:holyshit: has anybody ever wondered why you can pick up a peacemaker(one of vincents weapons) in kalm but you can't pick up one of cait sith's in the shinra hq?i mean seriously vincent's a hidden character and cait sith is a mandatory one

Isn't the one in the Shinra HQ Cait Sith's Ultimate Weapon though? Maybe they didn't want it available early on. I always did think it was weird that you could pick up one of Vincent's ages before he could join you though....

No basically their giving it to you as a hint that there is another character that can join your team. And as for Cait Sith, that was his final weapon, cant have your character getting his best weapon soon as he joins. But it lets you know where it is so you can get it later.

I actually never really payed any attention to where I got them from. I just got the items when I was allowed to.

could you get the HP Shout if you had Cait Sith from game shark? Or would you have to still wait?

yeah it always made me wonder why you could get that gun.

I just remember picking up the Peacmaker and thinking, oh who can use this then...? And never hving ayone able to equip it, I didnt get Vincent my first playthrough so I think I just ended up selling it lol

As for the megaphone, I assume I would have just assumed that it was some random object and not even though that it was a wepaon or anything at first until I actually got Cait Sith and no doubt forgot to go back for it haha

Although, I think the reason you can pick one up and not the other is because HP Shhout was Cait Siths ultimate Weapon, and that would be no good, having that so early now would it, and the other just to peck your head and make you wonder who it's meant to be for, until you find the guy, or sell it like I did :wacky:

When I first played through the game I always did wonder what the megaphone was for, and of course when I did get Cait-Sith it didn't even click that I should go back and get when you go back to Midgar.

And about the Peacekeeper, I just never sold it and when you get vincent if I remember right it wasnt even the best gun to equip.

Because its a final weapon you have to have him in the party thats like obvious.

MOD EDIT: I shall ask you to be careful in future on how you should word your comments. Things like this are not so obvious to people, not as if people know the secrets etc to things in the game.

You can't be having an ultimate weapon too early on, but I think it was there so give you a hint that you can actually go back later.
I always found it odd that you could pick up a weapon for Vincent ages before actually being able to get him. and more odd that it was quite the weak one as well. However using it with Throw can cause some decent damage.

Think about it logically. If you're on a quest to save the world, right? You see a big ass gun laying on the table next to a damn megaphone, you aint about to snatch up the the megaphone run out the door and forget the strap in the house.

Also, as far as the Peacemaker being 'weak', Peacemaker is the gun that's spent the most time equipped to my Vincent. If you'll ask me why, I'll tell you it's the same reason that I keep the apocolypse on cloud, javelin on cid. Find out what these weapons have in common and you'll realize why Peacemaker is one of the best weapons to use with your Vincent character.

Never really thought about it and what weapons laid dormant in my inventory. I just equipped whatever was the best for each character and moved on. I can understand why an Ultimate Weapon wouldn't show up until later though.

Also, I think you can pick up some of Yuffie's weapons ahead of time as well.

Nyeh, I just always thought that at the time being he didn't even know he would have a party member that used a frigging megaphone for a weapon. Why would someone pick up a thing like that?
besides, I don't think you're allowed to have an Ultimate Weapon that early.

i agree with the HP Shout being there as a little hint, and The Peacemaker being there to let you know of a gun-wielding character....but then again, the booklet makes this a bit obvious, haha.

Well, in real life - I'm going to vote for a programming 'whoops' where they just didn't pay attention and made The Peacemaker available way too early in the game.

In game reasoning: What the hell would you want with a mega phone? A gun is more reasonable as a 'use able' item than a mega phone. Ya know?

I actually wondered when I obtained Peacemaker whose going to join me later in the game, I even thought that Rufus is going to join me since he uses a gun too. xD And it's Cait Sith ultimate weapon so he can't really have it early in the game it would be just weird.

I never actually thought about this for some reason. I always knew Vincent was somewhere in the game and used guns (I was a bit spoiled and saw someone play VII a lot before I got the chance) but I always saw him with a rifle. Then you pick up this little handgun and it's like "wtf is this for?". Pretty sure it always got stolen in Corel anyway the first few times I played it so I didn't know for the longest time Vincent could use it. But I think I kinda saw the megaphone and figured it was one of those types of things they stick in the game that you can look at but have no meaning. Didn't even realize it might be for Cait until about the second time I played it. XD

Peacemaker is, I think, strength-wise the same as Vincent's starting gun. But it has DOUBLE materia growth, which makes it a keeper.
