Ok so theres a prononciation thread About Tidus on the FFX section so heres a spelling one about Aeris/th.

Due to a mis-translation on squares part millions of people have grown up calling Aerith - Aeris - so im going to ask you - which way do you prefer to spell it Aerith - the official way. Or Aeris, the name im sure many of you first encontered.

So how do you prefer to spell it and why? I prefer to spell it Aeris - as thats the name i first learnt and because thats how you pronounce it anyway.

*sighs* lol Okay, there's no 2 different ways to pronounce her name. The proper spelling of her name is Aerith however it is still pronounced Air-ris :) In Japanese the TH is pronoucned with an S

The proper spelling for her name is Aerith ^_^ while many people prefer the official and proper spelling, many others prefer Aeris. It's just depends on the person. I used to like Aeris, but something Aerith just looks so much more beautiful.

I say Aeris beause it's what I grew up with. I'm aware more and more people will call her Aerith because that's thr right way, but I love the old spelling. It makes me nostalgic.

I always thought that Aeris was the original name until just before Kingdom Hearts came out, when I learned about this other name. I still prefer to call her Aeris, cause that's what I know her as...

In the ff7 version (on ps1) that I have it is spelt Aeris... But in VGcats it is spelt Aerith. I like the Aeris way but if that's the wrong way of spelling it I change to Aerith.

I think Aerith sounds sexier than Aeris[The name, not the members.>.>]. So I side with Aerith, plus I've been playing KH and KH2 lately. But I hate Aerith's voice actor for KH2 soooooo much! She should just die!

I used to say Aeris & thought Kingdom Hearts was just being weird but now I like Aerith more. I don't know why, it just sounds more beautiful.

I spell it as Aeris because that's how I'm used to it. Altough sometimes I alternate the spellings. Aerith is the proper though. I remember the first time I played Kingdom Hearts the spelling "Aerith" would drive me crazy. But now I'm used to it.

I go by Aeris mainly because I'm American and played the American version. However, I find the name Aerith a bit more appealing say if I was going to name a daughter of mine after it. I don't know...the Japanese version just has a certain cool sound to it.
