can you survive the early part of the game w/ just a potion?

i havent tried this, but i think we'll find some difficulty by using only potion.

Well i survived by just using potions.
FF8 was my first game in the series and my first game in PLay station.
So i don't recognize or i dont know what the other items are for, so i just used potions lol...

it isint so hard, theres junction system, inn and magic for you to use.

I survived except when I went into the training area. There, I encounter a big Tyranosarous Rex. I tried for at least an hour to beat it down. Then when it finally attacked. It killed me in 2 hits ....I shut the game off and didn't play it for 2 days lol.

Should be possible to get to Timber at least by just using potions as long as you be careful with when/who you fight between healing especially against T-Rexaurs.

I Survived Isn't Really That Hard.... as the last poster just said be careful what you fight.

Heh. The first time I played I encountered a T-Rexaur in the forest outside the Fire Cavern. I was only level 4. Needless to say, I got killed by a whap of his tail!
