Woah. Everythings changed. I hope I'm posting in the right place. So, I'm on my first play through and I'm going for every hunt. I've just finished Raithwalls Tomb and come back and theres loads of new hunts. My characters are around lvl 22. I just fought Croakadile and he was a bit of a pain (and only rank 2) so I know to do the rest of the hunts I'd have to do some power levelling which I don't want to do cus it makes the rest of the game easy peasy and I don't want to just try and get lucky chaining quickenings either. So my many questions are...

How long will the hunts be available for once they come up on the board and the clan hall? If I accept all them all now would I have the option to do em later once I've levelled up a bit? I defenatly want to get Gil Snapper. Is he still gunna be around once I go to Jaraha and come back? Cus I yeard hes only around in the rainy season so how long will it be raining in Giza Plains? Theres also Ring Wyrm, Marilith and White Mousse and they're like rank 5 and would kick my ass. I'd love some advice.

Be your own mind

The hunts are there all the way through the game. There is no partiular time to do them. So feel free to continue story line until you want to level up and be tough enough to do the hunts.

The hunts are always available. It's a good idea to accept all of them in one go so you won't need to go to the Clan Hall all the time. The monsters won't spawn until you talk to the Petitioner.

As for the Gil Snapper and others, they will be around but weather circumstances need to be met. Rain in Giza occurs for 1 hour, then Sun for the next 2, then rain etc. But a certain part of the game has to be done (en route to Jahara I think) for Giza Rains to be unlocked. Then just regularly go back to Giza to check.

Hope this helps

Thank you! That was well helpful. :)

So they will be there all the way through the game, even the elite marks? I found Vossler so easy cus I thought I'd have to level up to fight Wyvern Lord. I was also sick of reading the advice 'just chain your quickenings' thats no fun at all!

Whats this business you have to do to unlock the rains though? Weird. I thought it was already raining when I was fighting Croakadile.

After you have been to Jahara (or at least to Ozmone Plain), in Rabanastre/South Gate there should be a Seeq by the name of "Weather Eye". He should tell you when the rains will come. You can also go by the clock, as LordEternal said, it will rain for an hour, and then be sunny for two.

Don't worry about what I said about the rains thing. As you progress through the story Giza Rains will be unlocked after a certain part (which I believe to be when you are headed to Jahara.) Maybe I'm wrong.. but yeah to fight Croakadile you had to be in the Rains.

I'm pretty sure that hunts are available on the clan board until you finish them. And I'm also sure that more don't appear until you defeat some first.

There is no solid option to level up more;but you can accept a hunt and not talk to the petitioner. That gives you time to level, even if you accepted the hunt first.

He won't disappear if you don't defeat him.
Gil Snapper is only available during the rains,so during the dry you can't beat him or even get to the area he is located;but you can always go back during the dry (which comes many times again, don't worry.)
Also, don't get discouraged if he isn't in his area the first time around,he only appears when there is heavy rain.
It may take a few tries.

I've defeated those,so I'll help you.
Ring Wyrm:Well, the guide book says he's level 32;although I think it would be better to go into the fight with a higher level.
Say 40 or 50 something.Especially because I assume this is your first time playing the game (like myself)
As the guide book also says; Belias is handy in this fight;so it's good you've finished the Tomb or Raithwall.
Also;I'd use slow, and dispel on him so he doesn't keep haste and protect.
For a warning: He uses something to heal himself.

Marilith: This one is extremely annoying.
Go to the Zertinan Caverns and he's located in the largest room in Invitation of Hersey.
The book says to shut off all gambits;which is a great idea because you don't want your characters to be all over the place and healing each other.
Wait there for a few minutes.
If you wait in the corner(like I did) he'll come out from behind you.
(which scared the shit out of me,haha)
Use dispel and cast blind and slow;it's a big help.

White Mousse:
This one is also annoying to even get too.
It may seem easy because it's only level 15 but it's actually hard.
I'd use fire on it or use a fire powered weapon.
Like flametounge.
I'd equip an accessory that is against blind and poison; and the guide book says you should cast beserk on it so it doesn't rely on on magic and it's relys on attacking.
Use decoy to distract it and I'd keep at least one party member with a ranged weapon ( like a gun or arrows) with fire orientated bullets/arrows.

Thank you. Such a great reply :)

I've just finished the bit in Jaraha and I killed the last level 2 mark. Enka something or other thats around the corner. I thought he was dead easy so I tried to warp back thinking I could do Ring Wyrm. I was only level 25 or 26 (I haven't played in in a few days cus my boyfriend has taken over the TV with Zelda WW and hes not even as good as me on it, lol) and it is safe to say I got owned.

I tried to find Gil Snapper with the cutting down trees business and it looked like it was raining cus everthing is green and wet and I can see thunder storms but that dude from the Clan Hall said he wasn't there!!!
I saw another turtle looking thing but it didn't see Gil Snapper and thats when I lost my rag and turned it off. I still don't understand the rains business *sighs*

Uh, did you talk to the Petitioner? And for Gil Snapper to appear it has to be raining heavily with lightning and thunder (just cross the bridge/switch screens a few times to try and change the weather condition) and the Seeq will tell you that the Gil Snapper is on the island.

There are a few types of weather on Giza Rains: Cloudy, Rain and Heavy Rain (with thunder).

By the way, Gil Snapper is like level 35. And it's stronger than Ring Wyrm.

I def did talk to the petitoner. It was def raining too not sure if it was heavy rain though. If it's stronger than Ring Wyrm I think I'll wait a while now I know the hunts don't disappear. Great replies. Thanks everyone :)

the gil snapper is a bit af a pain in the arse... i'd say wait a while for it..... i had to grind a lot b4 i took him on.... when u croos the bridge made out of the trees you cut down and its raining heavy... you'll know because the seeq from the clan will tell you that he has arrived... if a quickening chain fails try and wail on him as much as u can *have characters use bubble, haste, protect* and set your gambits.... its a hard task but you'll get it .....

i forgot to mention...... have a tank*
(tank, adj: party leader that has beserk, reverse and bubble cast on him)
(reverse, noun: a spell that turns dammage in to health vise versa)
