Couldn't think of a better title. XD

Why is it that some people think it's okay not to wear deoderant?

I mean seriously, half the people that walk into our store just reek!!!

I was standing at the register today and this customer was getting served by one of the other staff and OMG! PONGY!!!

It's like when you spray a deoderant or something up your nose and it burns. THAT'S HOW BAD THE SMELL IS!!! IT BURNS!!!

Fair enough some people may have only just started to perspire and they may not be able to spray right then and there.

But you can tell when some people haven't sprayed in days!!! It's like they just let it marinate over night or something! GROSS!!!

You'd think they'd be embarressed! They're in a pharmacy for crying out loud! By some deoderant and use it!!!

So how are you when it comes to this sort of thing?

Do you spray once a day in the morning and let it last the day? (Not that it would)

Or are you persistant with ensuring that you never get smelly?

I always go out the back every hour and a half or whenever I feel like I need to and spray deoderant. I'm so paranoid about smelling feral and someone smelling me and talking about how smelly I am behind my back. XD

Oh and I bet you smell like candy and peaches :ahmed:
So rude of you Kandy, you aint that sweet like sugar at all,,,

Anyways for men its different isnt it? we spread feromones? with our BO (Body Odour) those feromones are picked up women ,they smell it and they get horny in a instant..

Feromones????? isnt that for women though?

:lew: something like that xD

I spray everyday btw.....-_-
sometimes I dont wipe my ass properly so I always make sure I spray with my GUCCI Deodorant...

Oh and I bet you smell like candy and peaches
You mean kandy and sugar, Ohriski ♥

Anyways, I know exactly where you're coming from - when I worked in a store, some customers would come in and their BO would be overpowering...like they hadn't bathed for days, either. I don't care how natural it is, its absolutely dreadful when you get too close x_x

So how are you when it comes to this sort of thing?

I smell of chocolate =3
...I don't like chocolate, but I like the smell of the body spray I use. xD

I tend to spray just before I go out, whenever that may. When I don't go out in the morning I usually have a shower, so it works out. xD

Or are you persistant with ensuring that you never get smelly?

I only tend to spray once...I only usually need to. Occasionally I'll spray my top as well. xD

I was not expecting this thread .
But I can feel your pain. There are tons of kids at school that claim they shower every morning/night yet they smell like your most recent barf. I shower every morning and take a hot bath every other night (its quite relaxing <3) - some people think I overdo washing, but the baths are just for the comfort. And I always use Dove deodorant at night (its been scientifically proven that you smell better longer when you put in on before you sleep). And I've been told I suffocate people with my usage of my vast varieties of body spray and lotion. I like anything that smells like raspberries or chocolate ~

I don't care how I dress or look, but I care about taking showers and being clean.

If I gross you out from what I'm about to say.. then so be it, it might tickle you otherwise.

Some fellas I know go a day or two without showering, and they smell like a wet cigarette that's been carried in a mangy dog's mouth. They are quite the lady's men. (not so much).

Without showering there are quite a few things that occur in us men, and here's why women could be grossed out by us.

1) Smell like crap - No matter how much you think you're shiznit doesn't stink... you are wrong.

2) Ball sweat, and the smell from it... Christ almighty if you don't wash that's just disgusting. Ever heard of smegma? Well I'll explain with a spoiler tag...
It's when a man doesn't wash well, and the sweat/shiznit/piss accumulates among his taint / (between balls and arse) and it forms this creamy (cheese [aka dick cheese]) substance)
Do you really think you'll ever get a woman like this, I mean come on.. sick sick

3) Oily face. Nothing gets me more when people don't wash their face and have eye buggers when talking to me, or zits protruding with what looks like they smeared a small pizza on their face.

Next subject....

People who over deodorize. Wow, how many times have I run into folks who play sports and I can't breathe when I try to make a decent play. I literally gasp and cough at this point. Or when I'm at the office and some fella walks up like he's going to be without soap for 4 days, I literally just sit there and try to breathe in my mouth.

I personally use stick deodorant during the day. On occasion I'll throw on some light deodorant around my neck. It's just so I don't have to reapply at 5:00pm my deodorant. I'm still clean, but from doing whatever I do during the day, being a guy, we all need to make sure the BO doesn't come back.

Lastly.. Breath.. If you have dog breath, that is the ultimate sin, get that fixed.

I don't really smell at all even if I forget to put on deodorant, which is every now and then. I do try to take showers at least once every other day mainly because I don't want to dry my skin and scalp out. It's just better to keep those natural oils doing what they're supposed to do. However, if and when I know I smell or feel really oily, I will take a shower or do what I can to A) get rid of the smell, B) not look so greasy. While I don't care about smelling like a flower (I'd prefer smelling like nothing), I do care about smelling like body odor or something worse.

That's pretty much how I feel about it too--if you shower or wash too frequently, the natural oils/bacteria in your skin get washed away, and it's not a good thing. I just shower on a need basis, and don't make a regular routine out of it, though it's no longer between than every other day, especially since I've been going to the gym a lot lately. A person can't really just throw on deodorant the second they smell bad though, because that doesn't really accomplish anything--most of the time, the deodorant mixes with the BO and makes a worse smell. I use a stick deodorant, and if you try to put it on over BO, the smell it makes is nasty like old canvas or something, so it forces you to wash first before you put it on.

If some people in public seem smelly though, it could also be that their clothes are smelly, but not necessarily them, if it's armpit odor. There's this thing that happens where if you have aluminum in your deodorant (many of them do), and it mixes with something in your sweat, it makes a stain on the arms of your clothes (appears yellow if you have a white shirt), and no matter how much you wash it with regular detergent, the smell doesn't come out. But, when you first take it out of the wash, you can't detect it unless you try really hard, but when you put it on and sweat into it, the smell releases again and it's really amplified, and you can be stuck walking around with a shirt that you'd thought was clean but really wasn't :/ I've had this happen to me a bunch of times, and finally I looked up a recipe for common household chemicals that can take it out, but that could be why so many people tend to be smelly too. I used to think it was only me that it happened to, but apparently it's a fairly common thing.

I know for a fact that I smell right now, but that doesn't really matter at this point since I'm just sitting in my own room by myself. I can stink up the place as much as I want. :monster:

I will bath and put on some deodorant before I leave the apartment, though. I don't really come across anyone who smells too badly very often. It's usually a friend of mine who often complains about how so and so stinks, but that's mainly because she has a strong sense of smell. If you stink around her, she'll have thoughts of murder.

I shower every morning and spray my underarms with deodorant soon after I get out. I'm always aiming to keep my hygiene up because there's nothing much worse than being called smelly.

I guess sometimes people don't know they smell.
I don't think I smell but if i did I'd expect someone to tell me. I'd rather be embarrassed for a second than find out i was stinking all day and no one told me :|

I am quite smelly, now come give me a big ol' hug. :wacky: /joking

Usually how I smell depends on what I am doing for the day. If I know I am going out somewhere or if I know I will be having guests then I will take a shower, put on deodorant, put on body spray etc. If I know I am not doing anything I may skip a day for a shower and just shower that night. The way I see it, like Addle said, why should I care if I am smelly or not if I am not doing anything that day anyway?

I make sure to use deodorant twice a day to ensure that my body oder doesn't scare away people xD. I hate feeling dirty and grody. It's a huge and i mean huge turn off for me.... you can be the nicest person but god almighty please use it... for other people's sake. :ffs:

I mean there was the guy I knew a few years back and he really liked me and whatnot. He was sweet and all but, everytime he reached in for a hug i'd try to avoid it because he reeked that bad. >.<

Generally though, I don't sweat that much to be honest even when i'm at the gym :hmmm: Which is a good thing. I mean it may seem like girly but, thank you lord XD.

I tend to be ok with my mornings deodorant, its good shit, I dont really sweat that much anyway, I dont do enough haha, but even when I do, my deodorant is good enough to keep any pongs at bay

Id have to just hide if i thought i smelled, or try to conceal best I could lol

Worst thing about sweaty betties though, is when they pong, and spray deodorant over it, it doesnt fucking work, you just get the BO smell plus the whiff of the spray on top of it, and imo, that smells even fucking worse

Personal hygene. It's no fucking hard to keep on top of.

I was dirty today. not smelly.

Fell asleep last nite/eveing around 6pm without showering so i felt greasy and dirty today at work. Im in a job where you get pretty clatty everyday so showering is a must. Last night though i black dived, wasnt intended like but still its not fine the next day when you feel all slimey.
And deodrant? I wont go out without it.

I can't take not showering now since I just feel icky if I don't. XD
The most I'll go is probably one day and that's IT.

That being said, I always seem to get seated in close proximity to the smelliest dudes out there. Like this one guy at church stank so much I couldn't help but waddle across the pew, walk briskly past the aisles, and walk out every once in a while to escape it all. It didn't help that there wasn't any other seat available for me to relocate to.

Seriously, that's just gross.

I always shower every day twice a day and sometimes more if it's particulary hot.

Morning before work and night after work are definite must dos though.

I mean, I understand that where I live, not a lot people are well off, but seriously, they can at least take a shower can't they?

It's not like we live in the slums. >.<

They're just feral, on drugs and have few brain cells left to comprehend that showering is something that most people do. <_< That's my theory for the people in my area anyway. XD

I couldn't ever imagine getting as smelly as what Shu described. It's fucking sickening just thinking about it. However, let it not be said that I've never smelled. I've, in a couple of instances in my life, have come home and just smelled as if I walked out of a sewer. :gonk:

Trust me, when you sit down and you can smell yourself, it's bad. So I instantly look a hour long shower. I can't stand being smelly. Bitches best fucking believe I'm best friends with Mr. Soap and Mrs. Water. :mokken:

I bathe regularly but I've found that recently I've hit kinda of a dry spout about using deodorant. Since I can't find anything strong enough to actually keep me from sweating or something that won't leave white streaks on my shirts (I've tried 'em all folks :dave: ) I usually don't bother. It's not like I have anyone to impress. I don't really talk to wimmin folk much (off line anyway) so I don't really worry about smelling good.

I am persistent in my cleanliness, I am a naturally clean person so I never get smelly, I also use deodorant & perfume on a regular; it would be so embarrassing to not know you were smelly! I'd die of humiliation -_-

I have had the same thing happen to me though, this one guy in front of me and my dad at a hardware/car-parts store...ugh! No disrespect but he smelt as though had never bathed!

Also this topic reminds me of the girl from Gossip, she doesn't deodorize at all, she thinks punk singers have to smell, I mean sure your prerogative to not shave but WTH no deodorant?

Smelly people... ...smell :sad3:

...and not wearing deodorant should be illegal :rage:

I'd never have the heart to tell someone they smell though...I just vacate the area as quick as possible. I hate summer when people don't shower when they need to, marinate in it and go to the stores and walk past all hot and sweaty and I get a whiff. I've never run into stinky people at our gym though thankfully :monster:

I smell like whatever perfume I've been wearing for the day which has been Micheal Kors Very Hollywood or Dolce and Gabbana L'Imperatrice...Kors smells like Gardenia and Mandarin oranges and L'Imperatrice smells like watermelon and Rhubarb. ...I looooove switching over to my summer perfumes :gonk:

Ohhh and my hair smells like coconuts usually...or apples from my shampoo after my daily showers. I'm really smell-obsessed I guess ...but I love it :monster:
