Chaining Hellvinik

[Icarus]

The Rare Game, Hellvinik, has a chance to drop the rare chestpiece "Grand Armor". It can be a real bitch to get, but there is a way to get enough for your party in about an hour.
1. Get it to appear by killing 6 Oversouls.
2. Lure it over to the end of a zone.
3. Beat the tar out of it.
4. This part is kinda tricky. You need to grab the loot that appears (if it does) and then exit the zone before Hellvinik falls on the ground.
5. Now, Hellvinik will teleport in front of you in the next zone.
6. Repeat steps 2-6 ad nauseum.

To add onto this I suggest two things.1. Don't take the loot till the highest chain level.
2. Turn on Wait in the Options menu for gameplay, and hit X the second you kill Helvinek. This pauses the game, but the loot continues to drop. This will save you the time of waiting for the loot to drop as you stand nex to him, AND it lets you know if the loot will even drop at all.

I only got 1 Grand Armour from Hellvinik because Dark Elemental was an ass and sprawned near Hellvenik and one of my characters ended up killing it somehow.

Ah well.

And yeah, the loot sort of 'forcedrops' itself if you have Wait mode on and the Chain meter shows up, and you press X to the battle menu. It's handy to tell if Hellvenik is going to drop something or if he isn't going to drop anything at all. I did the same with Dustia.

I got 2 Grand armors from my latest chain. I now have about 10 in my inventory. Now if getting a Grand Helm was this easy....

yeah i've done that and got more than enough grand armour. If you need help there are youtube videos you can find that walk you through it too
