Airship, is it worthwhile?

I thought this would make a great thread, seeing as how we all have different preferences as to how we go about this game.

I love flying machines. As long as I remember, I've always enjoyed sailing through the animated air w/ the game's flying function. That's why this is a topic I feel is important.

What do you prefer? The Blackjack, the Falcon or o you want to avoid using the airship as much as possible. We all know you need both ships in the game, but please tell me your favourable preference.

As much as I enjoyed the confrontation between Edgar + Setzer, I will vote Falcon because I enjoyed traveling through the Zombie Caverns just to get to it. You obtain a Weapon for Sabin and the worthiness of the guardians that try 'n' stop you is at an impressive level, I am compelled to announce that result.
 
Blackjack because it is a complete Airship, it has the item shop & free recovery point. Also a casino that you can't use...
 
Yeah I loved the blackjack as well.

In fact I loved both airships.....One thing I really loved was they were both super-fast you could get from one places to another in just a few seconds!.....Big difference in speed compared to the airships in VII,VIII, and IX.
 
The Blackjack was magnificent. It was absolutely beautiful, probably the best designed airship in the entire series.
Both airships in the game did basically the same thing, so that's why I'm using looks as the biggest consideration.

On second thought, perhaps the music that plays while you're flying should be considered as well? In that case, the Falcon would be my preference...

Well anyway, I pick the Blackjack. It's my favourite.
 
The Falcon. It's NO5 powered.

Although it's lack of free heals and item shop was irritating.

The design of the Falcon looks pretty awesome though, more 'sleek', for lack of a better term.
 
Honestly? It doesn't really matter to me. Because by the time you get the Falcon, your using it most of the time anyways if your like me, your more than lvled up for all the fights your going encounter, and ready for the final battle.
 
I really favor the Blackjack. Mostly because it had the goods :britt: But I favored the look of the ship and it seemed really cool when I first saw it. I also like where all the characters that weren't in your party resided on the ship :P It was a really fun airship. I don't see why anyone would NOT use an airship in this game. I mean there are parts of land you can't even reach without an airship ^^
 
I liked both the ships in Final Fantasy VI, they were pretty cool. But having to pick between the two, I would say I preferred the Falcon over Blackjack. The ship just looked cooler, and I always thought it held more sentimental value for Setzer, so that was a plus. But of course after the course of the second part. But then again, one could argue that it just makes him sad. >.>

Oh yea, and its name is just awesome. :megusta2:
 
I liked all the airships, largely due to the fact that I like ships in general. To have an airship in the air is just a convenient variation. No doubt, one that I'd enjoy... But anyway.

I voted the Blackjack simply for the ability to restore the party to full health on board.
 
All the goodies and the design in general makes the Blackjack my choice, and i do agree with the person saying its the best dsigned airship in the ff series.
 
The Falcon looks safer & more high tech with the enclosed cabin. At altitude the speed of the wind can increase drastically. The blackjack probably wouldn't be much fun with 50 mph+ wind blowing in your face. :britt:

My fav would be an airship that doesn't use hydrogen, helium or hot air but instead used a vacuum to generate lift. That's something that would be futuristic, unique, and original. I don't think its been done before.

Or, maybe a hybrid airship with wings or rotating helicopter blades as in earlier FF games...

But, in terms of FF6, Falcon all the way~ :ohshit:

I love airships in general because we get to fly everywhere with them. Whatever takes us to hidden, secret, treasure filled areas more easily and faster.

But I'd have to say the Falcon in this case for FF VI.
 
Definitely the Falcon. I think it has more of a history than the Blackjack did, and I just think it looks better in general tbh. I do Believe that Setzer also said something about it being slightly faster than the Blackjack as well, however I didn't really notice any difference in speed:hmmm:
