Hey guys,

I bought KHII the day it came out. But only just started playing it again ( I got up to POTC )

The thing thats bugging me is, KH is my all time favourite game, i have completed all side quests and clocked up 180 hours.

And i just dont like KHII nearly as much so far. I mean as far as i know it may get much better. But was anyone else a little dissapointed?

I wasn't. I really enjoyed the storyline and characters in this game.

Granted, it was much easier to play than KHI, but I think over-all KH2 is the better game.

I was disappointed. Took about 2 hours for the game to get fun to play, all the new things they added to the battle mechanics were useless, the story just became even MOAR convoluted and plot-holish, and I really hated how you had to lvl up those stupid forms just to get super glide. Oh, and there was a lack of optional bosses too. I wanted to fight some epic bosses like Kurt Zisa and Clocktower Phantom again, not just Sephiroth.

You had two optional worlds, optional tournaments and the rest of the Space Paranoids/Radient Garden as sidequests, on top of completing 100 Acre Wood, completing the Gummi levels and flying through Synthesis quests - there were just enough, really. They have corrected the problem of a lack of optional bosses in Final Mix + ... it's just a shame we'll never see it.

No, I wasn't disappointed by Kingdom Hearts II in the slightest. I maintain that it's the best game in my collection, quickly seconded by the original. I can fault nothing in either game.

No, not at all. For one reason they got rid of the demon camera that was in KH, like honestly what idiot decided that that would be a good idea?

No, I wasn't disappointed. I could create better gummy ships, in fact flying through worlds with the Gummy Ships is what I enjoy the most about this game. I liked the enhancements they did with the battle system, how Sora is able to dual wield keyblades with different styles depending on the form he took. I did missed a lot some of the epic battles like "Kurt Zisa" and "The Phantom", and I fell that the Sephiroth of this game is actually easier, due to the amount of skills and abilities you can obtain. In KH 1, Sora was slower, had limited abilities, some of them which I never used. The Final Boss fight, though all show with little difficulty, was great. If you want to make things slightly harder, fight on a higher difficulty.

I was not disappointed either. KHII was way more fun and addicting to me than KHI was.

The graphics were a tad bit better and the battle system and just general gameplay like moving around and jumping were 10x better in the second game.

The bosses, story, and characters were a lot more interesting, and the story from the first was cleared up towards the end of the second.

Sure I had a hard time at first getting the grasp of Roxas, but it all un-tied itself at the end for a pretty good ending.

I was disappointed.

The first 4-5 hours of the game are terrible. After that, you get to wander around poorly designed worlds (none of the returning worlds are layed out as they were in the original Kingdom Hearts) and watch A LOT of cutscenes. Cutscenes are fine, but I have a problem when I end up watching the game more than playing it. I could go on with my complaints as I did in another thread, but I'm lazy.

In short, Kingdom Hearts II wasn't nearly as good as the first game.

I'd have to say the only real part of the game I hated was optiona: Arial's singing.

You ahve to sing those stupid songs like 18 1/2 times and by the 2nd time you hear the song your ears start to bleed. Don't beleive me? How about VG Cats?

My ears weren't bleeding, but I was in pain. Atlantica was decent in Kingdom Hearts (at least you could explore the place and actually fight a boss). It's a shitfest in Kingdom Hearts 2.

Not sure what they were thinking with that one.

Atlantica...*shudders* What a god awful place, that was. I hated it, really. haha.

All in all, it was an awesome game experience for me. Of course the beginning was soooo drawn out and longgg, but it was cool all in the end once the action finally got started. ^___^!!! I loved the game to be honest. I would replay it again if I still had it. >_>;;

Atlantica is optional though. Just like in the first game.

Personally, I love this game better than the first because of it's battle system. It's much more versatile than the first, but it lacks exploration like the first. But then again, KH1 did get bring in certain worlds - Jungle world, Atlantica and Monstro.

Atlantica was never optional in the original. :wacky:

I thought KH2 was better then the first, story line whent deeper into the KH verse and game play was improved (marginally). It did leave me with alot of questions though, not as bad as the first did.

Everything presented to us from the previous three games was explained rather thoroughly. If you're taking Final Mix and Final Mix + into the equation, they're not much different from the VII compilation, in that those questions will be answered in the up-coming games.

The optional places were always a struggle for me. Not in terms of completing them, but on the idea of if I want to actually be assed into going there to ccheck them out. All I really wanted to do was get the main jist of the story line, find the true meaning of life or some junk like that, and kill the eveil dude.

Arial and her underwater castle didn't help me do any of that.

Not a bit. Granted, it was a lot easier than the first with all the combo's and forms. But it had a good storyline, and a sad sad ending. :[

It's the best game in my collection

Actually Atlantica was optional. To continue to Hollow Bastion, you had to complete 2 of the following: Atlantica, Monstro or Halloween town.

I wasn't disappointed at all! KHII is one of my all-time favourite games. Much better than KHI as well, which I thought was pretty cool. The game play was awesome, the double team moves and triangle button attacks was great to watch and definately kept me entertained. The storyline was lush!
The ending when Sora, Kairi and Riku got to go home was beautiful and the perfect ending for me. But I liked how it had a cheeky secret ending with the letter from Mickey. OMG and the battle for Hollow Bastion was dribble-worthy
And Axel was in the game, enough said.:P
