I'd not really noticed what that had been before. I think I'd assumed it was part of the church that had fallen in.

Now that you've brought this to my attention it does make sense. It's certainly more rockety than church-spirey. And it fits what Cid said too.

I thought it was nearly impossible to notice anything new but people do keep finding new things for FFVII once in a while. Thanks. :argor:
 
I never actually put two and two together before... I thought it was just some stupid thing they put in the way to show that Aerith and Cloud can jump :elmo:

:lew: I do remember seeing that, but I had little knowledge about the game at the time and, even so, would never have put two and two together. Methinks I, like Bambi, thought it was a fallen steeple. :wacky:

This is indeed news to me, I always thought it was a pillar from the church that had collapsed in....I think it's cause back then you didn't see the whole thing in frame which you would then think different of it. As well as putting information at least twenty hours later from something at the beginning is very clever and an amazing find!

It does sort of make me wonder what else I've missed in the rest of the games.
I haven't played any of them for AGES either.
 
I don't know if it happened to anyone else, but the bgm made me want to play Final Fantasy VII again. This is a problem because I don't have a working controller for my PS3 :(.

Back onto topic! I, too, didn't notice that until I saw the video a little while ago. My brain exploded because of that. I like when Game Creators do little things like that. To me it adds to the experience and gives it replay value.
 
I was doing my No Materia Game a couple days ago [At Gold Saucer atm] and I noticed the rocket. I never did realize that it was the first failed launch that Cid would later describe though. Crazy.
 
i always thought it was a pillar. but now that i look at it again, i guess it does look like a rocket.

i just have a thing about ignoring rockets. i didn't realize that there was a fucking rocket in the middle of netherstorm until the other day and I've been playing World of Warcraft since 2007
 
Whoa! I had no clue about that.
It really is amazing how everyone's still finding new stuff in this game when it's old enough to get a driving permit. Just unreal!
