I'm gonna throw out Kuja from Dissidia for 2b. I knew there was a reason I avoided that game and whea tI saw confirmed my instincts.

Final Fantasy XII. With the exception of Vaan and Penelo, they're all so refined and aristocratic. I just love their way of speaking!

1b. Which game do you think had the worst VAs?
From what I've heard, Final Fantasy XIII's VAs are going to irritate me a great deal. The trailers were enough to put me off them.

2a. Which character(s) did you think had the best voice?
Kefka. His voice is PERFECT. Couldn't have asked for much more, especially with his humming the FF Victory theme. PRICELESS. I'm also very fond of Seymour - his soft, aristocratic demeanour was chilling - and I've grown fond of Sephiroth's voice actor, as well. Genesis Rhapsodos was quite well-voiced in Crisis Core, as well.

2b. Which character(s) did you think have the worst voice?
Vaan. Smack bang in the middle of a game filled with aristocratic voice acting is a guy with a horrendous accent. He didn't sound remotely like the peasant he was...it was extremely annoying. I'm not keen on Cloud's voice, either.

Final Fantasy X. They all suited their characters very well!

Well, there's not very many with voices... I would say XII, but only 'cause I cannot think of anything else.

2a. Which character(s) did you think had the best voice?
Straight up, Auron! His voice suited him SO MUCH. I loved it. It was just perfect. It was wise, demanding, powerful and it just had that ... crisp sound to it.
2b. Which character(s) did you think have the worst voice?
Cloud in AC was disastrous. Okay, maybe I did watch the Japanese version first, but... my my... "I'm a delivery boy now." ... Hillbilly much?

FFXIII, I'm actually liking the voices so far. However, I'm expecting SE to fuck things up as usual.

FFX. Terrible voice acting was terrible.

2a. Which character(s) did you think had the best voice?
The Japanese version of Dissidia has Romi Park as the voice actor of Zidane. I like it much better than the English version.

2b. Which character(s) did you think have the worst voice?
Tidus. I hate his whiny, annoying, shitty voice almost as much as I hate his character.
 
Best & Worst (English) Voice-Acting 1a. I'd say for the best it would be Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. It wasn't all too bad even though I preferred the Japanese version. I was so glad they got rid of Aerith's KH VA...ugh...such a robot.

1b. No lie...FF10...GOSH. I HATE Yuna's voice!!!

2a. Best voice, Zack Fair. :) It was pretty well done.
2b. Yuna =__= Oh don't even get me started on her...just makes me wanna punch a mirror XD. Also, when I heard Kuja's voice for Dissidia...homo much? I know he's feminine and all, but it was just horribly done..

Id say Final Fantasy X because it was the first one with VA.

Wow, Id say Dirge of Cerebus. From what I seen, me no likey >.<

Auron. The gruffness was spot on to his deep, mysterious persona.

Id say Vaan. Just a whiny little bitch who just got on my nerves!!

I'd have to say FFX, there's not much choice between that and FFXII tbh, FFX's voice acting seemed to suit them more. Although, if we're including unreleased titles as well. FFXIII destroys them both :ryan:

FFXII, it wasn't overly bad but the only character I though had a decent voice acting was Balthier...and possible Fran.

Auron, his voice was pretty badass and suited his attitude to a tee.

2b. Which character(s) did you think have the worst voice?
Like SS said, Vaan, he was just a whiny little bitch.

I actually rather loved Final Fantasy XII's voice acting. It's rather underrated because of Vaan. Simon Templeman voices Judge Zargabaath, and I love his voicework. I love the distinctive voices of the helmeted judges and it really made them an intimidating force. The use of accents was brilliant- such as Al-Cid and Ondore.

1b. Which game do you think had the worst VAs?
FFX. The laughing scene was atrocious. I find Hedy Burress's voice surprisingly difficult to listen to. When it comes to Seymour's voice, it ruined his intimidation as a villain.

2a. Which character(s) did you think had the best voice?
Auron, surprisingly because I just condemned FFX. Completely badass and casual. Like all badass heroes.

2b. Which character(s) did you think have the worst voice?
Probably Yuna. Vaan isn't intolerable like Yuna. It's a weak voice for some reason.

I only have played three games with VA, X, X-2 and XII. I'll go with XII.

FFX. The laughing scene is one of the saddest moments in the history of voice acting. A robot voice could show more emotion then Tidus' and Yuna's voices in that scene...

2a. Which character(s) did you think had the best voice?
Auron. His voice was exactly as it should be and didn't sound as forced/unnatural as some of the other characters voices. At least one thing that made it worth to add voices to FFX.

2b. Which character(s) did you think have the worst voice?
Wakka. The accent was too overdone.
Brother. Also a too overdone accent and most of his lines were useless or annoying anyways.

I'm still not sure if the voice acting of Tidus and Yuna is so bad because of the way the dialogue is set up in FFX or because the voice actors just have a lack of skill... FFX has an ideal story for a lot of emotional conversations, but I think some of the conversations would be better if they were longer...

FF X. The voices were just great. They all corresponded to their respective characters and didnt sound out of place

FF XII. I know the accents were on purpose, but they annoyed me. I couldnt understand some of the things that were said. Thank God for subtitles

una. Hearing her speak was just awesome. Her voice made me feel like I was there.

2b. Which character(s) did you think have the worst voice?

Fran. She sounded like she kept using the wrong consenants. Like with the word "Sounded" she made it sound like "Sounted" :confused:
 
I don't think Mr. Taylor or Ms. Buress (Tidus and Yuna's English VAs) are untalented. I actually loved Yuna's voice in X-2. And as Shuyin Taylor also did a great job.

I blame the dialogue but hat's just me.

Hard to say! There's at least one character voice I love in each, and at least one I'm "eh" about.
2a) Which character(s) had the best VAs?
I love Auron's voice to death, but that's partially an extension of my love for the character. Never an awkward line from him. Rikku is also lovely. And Wakka. Weirdly, I loved that cheesy accent.
Balthier and Basch are generally excellent. So is Larsa, and most of the important NPCs in XII, like Drace and Vossler and Cid and Al Cid. Yeah. Generally very good voice acting in XII.
Kefka is AWESOME in Dissidia, especially because those were some very big shoes to fill. I don't think many were disappointed with him, and that's saying a lot. His actor is the same guy that plays Kakashi in Naruto. Almost never recognizable, but on the occasion where it is, it's just that more creepifying for me, hearing the crazy from the lackadaisical mentor guy.
Ugh, this list is getting long.
I quite like both of Squall/Leon's VAs. Though that is partially character love bleeding over, again.
I also love Cloud's VA, because of the slight rural twang in his voice. I don't know if it's intentional, but it's perfect. ;)
2b) Which character(s) had the worst VAs?
Yuna in X. She... acted.... okay. But. The pausing. Why? Much as I love X, that took me out of the game a little. She was fine in X-2, however. Unlike most people I don't dislike Tidus' voice. He grew on me, like mold, and Tidus is kind of an annoying, ditzy guy, so it fits the character. I also really dislike Aeris/th's voice actress in nearly every case. TOO demure. The girl grew up in the slums and hit people with a stick. But this is also a matter of what I think is the character being misinterpreted in everything besides the original game.

Funny, this is why I love Cloud's English voice actor. Nibelheim is supposed to be about the ass end of nowhere, so deep down, Cloud is a hick. "Let's mosey" indeed. ;)
 
1a. I think probably FFX just because the voices were a bit more upbeat and cheerful rather than, say, FFXII. which i liked but not as much.

1b. I think crisis Core. None of the voices were that spectacular and aeriths voice does my head in! ahh!

2a.I actually really love balthiers voice :). its just so regal-like.It makes the life of a pirate seem so romantic :D

2b. Cait sith in FFVII:AC is the worst voice ive ever heard in anything ever! as a scottish lady myself, i dont know why they couldnt have at least used a real scottish person instead of some random dude that is putting on an awful accent (i apologize to the dude if he really is scottish!) Just terrible... Really...

Well there's not much room for decision in this question because the only games with voice acting are X, X-2, and XII. Out of those, I'd have to say XII.


1b. Which game do you think had the worst VAs?
X, mostly because of Tidus. Every time he started speaking I muted it, and just read the subtitles. Yuna paused too much and when she's angry she sounds... stupid. I liked Lulu, but she sounded too much like she was telling a story every single time she spoke. There's good times in the game to sound like that, but not for every line. Shelinda's voice drove me up the wall, as well as Maester Mika. Stereotypical old man voice.


2a. Which character(s) did you think had the best voice?
Fran. Not many people like her voice, but I think it suits her. She is a Viera, therefore it makes more sense in my opinion that her voice would be different from the others. She was my favorite character out of all in XII, and it's also possibly because I like diversity, so the fact that her voice didn't sound so similar to everyone else's could play a part in me liking her voice the best.

Another character's voice I liked was Cloud of Darkness. Her grunts and "heh"'s didn't sound as cheesy and predictable as the others in Dissidia.

And so I don't sound too feminist... I liked Firion's voice.


2b. Which character(s) did you think have the worst voice?
I'd have to say Tidus. His voice actor just took it way too over the top. If you closed your eyes and tried to picture it as a real person saying his lines, you couldn't. It was overdone. "See ya!" *rips hair out* When he says, rather, tries to say "She's an Al Bhed", I just wanted to throw the game out of the window. He was just too annoying for me.

Another voice I disliked would have to be Zidane. It just reminds me of a cocky 12 year old. I cringe whenever I hear it.

I meant the main Final Fantasy titles, and I'll give you credit for IV DS although I never played it, and it is a remake. I wasn't saying it to offend you, I was just letting you know what games I was making my choice from.

Hm, well, I liked the majority in most games tbh. I do favour XII though, I do think they were significantly better then previous titles. I don't like the Imperial Soldiers voices though, I find them a tad annoying haha. Out of X I liked Auron's voice the most, X-2, probably Gippal, and XII, well... Magisters, Basch, Vayne, Reddas, Vossler...Dr.Cid...yeah quite a lot.

Like, it totally should have been a lot deeper.
