Okay, I'm a member of a different forum and over there they do things called Can't Stand Threads. Everyone who's interested posts what they hate about the game, and no defense is allowed. Attacking other people is also not allowed. I hope that this is allowed here, but if not just tell me. I don't see the harm if everybody is mature about it.
 
Oh, I was about to mass flame you or something for hating the game... but now I see. (btw are you adverting your forums? o_O)

Ummm what I hate about it... I hate how the battle animations of cloud and etc. couldn't be the ones when you're walking around and stuff. That would be awesome(er)! I know there is a mod for that on the PC version, but I like the PS1 version better >.> heck, everyone does.
 
.... Can't Stand the Opening and knowing everything line-from line.. because has played the game too much..-__-
 
I can't stand the no new game plus in the original game. You do so much in it, master all your materia, times 16 sometimes, and get all your stats up to 255, then you get tired and want to go through the story again. No way is it worth it.

Also I hate how there was no replacement for Aeris. I feel that once you get to Icicle Inn you should have ran into someone with all her weapons, armor, limits and such.
 
I was actually annoyed by Yuffie several times in the game. But by the time I watched AC and played DoC, she didn't seem too bad after all. Even sometimes, Cloud annoys the hell out of me just because he puts on this tough attitude and pretends he doesn't care about anything. I hate real guys who act like that. >_>

No, the forum where I did this before isn't mine.

I hated that there was no replacement for Aerith too, but the thing that drove me crazy was the way that spells were named with numbers. I don't know what it was, I'm not OCD but I it really anoyed me for some reason. I also hated the lego block people and the way the game sometimes took it self too seriously.
 
What I hate about this game ('cept the untimely death of Aerith) Is that we clearly see Tseng die but here he is revived and alive in AC :tooweird: That seriously annoyed me.

That and Elena...

There will be no mass flaming going on at all on these forums. If you're caught doing so, you will be infracted. People ARE entitled to hate this game without you or anybody else trashing on them. No, he's not advertising his forums because there's no link to them obviously.
 
I can't stand how forced some characters are. I really dislike Tifa's theme too, it's so... I don't know.. empty.

EDIT: Is it against the rules to advertise other forums? Cuz I've seen other people here with that kind of stuff in their signatures....

I hate the fact that there's some things where you NEED walkthroughs. Well I suppose its good that it makes you work for it but if we had no walkthrough then..... -__-
 
The materia system.

I hated the fact you had to limit your magic and the fact it usually weakened your characters, also the leveling up of said materia I don't know if its just me since I loathe leveling up in general and you barely get any AP to start with. I suppose this is combated by abusing the copy item glitch and going crazy with Magic Pots, I also hated the fact theres a restricted limit on summons and I agree with the person who said about the battle models, and the field models that really annoyed me.

I was sad when Aerith died not because I liked her but she had the best limit breaks, I was especially sad when Cloud lived.

I'm a huge fan, but there are elements I hate. I'm 99% sure every fan hates at least ONE element of FF7.

For me, most of all, it's the graphics. Originally, it may or may not have supposed to be released on the Dreamcast, which explains the sudden wreck of graphics that was composed. It is easily believable that a Dreamcast-promised game would be acceptable for the PS1.

But, I could go on. Despite the accuracy of the Dreamcast rumour, the fact that I hate the graphics is valid.
 
The thing I hate most about Final Fantasy VII is the duplication bug with 2x items.

I mean who doesn't do this? lol at least on mega exliars.


Also, i can't stand how people cheat with the PC version then post their videos on youtube like they are legit.
 
The thing I hate about this game is how.........unclear Sephiroth seems to be with his motives. I mean, I love the guy, he's one of my favorite villains, but, I don't know, something just didn't seem clear with his reasons. I was fine with everything else though (even though Aerith's death scene shattered my poor heart....).
 
Above all else, the graphics. They seriously kept me from taking the story seriously, unlike all the latter FFs, where I could relate to the characters. I mean, lego figures. >_< Jeez. Uh, although I guess I haven't played it for years, so I'll try to 'reimagine' everything as though it all looks like AC did, as it happens. Maybe then I'll begin to like the game more. =\
 
I guess its the fanboys that drive me insane. Im not starting a flame war at all, far from. But I just hate it when you say "I prefer FF8 to 7" and then some fanboy jumps down your throat demanding to know why you like 8 when 7 has Sephiroth, Cloud and Tifa, etc. It just drives me mad.

I'm with you on this one. The fanboy wars have turned me off of games before. I was leery of playing VII when I bought it.

I think for me, my least favorite things about VII have been Yuffie and the lack of organization for the materia. Yuffie is a rather annoying giggly bit of fanservice that just irritates me. As far as the materia goes, it gets rather old having to go with all of that w/out a quick means of sorting it. Also, I agree that having magic-based material weaken your characters is also a PITA.

Oh and a lot of the minigames in Wonder Square are either rehashes from previous part of the game or just seem flat out buggy to me.

 
I also agree, However, Im not letting some silly fanboys put me off a brilliant game.
As for the Materia system, Sure it was a bit 'Long-winded' But it was a way of progression, so you cant really complain.
The spins offs did ruin it a little bit but completly, all in all it was and is still an EPIC game, and always will be!
