So any fan of Barbie movies? Even back then? =] I think the first Barbie movie I ever saw was Barbie in The Nutcracker, and even then it never seemed to interest me.

Then a few days ago, a little girl in my class bought in Barbie and the Diamond Castle movie for our movie day and I was just...completely hooked! The next day, I went to Target and bought the same movie, along with Barbie Maripoza...for my daughter. >.> Ahem.

That same night, I went to ebay and bought a Barbie collection which contained 4 DVDs. And then I bought two more DVDs...

For my daughter, I repeat.

So anyone a fan of this doll's movies?

I was a fan of the doll, but the movies really never interested me.

Are they really that good?

Surprisingly, yes I thought they were really good, especially The Diamond Castle, which is the most recent movie, I believe. The songs were pretty catchy.

I checked some Barbie trailers on youtube and from what I saw, most of the Barbie movies are quite interesting. She gets all the adventures, and it's just pretty cool watching it with my daughter and seeing her reaction to all the magic and fairy tales told.

I used to be a fan of the movies when I was younger xD Barbie and the Nutcracker was the first one I ever saw as well, and I absolutely loved it. Everytime I went over to my friend's house, we'd stay up late and watch it. The Repunzel one was another favorite of mine. I'd beg my mom to go rent it for me almost every weekend lol

I started to lose interest though as I got older. Good to hear that your daughter likes them though cause they really are great movies for kids.

To be honest...Barbie and the Nutcracker was pretty good. :wacky:
My sister decided to put it on when I was in the same room and I couldn't be bothered to go elsewhere so I just laid on the sofa and watched it...yes, only hardcore men would admit to seeing Barbie and the Nutcracker. >.>

I actually still kind of like those movies, simply 'cause I watch them(well one of them at least) every christmas. Why?

'Cause someone has decided to send them on telly around those times, and since I am a usual bored person I end up watching them.

And serious, they're not all that bad.

No they're not bad at all. The Twelve Dancing Princesses just arrived by mail today and we watched it - so grand! The tune playing is stuck on my head. Now we're waiting for the others to come, which includes:

The Island Princess
Twelve Dancing Princesses
The Princess and the Pauper
Swan Lake
Rapunzel
The Nutcracker

I didn't know what I had missed when I was a little girl! >.>

I can't wait to watch The Princess and the Pauper! The song "Free" really caught my attention.

And then of course, "Connected". I know Sara Paxton's the original singer though. My daughter and I have been singing it all day. xD

Of all the ones I've seen, Rapunzel was my favourite.
I must say that Barbie seems more gentle and nice compared to Bratz. I hate Bratz and their giant heads -__-

Bratz just irritates me.

And the new Barbie movie came out a few weeks ago. Barbie in a Christmas Carol. It wasn't that great to be honest. I was actually quite disappointed. It wasn't even Barbie's voice (Kelly Sheridan) and that irked me since I was really looking forward to more of Kelly's voice-over. It completes Barbie's character, in my opinion. Not to mention that the girl who voiced Eden (I don't even know if that was supposed to be Barbie - the whole look and personality was different, and she has green eyes) wasn't all that great either. It was actually quite terrible. The plot was interesting enough, but the characters were quite poor and uninteresting, to say the least. Ah well, hopefully the next Barbie movie will be much better.

AheMmmmmmmm barbie? Saw this before!!! but nothing interersting to me lol!!! My cousins watch this!!!

My favorite movie is the Nutcracker because I like part when all those small fairies come out. I think that movie is awesome. My niece also likes Barbie movies and I bought two movies for her. We watch it all the time. :) The songs are all right. My favorite song is off of Diamond Castle and that is Connected.

I love the Barbie movies.

I have 5 in my DVD collection.

I think they are:

Mermadia
Barbie and The Nutcracker
Swan Lake
Rapunzel
Princess and the Pauper

I've always loved the actual stories in particular, and when they were released as Barbie movies I was ecstatic. >.<

It's just a pretty, enchanting and colourful world every time I put on a Barbie DVD. >.<

Honest to god, there is a backstory to my madness. I'm gonna tell the story right now. Okay, so growing up with an aunt that was the same age as me, and who we visited frequently, was pretty much like having a sister. This sister was absolutely in love with everything Barbie. She had posters, dolls, the giant house, KEN!, everything. I remember always wanting to play with the house. That was our deal back then. I'll play Barbie with you, but we have to use the big house. Anyway, fast forward a few years, and we're sitting in the living room one morning by ourselves eating cereal. We finished and went to watch TV, and she put on a Barbie movie. At first I just rolled my eyes, but in the end, I really enjoyed it. That planted the seed for what I am right now. These movies are my guilty pleasure. I love pretty much all of them. They're just fun. :lew: Much better than those Bratz movies. :ahmed:

It's strange, I had barbies and I loved playing with them with my sisters... but I never enjoyed the films. They're pretty and all but they never interested me. My mom would always put them on during Thanksgiving and I just couldn't enjoy it. :lew:

OMG yess! I haven't seen the newer ones, but when I was little I lived off of Swan Lake.

My friends and I decided to revisted or earliest days and watch some barbie movies, and when I watched Swan Lake...I didn't like it nearly as much. What bothered me was that THEY NEVER KISSED! YOU ARE IN LOVE...KISS!

But now my favorite is the Princess and the Pauper. I think they did a really nice job and the purple guy (Preminger? That how you spell it?) Is HILARIOUS. That song he did...it's on my ipod :britt:
