Hi Everyone,

I am Daner and i am new in this community. I am very happy to join this community. Here, I am starting a thread on movies soundtrack. Share with me which one of your favorite movie soundtrack??? I love Fast & Furious movie soundtrack and yours???????????

I could think of so many.. I would never be able to pick just one as being the best though.
These would be some of my favourites, not all of the movies themselves, but the soundtracks:

-The Sound of Music
-Titanic
-The Wizard of Oz
-A Streetcar Named Desire
-Grease
-The Lion King
-Gone With The Wind
-The Godfather
-To Kill A Mockingbird
-Beauty and the Beast
-On The Waterfront
-Breakfast at Tiffany's

A few more recent favourites of mine would include The Dark Knight, Ratatouille, How To Train Your Dragon, and the Pirates of the Caribbean series.. they've all had terrific scores.

Hmm there's plenty I could name as well, but to name an obvious I'd also go with Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children. I love one winged angel in this more so then the game!

The Lord of the Rings trilogy had an epic score :ryan: Home Alone is also a memorable one, it's got tons of Christmas songs in it that aren't usually the most popular ones played on the radio, so I never get sick of them. (Plus the choir version of O Holy Night is otherworldly and quite fantastic.) Oh, and Twister absolutely--it's a great people story, not just a disaster flick, and the soundtrack is full of my favorite artists, a lot of 90's rock artists but also some more seasoned epic ones like Van Halen and Mark Knopfler :jess:

Chicago I thought had an amazing soundtrack. For a musical, the music was really amazing and I loved it...I thought the movie itself was really well done.

Clueless- This was the "Mean Girls" movie of my time...except Cher wasn't so mean. I loved the soundtrack for this movie... I remember some of the songs were Shoop by Salt N' Pepa, No Doubt- Just A Girl, and David Bowie- Fashion...and many others.

Disturbing Behavior- Okay...I liked this movie. James Marsden was beyond hot in this movie and the soundtrack fit really well. Some of the songs I remember were Harvey Danger- Flagpole Sitta and the song that plays at the beginning and the end of the movie by The Flys- Got You (Where I Want You)

Pride and Prejudice- This has got to be my second favorite movie of all time...the piano music they had in this was absolutely breathtaking...and compared with some of the scenery very well left me speechless.

The King And I- I like this Rodger's and Hammerstein more than I liked The Sound of Music. Shall We Dance, Something Wonderful, and Getting To Know You make the soundtrack unforgettable.

Credits song on the 2nd Resi film is a memorable one for sure.

Home alone..-- Favourite of mine.

Pirates of the Carribean -- Ohcome on...who doesnt like a bit of Jack? :yay:

Indiana Jones -- Embarrasingly, the theme is catchy! It's a good fave.

I think pretty much all of John William's works, with the exception of The Patriot and Harry Potter. Not that they're bad, it's just that they're the least memorable. The Star Wars movies and Jaws in particular have unique and excellent music. The Indiana Jones soundtrack is a significant contribution to modern culture (along with the film).

And of course, you can't forget the incredible talent of Alan Menken, in both score composition and songwriting. The man writes haunting melodies that will resonate in the minds of all Disney fans.

The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Newsies, Enchanted- all great soundtracks through and through.

Danny Elfman is a notable composer also, but the one film that sticks out more than others is Tim Burton's 1989 Batman. It's the theme that defines the masked hero. It's awesome, intense and epic and the rest of the score complement the movie's atmospheric tone and mood.

My absolute favorite would be the combined talents of Miyazaki and Hisaishi. Joe Hisaishi has done numerous soundtracks and they're all great (Save one or two) but the movies that stick out the most are obviously the MIyazaki ones. Joe writes themes that sweep your feet away and take you into the world the music is reflecting. LaPuta: Castle in The Sky, Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Kiki's Delivery Service- all are strongholds of excellent film music.

How To Train Your Dragon has a bitchin' soundtrack. :3 I was so sad when it didn't get the oscar for best original composition!

Hmm...I think it would have to be How To Train Your Dragon, Black Swan and Black Hawn Down. I feel like they have the best soundtracks, or so I think. :)

I could just listen to their music all day long and never grow bored of the beautiful musical pieces in them :33

I think Lock Stock has quite a good soundtrack, in as much as it's a good collection of songs, even though they don't particularly related to the movie. You could I wanna be your dog in most movies and it would sound as great.
But I think Trainspotting has the better soundtrack, I think the songs are better and they actually relate to the movie. Lust for life could sum up large parts of the movie, Perfect day also works really well.

.........

Right now im really into the Neon Genesis Evangeloin Osts.

But i have recently been listening to the Advent Children ost.(perhaps a little too much)

I also enjoy the Ost for Final Fantasy VIII. its quite possibly my favorite video game ost. ever.

well gots to go to the local Game Stop to Pre-order Final Fantasy Dissidia 012 l8r

Oh now this one is really, really hard for me because I am such a huge fan of soundtracks! I'll give a couple of OSTs that I really love, because I can't pick one!

Edward Scissorhands - Danny Elfman
Gladiator - Hans Zimmer
Tron Legacy - Daft Punk

There's more...! I could add the Shadow of the Colossus soundtrack by Kow Otani or the Final Fantasy VI, VII and VIII soundtracks by Nobuo Uematsu... but I must stop! My list is already too long! :x3:

Im going to go with Sucker Punch on this one cause theirs only 1 or 2 songs i didnt like majorty of the track was amazing. I really liked White Rabbit,Army of One and Tomorrow Never Knows, I never wanted to get a movie soundtrack album till I saw that movie.

The Fountain by Darren Aronofsky has one of my favourite soundtracks. It's by Clint Mansell (he did Requiem for a Dream and Black Swan too). The soundtrack to the film is nothing short of immense! Listen to this if you don't believe me!

for me its a tie.. top 2, the punisher soundtrack and the crow. i cannot decide as both had music that matched the movies very well and both are very good movies as well.

Personally, I believe the best movie sound track of all time was for Lord of the Rings. (I mean the compilation sound track of all 3 movies. Soon to be 4!) I absolutely love all the music, and I loved the movies. Learned how to play a lot of it on flute and clarinet as well.

I'm fond of quite a number. :lew:

In terms of original scores, I'd have to choose Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter (gotta love anything by John Williams, really), Titanic (the score was incredibly powerful), Pirates of the Caribbean. :hmmm:

If we're looking at music with lyrics, whether original or not, then I'd have to pick Moulin Rouge, Shrek (the first and possibly the second)... :hmmm: Then we head into Disney soundtracks... Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Brother Bear and The Aristocats... :wacky:
