I'm playing FF7 again, and am climbing the Shinra building now...It made me wonder, though, how everyone else prefered to enter the building. I realize that the "stealthy" approach has awesome dialog, but I prefer to just run in for the sake of XP, and to chase the people around the lobby (very awesome passtime). Also, WHY do you prefer that method?

And, for the record, I did a search on this topic and didn't find anything, so...yeah. o_O

I've done the stealthy way once just to see the dialogue. It was entertaining. I prefer running into the building through the front door though. It's more fun.

It doesn't give you THAT many more fights...maybe two, if you don't count the random encounters. I don't remember if the elevator bit happens if you're stealthy or not <.> So I'm not counting that. Not really that worth it, unless you need the items, you can get them upstairs from the shop I think are the only benifits of bothering with being there.

I always liked rushing in causing a big scene, was never a fan of sneaking past the enemy. But I liked the elavator part the most, can't remember if it happens in the sneaking method or not. Hmm... >.>

I remember at first, I would just take the stealth way, because I thought that it would get me some increased affection from Tifa. When I realized it had no effect, I was like, "Screw it. Let's bust on in!", for the simple fact that it was so badass to do so. There was always this cool feel of busting in there and taking them head on. Of course, in reality it wouldn't be very bright, even Cloud on the elevator says that he wanted to avoid causing such a disruption. But it's too fun of a feel to pass up.

Although yeah, I love the dialogue on the stairs. It's great character interaction, so that always made it an enjoyable route. I used to race them too, haha.

I did it just a moment ago about level 12, and didn't seem to have any trouble? Are you much below that?

I took the side entrance (not sure why I chose that option looking back, I guess I just thought it would be easier), and the dialogue you get as you go up the stairs almost makes it worth it on its own. Oddly the stairs in the building where I work remind me a little of Shinra Tower XD

I'm a moron. I go all the way to the top the sneaky way, get all the items, then go back down and charge in the front. I always wound up missing the Turtle Paradise poster if I didn't do that.

Given how much I use items (not much, these days), I will almost certainly only storm in the front way in future.

First time I played I took the stealthy approach, I wished I hadn't til I got the amusing dialogue, it just went on and on and on, every playthrough after I just stormed in until my last play through, stealthed my way in, then went back down to grab the items (and exp) I was missing out on :gonk:

for me it depends on my mood. if i wanna get ppl stronger ima bust in anyway, and if i wanna just get it done without worryin bout fightin others the stealthy way. if i feel cocky i bust in.

I've only played this once, and I took the stairs. I loved the banter between Barret and Tifa. That was priceless! XD But, if I were to play it again, I may attempt to walk in through the front.

I've done both of these multiple times, and only on one occasion did i take the stealthy approach, im a leveling whore and i like to be overleveled always, so i just had to see the dialogue once, but otherwise... i needed the experience.

Wow. I feel dumb now for never thinking about going the stealthy way, then back down for the exp :gonk:

Not so smart am I.

And, for the record, this was my first time getting the turtle paradise poster (only cause I was reminded to do so by my GF) so whoo!

Rofl...

I've only ONCE busted into the front... In my entire 500,000,000,000 times of playing the game. (You get the point). After that I always took the staircase. Two reasons.

1) Didn't want to give Barret the go ahead, over Tifa's smart way of thinking.
2) I want that mega-elixer. :gasp:

After going the horrible, yet fucking amazingly amusing way up, I go back all the way down with the elvators, to read the turtle paradise flyer, and fight. :D

Wasn't it...? There was some sort of blue bottle on the staircase...

Guess you'll be restarting, huh, Jeff? rofl.

There is an Elixir on the stairs, about midway up. If you don't grab this now, you will be unable to get a nice weapon 50-60 hours later, when you return.

Is something I read on a site. I have NO idea, what they mean with "a nice weapon" though...

Edit: It's a normal Elixer, btw.
