Before I make any rules or sign up discussion yet, I would like to see if anyone is at all interested in joining this RP. Whilst I am not sure on a basic plot yet, perhaps you guys could help. I am thinking of not adding characters such as Ezio or Desmond as to make it more unbiased andand fair thus creating your own Assassins to counter the Templar threat. I will of course be requiring Templars to act as the story' s villains. I will provide one but a main bad guy would be appreciated. If you're interested, feel free to say and I will post a Sign Up thread soon.

I got yer PM. :monster:

I would be interested in this. However, the whole historical setting would be kinda difficult to manage as the participants would have to have a vast knowledge of a given setting's culture and history. Unless you completely scrap the whole Animus thing and go for something set in the future? I've yet to play AC3, so I don't know how the whole Desmond storyline pans out yet. But I think something set after that, in which the Assassin's are still fighting the Templars/Abstergo? :hmmm:

Although, why not incorporate some of the ideas from AC and mix them into something more original? It allows for much more creativity, and then people don't have to worry about using the correct history and whatnot for their characters. :)

Or...

Why not take a general setting, but make it almost entirely fictional? I'd love for an RP set in somewhere inspired from feudal China. Like during the time of the Samurai. :hmmm:

I was thinking of more to the future, after AC3 (which I haven't either) and perhaps have some animus influences. Perhaps some different settings can be arranged so we can have different characters. Our main character for the modern world, and perhaps other characters for settings taken place in the animus. Or is that too complicated? If so, then it might be wise to do another RP in the future focused on a particular setting in the animus such as the Egyptian Times. Or if not, something people are more accustomed to from the games. Right now though, I think it's best to focus on a more modern era as of now and see how this pans out.

Well if we do go into the past, then I'm in favour of either an Ancient Egyptian setting, or Feudal China. :monster: But then I'm all for a more modern setting as well...

Although, I don't think there should be a main character, but more a main group of characters. :hmmm:

You know the way Desmond inherited most of his skills from a particular ancestor? I'm actually thinking of doing something similar for my character if this RP gets going. I'm thinking of him/her having an ancestor from somewhere around 9th-12th Century China, back when gunpowder was discovered and started being used in fireworks. I like the idea of my character being rather reckless with his/her use of explosives. :D

I meant as a group sorry. But that idea is cool with ancestor stuff. Players can relate to an ancestor they get their skills and such from. We can have a whole range of characters with developers ideas but that of course means developed bios. Also, this can relate to players that may want to be Templars as well so they could have a more villainous approach to their ancestry. Eg. Their skills may very well be base off Vlad The ImpalerImpaled per example. I think with this more modern approach, it may allow for more creativity. Necessarily, players probably won't need to know the chronological event or full story; just a good understanding of what Assassin's Creed is about.

I like the whole idea with the villains. :D But, if only a few people end up taking part, why not narrow it down to a core group of "heroes" who have to take out some Templar "boss" and his/her cronies? The villain could be someone portrayed as an NPC of sorts, or simply someone written as by yourself.

Yeah I suppose we' d have to wait and sees who is willing to participate. It would be nice give people a chance for a role of a main villain or just one of his/her lackeys. Nevertheless, I intend to see that this RP allows everyone for equal spotlight and characterization.
