i particularly like the colours. they go really well with the wallpaper in my bedroom.

i hope they start selling merch because i just love to buy final fantasy merch.

i have a whole cupboard full of it.

im all about the merch. hopefully they will sell some.

it wasn'textreme pessimistic of you to assume it was an iOS game, it was extreme pessimistic of you to deny the possibility of the game being a localized name for Bravely Default, for the short comings of SE had. it's like if FFv13 finally released in japan, but denying that the game wont get localized.
