I found the original game found with all my other PS2 games about a week ago and decided to play it. The game is a classic and I'm glad I found it. I want to get Dark Cloud 2 too, never picked it up in 2003. I am currently addicted to the game and have been playing it for a week now.

Does anyone else relate to this game or have played it?

I remember playing this game when I was a teenager. I think I was half-way through it too but for some reason, I stopped playing it. Not sure why since I actually loved the game and spent lots of time building/decorating the towns and such. Story-wise...I didn't really care for that much...or the characters for that matter. The gameplay was what won me over, really. I'd like to try out Dark Cloud 2 someday...I don't even know if it's a lot better than the first one or what. I'll read some reviews later.

I remember only ever playing the demo of the game, because I could never actually find a proper version of it :( It was ace though and it's one I keep meaning to get a hold of and play.

As Mitsuki said, it was really the gameplay that worked so well that made me play the demo over and over.

This was a so-so game IMO. I did enjoy it but the story was really lacking and the dungeons got really repetitive. The parts of the story that were well told though, did draw me in.

I would strongly recommend Dark Chronicle (Dark Cloud 2 for you Americans :wacky:). It builds on the foundations made by this game and improves on everything. It's a fantastic game so I strongly recommend it .

This game has something to do with "magic orbs" right?

You have to run into dungoeons and things like that, collect the orbs to rebuild towns and improve your character or something?

If that's right then I definitely remember this game and I loved it, If not the game I'm thinking of is not Dark Cloud, but it was good....

I played it a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time ago XD It was different Ill admit, but I never stuck to it. Got pretty boring after a while of dungeon fighting.

I thought it was an interesting game. :griin: I remember having it although, dun't know where it is.... :hmmm: Could've sold it=X but, I remember the game and how you went through dungeons and you'd rebuild towns... something like that. I think i've played the 2nd one though, I dont really remember it in vivid details.

I bought it when it came out and played it once. I gave it to my younger brother who loved it. But after fighting through the dungeons and having to constantly replenish his thirst, it got boring quick. :wtf:

We played it, and we eventually beat it. T'was hard as hell though. After a while it got a little repetitive. However, we eventually went through the secret dungeon... And we were never the same again.

Dark Cloud 2, even though we haven't beaten it yet, is awesome. Although at times the story can get kind of corny and the main character is whiny at times... The gameplay is solid though. In fact, we have a copy of it, so we're probably going to play it again soon.

They really went over the top with the new town building system. The plot is loads better, and combat is fantastic. We really do love it loads more than the 1st. We would recommend it to anyone. :D

Are there endless, repetitive battles in the dungeons again? Because frankly, that and the constant rebuilding weapons and drinking water was...annoying.

A robot? What? What does that play in the plot? C';

What's the story anyway? How good is it from 1 - 10?

Story... We would go with 7.5/10.

The robot is your creation. The main character invents things. Also, that reminds us, the game has a "invent" system. By taking pictures of random objects and piecing them together, you can invent new weapons and such.

Oh, 7 is pretty good I guess. :P

If I ever get extra money, then I will defiantly get the game. Creating weapons sure sounds fun. ^^

never played the first dark cloud before but i really enjoyed the second one alot. monica (i believe that was her name) was just such a great character and a princess too. it was especially cool when you unlock her princess attire and that was just awesome with her running around with some of the cool looking weapons that they had. that was one i thing i really like, there was a lot of different swords and they each look different.

had a lot of fun side quest too like fishing, and im sure there were others too maybe. but there was deffinitely a lot of things to do in this game, fighting is a little repeptative but most action rpgs battling system is bound to get repetative sooner or later

I borrowed this game from a friend years ago, but ended up giving it back only a day or so later because I just really couldn't get into it.

I like RPGs with stories and characters, and the building your own town thing didn't appeal to me at all. I was just forcing myself to play it for the few hours I did before I sighed in relief and popped Star Ocean 3 back into my PS2 xD

But I don't want to say this is a bad game, just that it didn't appeal to me personally :/
