Not really a great topic but its a another story of cosmetic surgery gone wrong.

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/42374009/ns/today-today_health?gt1=43001

Shes had a further 30 surgeries and still she cant close her eyes properly. That would be horrible. Getting to sleep would be pretty damn difficult :lew:
Shes been given $115 in compensation. Thats alot of money, but its not worth all the surgeries and the fact that to this day shes still unable to close them properly.
All this started from an eye lift for a squinty eye aswell.
Bet she regrets that one.

wow... how horrible. I feel bad for this woman. :/

I really only feel sorry for her because she was born with a defect which causes the eye lids to droop more and more as she ages. She wasnt getting the eye lift done because she was scared of looking her age.
Its just one of the risks of cosmetic surgeries. Everyone makes mistakes at theyre work. Surgeons are no differnt. Its still one of them things your probadly thinking 'it will never happen to me' But it could =x

Yeah, that's the worse part. She HAD to do it. And this result is really sad to hear. I hope it gets better for her. :/

Its a wonder though they cant fix it. I mean surgeons and doctors nowadays can do the most amazing things, but they cant fix a woman who cant shut her eyes properly? I bet its a lot worse than it sounds aswell. Cant close her eyes? Big deal! But when you think about it thats terrible. She cant even blink D=

News thread! :gasp:

And for the record, for that many surgery's, $115 is nothing really. Those surgery's are easily in the thousand dollar range, or so. So $115 is an insult, she deserves a lot more money for that considering she probably dropped $30-50k for it.

EDIT: Forget what I said, obviously I didn't read the article. :lew: Yeah, $115k makes more sense, but as stated by Lew, its still not worth it if you can't close your eyes to sleep.

I bet that stings like fuck, i wonder if shes getting enough...we...moisture(?) for her eyeballs. I cant sleep at the best of times never mind if I oculdnt close my eyes

I wouldnt feel sorry for her in the slightest, but its just really shit that shes tried to fix one defect and ended up with another

It's awful when this sort of thing happens, and especially if the procedure is necessary for the person to function comfortably. I don't think I would ever want to get cosmetic surgery unless it was medically necessary--what if a procedure goes wrong, and you're stuck with a worse problem than you already had? I hope they can do something for this poor woman. With as many successful procedures that are done for people who just want to look better, it's not fair that she actually needed this and it didn't work.

Oh God that sounds awful.

How on earth does she sleep properly? She wouldn't have been having a good nights sleep in a long time I would imagine.

The shower thing would definitely be annoying. Trying not to get soap in it and such.

Having to do such a tedious thing such as coating your eyes with a special gel just so you can go to bed and have a normal shower would be so time consuming and annoying!
