Hullo and welcome to the Avatar: The Last Airbender FC!
This is Nickelodeon's hugely popular t.v series we're talkin' about.
And with the popularity following the Avatar: The Last Airbender series, it's to expect that there would be more done for this great show after it came to a sudden end in 2008.
With that said, M. Night Shyamalan, the big time Director and Writer of a bunch of great movies,
is a fan of the series just like you and me.
After becoming a fan, M. Night started is work on his own movie based on the beloved series. Scheduled to hit theaters the 2nd of July this year! If you're a fan of the t.v series please follow the links to trailers, forums, and news articles provided farther into this post.

| ABOUT THE SHOW |

Avatar: The Last Airbender (also known as Avatar: The Legend of Aang) is an American animated television series that aired for three seasons on Nickelodeon and the Nicktoons Network. The series was created and produced by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, who served as executive producers along with Aaron Ehasz. Avatar is set in an Asian-influenced world of Chinese martial arts and elemental manipulation. The show drew on elements from East Asian (especially Chinese and Japanese) culture, blending the styles of anime and US domestic cartoons.

The series follows the adventures of the main protagonist Aang and his friends, who must save the world by defeating the evil Fire Lord and ending the destructive war with the Fire Nation.

Dude I'm so psyched for this movie ever since I heard rumours about it. I'm afraid it's going to be a bit too gloomy, y'know.. Shalamalaman and all... not too mention it may have a confusing ending that's completely devoid of climax.... again, Shalamalaman.

Regardless though, I have hopes for the movie, and it's sequels. Supposedly he's doing a trilogy, however it's still sorta unsure of what it'll follow. And I'm sort of at an impasse at what I would want it to follow, anime or it's own storyline after the anime.

...oyah, and I'll join the club. :monster:

Glad to have ya here, Channy! Also "Shala-mala-man" <--Too funny.

Can't say I'm pessimistic about this movie, though. :hmmm: I've always been a fan of M. Night Shyamalan. So I think it will be great. With each new trailer I get more excited. And I'm hearing more and more people claiming that this will be the only chance of knocking Twilight: Eclipse from the number 1 spot in the Box office. June-July weekend.

And, there's lots of TLA fans in the world, I wouldn't doubt it's strength just yet either.

Welcome! I've read those! They're so funny! What's that third image though? 0.0

Generally on /co/, posting of "Brave Soldier Boy" leaves everyone in tears or close to it.

In this case, someone totally destroyed that effect by posting the Swedish Chef version afterwards.

I gotta say I thoroughly enjoyed those Ships. :3 Might copypasta one for the oncoming release in July.

OMG WE SHOULD DO A MINOR AVATAR THEME CLOSER TO THE RELEASE.

Avatar theme? What do you mean? What ever it is I call Aang! <33

Ooh! Sounds cool! But I won't be able to change my name until the 12th of July :(

IT WILL BE AWESOME. :gasp:

Okay so for some non-spam... What did you think about all that shit going on with the controversy about them using non Native people for all the roles?

Frankly I wasn't bothered by it, but it does take away from some of the authenticity of it. :mokken:

That is a cool card! Also, Channy, the whole race thing never bothered me. Because when I look at every one of the characters in the movie I see the actual characters from the show!

So I think M. Night did a great job on picking actors for each role.

ooh I want to join! I love Avatar. I can't wait for the movie. I'm going to keep my expectations low because of how movie adaptions of cartoons usually turn out so I'm not disappointed.

But my favorite characters are Toph and Sokka. I wish they gave Sokka more cool things to do in the series. I like Zukko. Yeah he started out "emo" but it was cool at the end of the series when he looked at how he acted in the begining and was embarassed about it. And in the end, he didn't use the way his father treated him as an excuse for the way he acted. He admitted that he was an ass lol

Welcome Rydia.

There's not a doubt in my mind that the movie will be bad. Unlike the other cartoon based films, TLA is American that right there is a major difference.

This has just enough fantasy to keep someone interested but not too much to where the viewer gets weirded out.

There's sites saying that they predict TLA to make quite a lot of cash in the box office.

ranked 8th among summer releases and take in 180$ Million.

9th and 140$ Million.

7th and 150$

13th and 115$

So those are VERY good signs!

TBH I'm not surprised about Twilight and Toy Story, but I am surprised at the ranks of Shrek in some of these. Really? Shrek has about 5 movies and thank GOD this is the last. Frankly the 'series' would have been better off as a singular movie, at this point they're just beating a dead horse.

I don't think Avatar would have as much praise if it weren't directed by Shalamalaman.

Edit: Just watched an up to date trailer and holy shit, I'm stoked. I got goose bumps from it, and Kitara is perfect I think. And that kid's ability to be as flexible and nimble like Aang is is amazing.
