...I don't like losing when it comes to videogames. I can handle getting beat a few times, but if it continues over and over for an extended amount of time, I really start to lose my temper.

To the point! I've destroyed quite a lot of gaming equipment as a result of my frustration at defeat! When I say "alot," I mean A LOT. I'm gonna take a trip through memory lane and attempt to account for everything I've destroyed. Everything listed is stuff I've destroyed.

Let's begin with the Sega Saturn, my first console.

Sega Saturn

Estimate: 5 controllers

Game Boy

Game Boy Pocket console
Game Boy Color console
Game Boy Original console (fuck you, Taz...that game sucked, anyway)
Pokemon Silver
Mortal Kombat II

Playstation I

Estimate: 3 controllers

Nintendo 64

2 controllers

Playstation II

Estimate: 10 controllers

Gamecube

Estimate: 6 controllers

Xbox

Estimate: 4 controllers

DS

DS console

Xbox 360

Estimate: 5 controllers (Halo 3 is the most infuriating game I've played)
4 microphones

Playstation III

Nothing as of yet. I've been a good loser.

Wii

Nothing as of yet.

Sooo, I've obliterated roughly 35 controllers in my day. Hell, the number could be higher. I couldn't possibly recall every controller I've broken. It makes gaming more expensive than I'd like it to be.

Moving on!

I'm not a sadistic maniac, though it may seem that way. For those of you who get REALLY angry at videogames, you may be able to relate. I'm a totally different person when I play videogames.

Anyone else care to share a list of the gaming stuff they've eliminated? haha

...Wow.

Well, can't say I've actually broken any games or controllers. I'm very careful with my games and controllers. However, I did break a keyboard (about two months ago) because my younger brother was pissing me off. He was playing his PC game while arguing with me, deliberately taunting me.

Now, usually I'm ok when I argue with people. But if I know that you are taunting me, I will lose my temper. And so I did. I grabbed the keyboard and pulled the plug out, then slammed it on the desk - right in front of him.

...In the end I ended up buying a new keyboard for 12 bucks. The old one I broke was also mine. >.>

Once and a while I lose my temper, but I have never really broken anything... When I get really frustrated, I squeeze my controller really hard and swear loudly. It happened a lot when I played Mario Kart Double Dash. I might have broken one controller, but I'm not sure if it was me or my brother...

You need a bit of help, my friend.

Do I? I didn't post the thread to have myself analyzed, but thanks for your concern.

Either you play too many games

Not as much as I used to. I've realized that I can't handle videogames well, so I don't push it.

get too engrossed in them

Perhaps on occasion. I get angry at games where I play other actual players like Halo 3 on Xbox Live. When it comes to single player games, I'm fine. No one is beating me that way. ;)

... or have a violence disorder.

A disorder? I bet I have a few of those, but I don't think I have a violence disorder. That list evolved over 15 years...so it is rather infrequent. Maybe if my carpet was softer the controllers wouldn't break. That's how it goes: I throw the controller/handheld console down and the analog will snap. I don't take a bat to the things or anything. haha

Yeah, I blame the carpet. =D

I have never intentionally destroyed a piece of my gaming equipment.

The only time something has stopped working was because of age or because of it kept being moved around (My Turbo Duo for example) so it doesn't work all the time.

Holy moley thats alot of broken stuff o_o

Iv only really broken control pads I get so annoyed that they just get launched.

Tekken used to be the main culprit for that

Oh mario has round me up on more than one occassion when I make foolish mistakes (usually super mario world or summin)

I threw my bf's playstaion once because we were arguining about who got to play on it. In my defence he was a big fat arse hole

Oh and the stupidest incident was when I threw my control pad at my tv over one of those stupid yaroze games you got on demo discs...it didnt break my tv but it definately broke summin inside because the opicture went green & thats the colour I had to complete FFVIII in for the first time

Final fantasy X and its side quests just used to reduce me to biting the control pad. I hate the onion knight with a passion:dry:

Is this because of dealing with certain people on Xbox Live on Halo 3 by any chance?

Never destroyed any controllers/consoles ever although I have been tempted a few times. Most of my stuff just breaks because of overuse.

I intentionally broke an old PS1 controller, just for the hell of it, and to see if I could put it back together and make it work. I couldn't, but taking a pick-axe to them is rather theraputic. :wacky:

Nearly every other PS1 control I had broke somehow. The connector pins somehow used to pull out, but not stay in the console, luckily.
Same thing happened with my Gamecube too. =/

Well, certain people don't help. Being taunted by the people who are beating me definitely doesn't improve my chances of keeping my cool. If the other team is a gracious winner, I tend to behave well. If the other team verbally harrasses me as they kill me over and over, naturally, I get a bit bothered.

Oooh, I'll explain the headset situation since it irritates me when this happens. When I break a controller, I do so by throwing it at the ground in frustration. My headset happens to be connected to the soon-to-be flying projectile...so that usually breaks with the controller. I should invest in a wireless headset. =D

There's really no good excuse for getting so ticked at a videogame. It's petty. Not a good trait to have.

Haha, I guess that's true. My passion would be better placed in my studies, but I'll take it!

I appreciate you putting a positive spin on things, sir. :D I'm not exactly proud of breaking several dozen controllers.

Well I punched my old PS X once because the game just "froze" during a final battle that I was trying to beat for about half an hour and was finally winning. The console got back to normal after the first smack :monster:

While playing other games, I don't like to lose so I enjoy training an overpowering monsters and bosses. I have a "lose" limit:
-1 Lose...ok
-2 Loses...hmmm
-3 Loses..... hmmm
-4 loses :brooding:
-5 loses :stare: tch...fucking game....
-6 loses
-7 and up
Angry.gif
*sighs* That's it! Game Over....*turns off console and goes to do some physical training most of the times getting over my own limits. I do more repetitions, lifts more weight, runs faster and have a seriously bad mood.*

Now I just..meh... turn off the console....still during Online playing I HATE "All against One" :stare:

Maybe but I feel it's justified in the case of Halo 3 since 95% of the players are egocentric ignorant dickholes. Even my patience was tested with some people.

Amen, and I really hate when they think they are all "high and mighty" just because they can pawn others

Still, hitting some with a Rocket Launcher when they less expect is so great :devil2:

There are A LOT of pricks playing Halo 3 on Xbox Live...that's for sure. When I switch over from Halo 3 to Call of Duty 4, I'm amazed by how much more pleasant the majority of the players are.

Halo fanboys are detestable. I had one guy wish a painful death on me because I took the sniper rifle he wanted. Even when I offered to switch weapons with him, he told me he'd rather watch me suck with it. That's downright unreasonable!

I wonder what makes people act that way towards complete strangers. Very odd...

Lack of a sex life maybe? They just take the game way too seriouslyin the the end and act like pricks when they win or lose, whatever the score.

that's what the buddy system is for, otherwise known as gangraep. :wacky:

I love it when someone acts like a prick in Halo and I ask a friend to invite them while I'm at my bud's house. It's epic lulz to hear them bitch and whine through their microphone as we blow them to smitherenes with Energy Swords and Rocket launchers. I think we once pissed off a dude so bad he actually destroyed his controller, so we kept raeping him until the battle ended. :monster:

But i haven't really destroyed a lot of my game system equipment compared to Moogles here. xD

I've destroyed two gameboy advances, a few games for it, three playstation dualshock 2 controllers, I've destroyed Final Fantasy Tactics for PS1 twice, and destroyed my second and first disc to Final Fantasy VII.(the first one was an accident that happened while i was beating the shit out of Final Fantasy Tactics with a wrench :wacky:)

I've never actually broken any of my gaming equipment. I reckon I have come close though, luckily I've been able to cool myself down before I did any damage.

lol my friends however managed to break my ps2, while playin dragonball Z budokai 3 they screwed up the controller port so it was extremely delicate and the slightest jolt would unplug the controller. Then a little while later a friend delivered the finishing blow while playing Guitar Hero 2, he was rocking a lil too hard and destroyed the controller port so the PS2 resets if you plug in a controller. I wasn't too mad though coz I got my PS3 a few weeks later.
