On the Xbox 360??

Seriously, I am... I've been currently unlocking achievements for the games I've been playing. I love the fact you can increase your gamer score by unlocking the achievements but some games are so hard and I get pissed off when I can not unlock a higher achievement...

What about you?

Nahhh, I don't care much about my achievements. I play quite a lot of games, yet I only have a gamerscore of like...3,000.

I'd be lying if I said I NEVER went for achievements, though. 10 gamerpoints for acquiring 10,000,000 gald in Tales of Vesperia. Yaaaaaaaay. Totally worth the time.

Im only on 1050 at the moment. I wouldnt say Im an achievement whore, but I do buzz when i just happen to unlock another one lol.

The only achievements I really care about so far are Mass Effect's. Even then, I don't go out of my way to achieve them. The reason why Mass Effect's achievements are so great is, when you replay the game with a new character, you get kickass stat boosts.

I don't see the point in making another thread like this for the PS3 so I'm going on achievements or in this case 'trophies' based on the PS3 >.>

But I actually am a whore for it :D
I just like to beat people so I always want to have more trophies than other people...I got 45 trophies the first day I updated my PS3 >.>

Nope, not an achievement whore. That doesn't mean I don't rejoice when I do unlock an achievement though. But usually when I unlock one I just happened to stumble upon it by actually meeting the requirements for unlocking it. I really dont even try.

I don't bother with the trophies on the PS3, personally. There's something about it that doesn't quite push me to obtain them.

Ooh, just remembered an achievement I went out of my way to get. "Seriously" on Gears of War. To get that one, you gotta kill 10,000 players through online multiplayer matches (excluding Annex matches). Time consuming.

Yes I am an achievement whore. I loooove beating a boss in a game and hearing the little <bleep> of a notice, and I'm fairly proud of my 10,000 + gamerscore.

As for PS3 trophies, I only have 4 so far for Super Stardust HD. I enjoy having something to aim for, but I really don't care as much, especially because trophies aren't on hardly any games.

I hate the *bleep* notice. The same sound is used when Xbox Live friends get online or send you a message. I always think I've unlocked an achievement just to find that xWolfx325 (or some other generic gamertag) sent me a message. Lame, man.

I'm a whore. I love working towards achievements in a game no matter how hard or easy they are. I actually will probably tone it down a bit now that I have 2 accounts for Xbox Live and will only try to get offline achievements on one account and do online ones on the other.

What's with the crappy achievements some games have that aren't worth any gamerpoints?

Damn Guitar Hero III tricked into thinking I accomplished something worthwhile by giving me an achievement worth 0 points merely for backing out of a boss battle.

That's crap. And there's an achievement in Tales of Vesperia that's unlocked upon completing ALL the other achievements...but it isn't worth a single point. Why even bother adding that in...

Nope i just do what i want in the games. Although if someone is gloating about their gamerscore i'll put them down :P

As much as I want to be an achievement whore, I simply do not have the time. I have so many games, and I should have a GS of at least 25,000 by now, but I don't... probably due to the fact that I'm constantly leaving games halfway finished because I'm always buying new ones.

Though I was an absolute whore when it came to CoD4. I couldn't bring myself to stop playing the single player campaign. The only achievement I haven't been able to unlock is Mile High Club. -_-

I'm not a whore for achievements but I do like collecting them. I define an achievement whore as someone who plays bad games just to rack up their gamerscore. Typically I'll try and get more achievements for a game the more I like the game.

I try to go for at least 800/1000 score in a game. Just something nice about knowing that you've more or less completed the game. There are some really annoying and pointless achs though, like in Tales of Vesperia, traveling for 100 000 km (I think), which is taping the analog stick down 8hrs. Those, I don't bother getting.

I generally enjoy getting as many achievements I can. It's a good way to show just how much you've actually played the game, and completed. A better sense of accomplishment. But as you said Raiyun, there are some really annoying ones. I was reading through the achievement list for Saints Row 2 the other day to find out nearly half of the achievements require completing certain parts of the game in general, and the others require completing the game with another player. I am looking forward to playing co-op, and I'm not at all against co-op play, but it's not always easy to find someone to do a mission or level with, which generally ends up discouraging me from really trying.

I'd be more willing to get the 100,000 km achievement over co-op achievements.

Sadly yes, i am an achievement whore. I didn't use to be until i beat oblivion and got every achievement i could and felt so proud of myself for it. My Gamerscore is only around 7,350. I don't own my own xbox, so i only do it when i can, i have a memory card that i carry around to friends houses with my profile and stuff on it. I usually focus on beating the game first, but then again in the case of Lost Oddessy and Infinite undiscovery, i just got whatever i could on the first play through. Though shorter games like Mirrors Edge and GoW2 i allow a second playthrough to get what i missed the first time.

I was at first when I played Bioshock, OrangeBox(Halflife2,TF2,portal), and Halo3.. but I sort of realised there was no real point going through all the secrets.

I still go through most games working to get those that are not impossible to get, just for the fun of it, but I don't do it for bragging rights. If anything they show you play a little to much and you need to take a break.

Take for example .. let me call him "bob" for now. Bob buys 3 new games on xbox360 a month. Even if he's hurting on money he will take the hit on his CC debt. When asked why he buys so many.. he says "Well playing is not half as fun as buying them. When people look at my game list and see what achievements I have or don't have, they get to see how many I actually have"

My response would be.. how do people know that you don't just rent them? ...

So he shows everyone on his webcam.

The only real problem I have with achievements is that it doesn't really say much about you as a gamer. I want my achievements to say "You clearly have no life and a dedication to quality games". Instead, it doesn't really make any difference how large my gamerscore gets or what games I play. Busta has about 3,000 points on me and most of his are Madden 06 type games where there are only about five achievements and they're for incredibly easy things.

Well I am not really an achievement whore but I like getting hard ones like for instance in Gears Of War 2 killing 10000 people which takes long. I have not got it yet. Some achievements unlock in game things like Halo 3 gives you more armors to chose from.
