Ok guys, here is a guide to Role-Playing or, "RPing". These are my little tips for what you can do to role-playing.
What is Role-Playing?
This question is asked very often among the new people on the forums. It's ok to ask that, everyone can learn at one point. This can be referred to role-playing or for short, rping. A member of the forums could have a really good idea for a story, but wants people to take part in it. What do they next? Create an rp, of course! They invite people to take part in a story. They ask you to create a character to take part in the role-play. For how to create a character, see below.
As a role-player, you are expected to have good literacy and English skills. Ok, you might not be able to have PERFECT English skills because you might be foreign or simply ... because you find English hard as your area. Don't worry about this! Practice typing out simple sentences.
Another thing to do is to always NEVER write in the first person. This is an example of the first person:
I went to the shop to buy a packet of sweets. There was a hint of jealousy on my face when I saw the boy called Chad with my former best friend, Katherine. Anger was seen in my eyes and I just wanted to go over and smack her ...
Definite NO-NO! You must write in the second or third person. Let's correct that last one:
Faith went to the shop to buy a packet of sweets. There was a hint of jealousy on her face when she saw the boy called Chad with her former best friend, Katherine. Anger was seen in her eyes and she just wanted to go over and smack her ...
One more rule: always write in the past tense. Writing in the present of future tense is another NO-NO! Past tense MUST be used in rping. Present and future tense screw it up.

RPing may look hard at first, but it is actually quite easy. Here are a few RPing terms:
Important Things To Remember!
Godmodding. GMing is where you make your character super strong and powerfull. Like if they can kill foes in one hit and never stop to recover. This can often ruin a story.
Powerplaying. PPing is when you control someone else's character, without permision. Always ask before doing controlling somebody else's character. Even if your just making them say "Hi".
In-Character. IC is when you are RPing.
Out-Of-Character. OOC is when you are not RPing and saying something to your fellow RPers. Such as if you want to tell them all to meet up somewhere or perhaps you have a question about the role-play.
Creating A Character!
When creating a character, be creative. The basic stats in an RP templates are:
Name. A name for your character. You can make one up or take it from a game, book, show or movie, unless the creator of the RP specifies if you can or cannot do that.
Age. Try to make the age fit your character appropiately.
Race. Usualy different fantasy races such as, Humans, Elves, Gnomes, and Goblins.
Class. Your character's class usualy depends on the type of RP you are joining. If it's a fantasy RP it could be a sword weilding warrior, or a magic using sorcerer. It all depends on the type of RP, and what you want your character to do in battle.
Weapon. Your character's weapon relies solely on what class you choose. If your class is an archer, then you use bows and arrows. If your class is a summoner, then you can summon beasts to assist you in battle.
Pic/Appearacnce. You can use a picture hosted by www.photobucket.com or www.imageshack.com or you could type what your character looks like. Make sure your chatacter's look fits their class and the type of RP.
Personality. Your character's personality. Try to be creative and describe just how your character responds to certain things.
Bio. Your character's history. This can be the longest and most challanging part of RPing. Take your time, be creative and make sure it fits the RP.
Now, you're almost ready. When RPing make sure to always be creative. Use your imagination.
Literacy is a must, in other words: Try to use your best grammar and spelling. It may take a while for you to post your response to something, thats okay, take your time. And of course, have fun!
I think that's all. If you have any questions about RPing, then please PM me. I will be glad to help you. Here are some more posts from other members of the forums with advice.
Also one more tip: please be literate. Being literate means having a good knowledge of English to put down in your sentences for role-playing and knowing your verbs/adverbs.
If you can't think of creating a good rp, join some other rps before you make your own. Get in a good rp with some experienced rpers and learn from their knowledge. When you feel you're ready, then create your own rp.
