Such a...eventless game, it seems. Somehow it proves to be a lot of fun, though.

Have you played Animal Crossing? Thoughts on the game?

omg i got so obbssessed(spelling?) with AxC WW

it was bad. the good thing though was that i completed the musuem.

but yea
that game was so much fun

I was obsessed with Animal Crossing for Gamecube. To me, it's one of those games that you either hate or love, and I loved it. It was my first life-simulation game, so I didn't know what I was going into. My little brother "lived in the same town," so that made it more fun. I liked sending letters and catching fish. I played it for about a year and a half.

I also played Animal Crossing Wild World for DS. I like the additional clothing and festivals, but to me, they didn't add enough on the original formula. I hear they're announcing a new one for the Wii at this year's E3, so I hope they've made some significant improvements.

Yeah, Wild World wasn't the sort of follow-up I was looking for. It was like the first Animal Crossing, but with less to do.

It's a good way to waste time.

Yeah I was playing it not so long ago, and I truly did not see what the fuss was about, and I saw there thinking it was utter crap.

But when it came to stop playing, I didn't want to, and basically found that I loved it!

...I actually wrote myself a note to remind myself to get on Animal Crossing before 10:00 PM because I had stuff I wanted to sell to Tom Nook before he closed his shop.

That game addicts you in a weird way.

I tried to do the morning workouts one summer on the Gamecube version. I think you have to wake up at 6 a.m. 15 times in a month or something like that. To cut a long story short, I did it about four times and decided I didn't like being sleep deprived for a game. I think that was the only "event" I never completed.

Some events I do like are Halloween, Christmas Eve (or the night before Toy Day) and New Year's Day.

Once I got bored of playing, I'd just change the date through the settings options.

I kept missing those early morning workouts you mentioned, so I just turned the clock back a few hours. Unfortunately, your town gets infested with weeds if you abuse the game clock. Oh, well.

Anybody heard about the supposed announcement of Animal Crossing for Wii at E3 this year?

Yeah IGN suspect that the game will be announced and made by the end of this year...which would be be pushing it, but they might port it from the Gamcube and tweak it a little bit (Wii-mote etc). I've heard that it could be focused around an MMO though.

Anyway, I played it on the DS, I never got the whole point of the game but it was fun...apart from that damn mole :monster:

The only time i've ever played Animal Crossing it was i when a school friend's house and he let me play for a bit.

It was fun in a weird way, but never have the change to play it more than just a few minutes.

I hope they really make one for the Wii with online; visit a friend's village would be awesome.

Port it from the Gamecube? Please say you don't mean an exact port. That was just one generation ago! That would be entirely too depressing.

I demand an all-new game, even if it means waiting until next year.

I don't think it would be an 'exact' port because they would most likely improve quite a lot of stuff; graphics etc.
But at the same time it wouldn't ne massively different to that of the DS and GameCube.

I wouldn't expect the game mechanics to change dramatically. You'll still be managing your town as you interact with furry companions, I bet.

I'm just expecting A LOT more to do. More crap to collect, more furniture to obtain, and maybe an all-around larger town to explore n' whatnot.

Give me that, and I'd be happy.

I've heard there might by a city or apartment complex. That might be too radical of a change, but it's cool to think about.

Actually, I think I heard a similar rumor a few months ago. Something dealing with expanding the land you own. Like...the player can become mayor of his/her city once they've acquired enough land.

Just a rumor. I'm not buying into it yet.

I played Animal Crossing religiously for about 2 months on the GameCube. When I stopped, I really didn't understand how it kept me occupied that long. There really isn't an awful lot to it.

It is ingeniously addictive though. God knows how it works :p

I played animal crossing on the DS, it was like the most addictive game ever. There was a stage where I was like "MUST. COLLECT. PEARS!" and foaming from the mouth, but once I stopped playing it for a few days, I couldn't get back into it.

It's a damn addictive game :| Scarily addictive.
