012: Duodecim Duodecim English Battle Video Previews

The big ol' Duodecim Discussion Thread is already pretty large and aside from the same info getting posted several times over, it's just easy for a post to get overlooked, so I decided just to make a new thread for this :P

If you guys check out EU's Duodecim site, you'll see the site is currently having an elimination tournament going on. At the end of each voting match (that you can vote for if you want to ;D), they'll actually put up a Duodecim battle vid of the two characters with the result posted at the end (i.e. who wins xD). Should be interesting see what EU and NA can expect from the game, especially with the new characters.

First up was Laguna vs. Sephiroth



Second up was Yuna vs. Jecht


Third up was Gabranth vs. Cloud



Fourth up is Lightning vs. Ultimecia

I didn't know this was occuring through D= I'd best log on and get voting now. I'm just shocked they're actually doing something with that site at last.
 
I say NA is the one that's the most behind in regards to Duodecim to be honest. Also, I was also able to vote, so you don't have to log in to an account or anything. Just click vote ;D

Looks like the next one up if Jecht vs. Yuna O.O

But tbh, I'm really happy, but really shocked Laguna won that last round, I don't think the Sephiroth fantards knew of this vote xD Either that, or people are finally figuring out that Sephiroth sucks.
 
lol how can you be shocked Laguna has the edge in range and speed ;P

anywho a match between Jecht and Yuna my money is on Yuna as well I think her Aeon style combat will beat Jecht but If jecht can still block almost all HP Attacks then Yuna might lose dunno hope Im right
 
Even if Jecht can block them, summons should be ranged attacks so Yuna can still get away from Jecht's attacks :wacky:

The votes decide, my friend, not skill xD You just gotta click on the duodecim website and click who you want to win, and then in 5 days times, whoever gets the most votes will win the fight.

Kinda sucks that the fights will have some sort of predictability, alas.
 
u only just found this i knew for weEks and i put it up on the sequal thread XD anyhow yuna for round 2.. unlike jecht who is all close combact yuna can change her style... so she can change to range attacks to own jecht XD

And there's my point-I didn't see your post, so it's easy to lose stuff in that discussion thread :/

Jecht vs Yuna would be interesting if you just think about the theory. Jecht a Final Aeon against Yuna who can control the "lesser" Aeon...Jecht's got the physial power all on his own, but Yuna just summoning whoever she wants does seem like an overkill itself. Maybe there's some limits we're not aware of for Yuna yet?
 
The only nurf i can really see being put on yuna is maybe a Cooldown time between each Aeon cast...

and maybe when she goes into Ex mode the Cooldown time is Reduced alot but other than that I dont think Yuna will be Nurfed too badly
 
She literally just calls the summons for a second to deliver the attack, they don't stick around or take damage for her I think, think of it more as a dramatic attack animation if anything. At least thats what I remember reading. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe if the summons take damage, you won't be able to use them again for a while, like when your assist gets hit.
 
I can see that happening too. Personally I think The way theyll make Yuna fair is that her HP attacks are somewhat slow. while her Brave attacks are Kinda fast. Yuna can brave raep all she wants but She needs perfect timing in order to use the brave for Damage. and in EX mode it would be reversed. Or this could go vice versa So Fast HP attacks slow brave attacks then reversed in EX mode.
 
hmmmmmm just because she has aeons doesn't mean she will be strong... it will just be like any other person but she has aeons insted of weapons XD
 
Watched the Laguna/Sephiroth vid again, and I can't believe I'm saying this, Laguna's VA is started to sound a little annoying. In particular that "Look Out!" line he spouts actually really grates on me X_x

As for Sephiroth, well, he sounds as he always does. Very stoic and unemotional xD

EDIT: Jecht vs. Yuna vid up on the first page. Is it just me, or does Yuna not know the names of her aeons? xD

Next up is Gabranth vs. Cloud ^^
 
@Summoner: I dunno, some of her pronunciations were off. Who the feck is Bahmut, or Frit? :wacky:

Also-I just realized Shiva is only half there, just popping out of a portal. I wouldn't mind seeing her full body. She's so hawt in FFX :ness:

(although is her summon in the game still the FFVIII version? :hmmm: )

Anyways, Gabby vs Chocobo-head is up now on the first page, so check it out. I'm sure you can guess the winner xD

It wasn't much to see, but I'm surprised-I don't remember Gabranth having so much lift in Dissidia as he appears to have in Duodecim.

I will say Lightning's VA is still as awesome as ever, but I found her cries and gasps fell short a bit form how she sounded in FFXIII. I dunno, but that's just me :lew:

And Ultimecia still has that sexy laugh ;D

Anyways, next voting round is Laguna vs. Yuna. Oh boy, who to choose? O.O
 
it sounds like that lighting is having a orgasm everytime she got hit to the point that my parents asked what i was watching :rofl:
 
I like how the BGM from FFXIII is in the game. Although I am not fond of the game (been playing it on and off ever since it came out and still have yet to beat it), the BGM was pretty good.
