Well. So I went on a feels trip down Nostalgiadelphia. Went through some of the old animes I watched from back on a now-defunct (or more accurately, re-branded) television channel over here. Hell, it may not even have been screened on that channel. But no matter. I went through some of the old animes I watched on those channels, decided to find more since I've just finished running through a few of those.

And now, I need to go deeper.

And so I went back even further, back when my age was a mere single digit. But of course, with great time gap comes great forgetfulness. So... I don't remember what's the name. Well, to be fair, it was screened in its Chinese dub, so I never quite knew its' English title. Of course, I also don't even remember what the Chinese title is (wouldn't be here otherwise).

So there you have it. I need help identifying this anime. I can't give accurate names, but here are some descriptions which would hopefully jog someone's memory (assuming anyone even watched this in the first place).

- The story's about a few characters (duh). They are humanoid beings, who can transform into more badass versions of themselves using special stones.

- Dem humanoid beings, I recall, were rather cute people. If anything, it's targeted at kids. (Wouldn't have watched it otherwise, a'ite?)

- The main character (or an important character) is this pirate-like individual who without the stone, is some... Fat, pirate captain? After he uses a stone (I believe it's a water-element stone), he transforms into a slightly more handsome (or outright handsome) pirate?

- There's also a gold stone (yeah, gold is one of dem elements... Or something)

- The final episode, unless I'm wrong, had everyone come together and merge stones or something. If I'm not wrong, main character becomes some badass amalgam and crushes evil dude.

Ooh, I totally forgot about this thread. Also neglected to update my latest finding using the power of Google. The anime in question is actually:

Gyōten Ningen Batseelor (aka. Captain Fatz and the Sea Morphs)

Should be fairly obvious who the target audience are :P I'm more surprised this anime actually screened in 2001... It feels like an even longer time ago, though now that I think of it, 2001 is 13 years ago... Gee, I feel old now.
