A tale Retold of the old Evanescent Fairytale
Theme

A new morning in a New Year began as the world of Agia awakens from yet another slumber. All citizens of the world began their day in a great leisurely manner unsuspecting that someone somewhere was planning something destructive. That someone was a particularly nasty piece of work who now strode through a small town named Cia. This person was a male elf named Orine, Malhide and his intentions were of no good.

Robed in a green cloak with his blonde hair seeming to flow endlessly behind him, Orine headed towards the Mana Tree, which stood even closer than he had imagined. The tree stood miles high and shaded the small town from the harsh beating of the sun. The small town had also been nestled within the giant tree’s roots, making it the biggest known mana exposed town and the central place for mana practice of the element of earth. After a brief moment of taking in the sight Orine concentrated upon his objective. He scanned the central roadway of the village until he spotted a short, pudgy looking man with a large mustache.

Orine had finally got to meet with the tour guide he was looking for who was a native of the town. Walking up to the man, both had paused and gazed into each other's eyes. The short man had eyes of blue and looked uneasily at the giant elf stranger who stood before him, as if expecting something. Orine gazed down upon the short man eyeing him for five minutes before finally speaking in a calm tone. “Are you going to watch me all day you filthy human or are you going to show me to the tree?” he spoke. “Not only are you stupid, your hideous face-rat disgusts me…”

“Oh!” replied the short tour guide, stroking his mustache out of shame. “T-this way sir! We don’t get many tourists like you around these par-“

“More walking less talking.” Snapped Orin.

The short man close his mouth immediately and surveyed this demanding customer. Orin pulled out a closed black sack and held it up by it's string which held it closed. “If you can get me to the tree’s mana site in less than 30 minutes I’ll pay greatly as a reward.” Said Orin grinning maniacally as the many coins within clapped together.

“Right this way!” the short man gasped as he hurried Orin over to a pathway leading directly towards the mana tree and away from the village. The path was a short ways away from the village, but it had led towards a cliff, where the thick godly trunk of the tree could be seen while it's roots littered the deep crater in which it sat. The tree was at least three miles tall.

"Onto this rock." The short mustached man spoke pointing to a flat rock that looked like a rug carpet carved from the earth.

This time Orine obeyed and patiently waited as the short man had begun to spin his hands in a circle. The feeling of an invisible energy had come in a wave, rushing over them both as the small man waved his hands round and round. Orine grunted in disgust. He had never once been able to use the gift of mana energy. The square shape of land had begun to rise rapidly from the ground, growing larger and bringing the two upward north until finally they had traveled a mile and a half north and a ledge seeming to have been mana made from the bark and branches of the mana tree itself.

Orine rushed off the platform and onto the ledge, following it into the dark entrance which lead into the tree's trunk. He walked fast, fast enough to make the small tour guide run full speed from behind him in order to catch up. The guide caught up a while later and led Orine through the path leading deeper inside the tree’s core. The tree road inside had been hollowed out and lit with fire torches that casts violent shadows on the many small exhibits and reading within “But sir, don’t you want to look at the exhibits?” asked the tour guide as the elf traveled forward without even a glance .

“I'm looking for the tree’s core I have never seen the sight before…” said Orine motioning forward. "With haste! With haste! There’s no time to waste!”

Orine walked on towards the path to the core of the mana tree. He could see the blue glow coming from further inside the trunk and ran ahead of the confused tour guide. “Why must I always get stuck with the weird customers?” muttered the guide under his breath as he ran after Orine.

There it was, the core hollow of the Mana Tree. The elf had traveled for five days to get to this point. He pressed his face against the glass of a separating pane to look out into the center of the mana tree where blue strands of raw magic power floated, stirring, colliding, and splitting. He had found the source of all magic. Now he could resurrect the one who had made the world quiver in fear. “Um, sir? You’re not supposed to lean on the glass. It might bre-“started the guide.

Orine had already struck the glass with a sword he had kept concealed under his green cloak. He jabbed at the large glass pane separating him from the tunnel of blue flowing mana until it finally shattered. Wind seemed to be trying to suck Orine inside of the tree trunk, but the Elf held his footing. “Heeheehee!” went Orine’s chuckle as a smile began to slide across his face.

He gazed toward the short tour guide and dropped the black sack into the tree’s hollow center filled with mana and reached his arm inside the stream of mana strands floating up and down with his sword in hand. His sword began to crystallize before his eyes. The tour guide watched in horror as Orin pulled out the emerald crystalline blade. With a quick slash, the short man was cut down, dead before his soul could realize it. “Little filthy human likes to complain. Now go tell the gods of your shame!” chuckled Orin as he happily chuckled and jogged out of the Mana Tree as fast as he could.

The contents of the black sack had gone off in an explosion once it had fallen deep deep down inside of the mana tree. The ground began to rumble. All around the earth began to shake. There were no bounds or limit's to it's vibration, for a violent earthquake ravaged the world of Agia upon the beginning of it's 1000th year of peace.

Dea Nyx Nocits Umbras

Inauspicious Signs

A sheet of a thousand year Rathian Tree papter laid spread out on a portable drawing board. Its surface was criss crossed with contour lines, intricate pathways accurate to the slightest curve, landmarks, longitude and latitude lines as well as decorations here and there. Right there was an exquisite piece of art, truly well and beyond any map that may be found anywhere. At the helm of the pen that had just sketched yet another line was Dea Nyc Noctis Umbras. The young Wheltch girl sat upon the gentle slope of a grassy green hill that overlooked pasture lands near Cia.

Ah.... it is almost complete.... Mrs Johannas would be pleased. With this, Farmer Johannas would stop getting lost amongst the back roads... Now... what shall i choose for motifs....?

As she mused on what she should draw, a herd of fluffy and sleepy sheeps lumbered over the back side of the hill and began grazing by her. Dea gave a soft smile, something she would never do back when she was in the city, and slowly, dipped the metal dipped nib into the inkwell and began to draw the outlines of grazing merinos. The flock she was drawing was going smoothingly and just before she was about to finish the final sheep a heavy shock shook the hill she sat on, sending the sheeps bleating and panicking whilst throwing Dea off balance.
Th Merino's huddled down in fear around Dea, giving her a softer fall. The shake was horrendous and it took Dea's all to get off her back and onto her knees with the help of the sheeps. The precious bottle of Kraggen Squid Ink lay spilt on the grass and specks of ink had speckled her map. It wasn't much, but for Dea, perfection as everything, particularly when it came to her maps.

What in the blazes is going on?!

Anarchia Iilyavich Vesperia - Sevensheep

Foreign Lands

Lightning crackled around Anarchia as she was thrown through the dimensional hallway. Cracks similar to what had opened up showed glimpse of images of the world outside. Whether that was her world or not was questionable as she saw dinosaurs, knights, aliens and space ships. Anarchia wasn't sure if she was hallucinating or if she had hit her head, but what was happening to her was almost like the effects one felt after taking psychedelic drugs. Colours flew everywhere and she was seeing things. She did not like this. Not one bit. Drugs was the epitome of disgrace and no self respect. So intolerable of it that she had been under scrutiny for spontaneously publicly executing a dealer that she had passsed by. One said crack suddenly widened and a large silver saucer sliced straight into the hallway, missing Anarchia by mere inches before it shot, with control, away from Anarchia.

What in damnation was that?!

Before she could even compute an answer to her own question, yet another crack split wide open, excpet this time, it's wind had taken hold of Anarchia and with great force, spat the Captain out of the hallway. As she came out, the crack sealed itself almost instantly and within seconds, all that she saw was the sky. Her teal eyes blinked in slight confusion before an "all too familiar" gut wrenching pull snapped her back to focus. She was free falling.

Of course Anarchia could tell when she felt vertigo. After all, she did lead the elite paratroopers of Balaika. However, parachuting without a chute was a first. First things first, Anarchia twisted so she faced back down towards the ground. Her eyes were no good if they were just staring blankly at the sky. This way, she could judge how much distance she had. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on who it was, Anarchia estimated she had about 29 km of free fall. In only her great coat and her normal uniform, going about it normally was pushing it even for Anarchia. Exciting the blood and nerves in her blody as well as streamlining herself, Anarchia accelerated as fast as possible, using her bloodline powers to keep herself from freezing. The next minute was the most excruciating and nerve wracking minute of Anarchia's life as she felt her life draining from her body. Only the relieving feeling of the air beginning to heat up did it tell her that she was going to survive. Now was phase two.... landing.

It was a roll of the dice. She might as well try something, anything. Either way, it was splat for her. Anarchia was going to try and deploy a HALO maneuver, except rather than a chute, she was going to gather all the electrical power she can muster and explosively blast it right before impact, hoping that the shockwave would be enough to throw her back. By all theoretical calculations, the blast she as going to do did have the appropriate force, but theory was theory, practice was practice. All Anarchia could do was wait for the final inevitable moment as the ground came rushing towards her face and with one final prayer, let off her blast. The resulting electrical discharge was indescribable. Like she had wanted it to, the blast had enough forced to blast her back upwards. Accompanying the explosive impact was a massive thunderbolt that lit up the sky, even though it was daytime and an ear splitting crack that echoed for miles.. A two meter deep crater was the result from the blast, which ultimately threw Anarchia 7 meters into the air before she fell heavily into the crater. Despite the crushing force from the fall and the shockwave plus the 9 meter fall, Anarchia was battered, bruised and tired as hell, but alive. Her teal hair laid splayed out as was her arms and legs. All that she could do was lie there and rest until her motor functions returned.

Ugh..... Chert voz'mi.... Damnit.... this hurts like a bitch....

In this situation, Anarchia was willing to let herself get away with profanity.

The flashes of light exploded across the room as the light caught each indent and raised impression on the watch, the untarnished silver seeming to radiate light. It was turned around in the nobleman's hand, his delicate fingers working their way around the creation, looking for the minute signs of craftsmanship that would indicate the watch was real. His fingers brushed against the crest emblazoned atop it, the magic imbued within it making it glow slightly as it was held in the hands of the heir.

"So you say that it was given to you in this package," he said, gesturing towards a rather plain brown box, "and that you were instructed to come to Oevale to find me."

The voice was soft, but cold, as though an icy breeze was now drifting in the air.

"That's correct Lord Starke."

The messenger was nervous, not wanting to even make eye contact. His muscles were tense, expecting something to happen; he was in Therion Starke's prescence after all. The boy was strange, stranger than most of the Starke family. He never said much to anyone and in the rare cases he did, it was in that voice; just hearing it could send a shiver down your spine.

The servants weren't privy to the strange afflictions their masters had but often they could see something odd about them. The messenger was 29 and he knew that Therion was older then he was and yet he looked so much younger. There had been whispers among the servants of those who had angered Therion and were never seen again and always afterwards, a dry dessicated husk was found somewhere on the ground, like the remains of a cicada. They could only guess what afflicted Therion.

"Everything seems in order..." he murmured, rubbing his thumb on the crest.

The messenger froze at the word 'seems'. That meant he was still under suspicion.

"I-I assure you, it's a-all official, L-Lord Starke."

"I wasn't talking about that."

The messenger relaxed slightly now that he was safe from a forgery effort. But still, what could he be referring to?

"Who do you work for?"

"What?"

"Which one of my brothers do you work for?"

The messenger began to sweat.

"I-I don't work f-for any of th-them."

"Something tells me that you do."

The messenger was now visibly trembling, though whether out of fear for being found out or being under suspicion was unknown. His eyes widened in fear as a sword pressed against his carotid artery. The weapon came from behind, where the messenger could not see.

"Now, are you going to tell me, or do I have to use force?"

The messenger looked nervously from Therion to the blade at his throat but remained silent. The sword pressed down on his flesh and a few drops of blood seeped from under the blade. Reaching out, Therion's finger brushed against it, the droplets coalescing on the tip of his finger. He licked them off with a glimmer of a smile. The blade pressed more firmly against the flesh, the cut opening a little wider, blood turning into trickle.

"Marlexian..." he whispered, as though afraid the man he was betraying would hear him but even more afraid of what might happen to him at the hands of Therion.

"It was Marlexian..." he repeated, a touch louder.

The blade at his neck lifted and withdrew. The messenger spun his head around but saw nothing. As he turned back, he saw that Therion was even closer than before, the cold red eyes staring at him intently, as though trying to decide what to do.

"I would have expected him to come himself, but no matter. He has no use for a traitor and I haven't one either."

Before the messenger could utter another word, Therion's lips were clamped over the cut in his neck, and his blood was being sucked; not just his blood, but also his life.

It didn't take longer than three minutes to drain the corpse, leaving only a dry shell behind. Therion threw the shell against the empty wall and it shattered, the small motes of dust falling to the ground in a pile.

"Aleros."

As soon as the command was uttered, the demon appeared at his side, the same black blade that had been at the deceased messenger's neck now in its sheath at his side.

"We're leaving now; seems I have a family to take care of. And a lordship to claim."

With a silent nod, the demon acknowledged the instruction.

This information had come at an opportune time; Therion was only there to brew his potion from the abundant supply of herbs in the markets and surroundign areas; he had no real reason to stay. In fact, he had been entertaining going back to his lab at the manor. That being said, he was already half packed.

A single suitcase served as his luggage. It was a spacial distortion model, where the confines were markedly different from the outer dimensions by some hundred of meters and yet weighted a constant 20 pounds. Like anything the Starkes purchased, it was of the highest quality. Taking it in his hand, he surveyed the bare room of the cottage he had purchased in Oevale for his stay.

Aleros at his side, they left the small cottage and the street sprawled before him. As he walked down the street, those people who were out shied away from him and avoided eye contact. Therion had that effect on people, even if they had no idea who he was; he just had an aura of nobility.

They had just exited the city when the earthquake struck. Around them, trees were ripped from the ground and thrown to their sides, the branches just missing them and a few other travelers on the road. Behind them, the technomantic archway that served as the entrance to Oevale shattered, sending a peal of lightning to the sky that came back down scattered, bursting as it smashed into the nearby buildings and even setting trees on fire.

"Seems my brothers have gone to a considerable attempt to assassinate me," Therion murmured.

The sky was a bright perfect blue, there wasn't a single cloud to be seen, the sun was warm, the sound of people talking as they busily hurried down the shopping district of Siard South was soothing to the ears. Siard South was full of stalls and shops, they sold everything from weird and wonderful creatures to ordinary old groceries.

Tsuchi, a young Forest elf happened to run one of the Potions stalls, the stall itself was poorly constructed but it did the job, the pay wasn't good. It made her just enough money to survive and rent her little home out in Siard North. She was quite pretty and managed to attract a lot of customers but today was a really slow day.

She leaned over the counter and yawned heavily, lidded amber eyes staring up at the sky, following a couple of birds which were fluttering about together. She hated boring. She was beginning to loath her little town of Siard because nothing much of anything happened here. Until...

The ground around her feet began to shake, it took a moment for her to register what was going on and fully understood when one of the shoppers screamed out "Earthquake!!!" It was violent, the ground shook madly, the stall Tsuchi was in was creaking, she swore it was going to collapse on her.

She stumbled and tripped her way out of the store watching the people running like scared sheep, two of the more shoddy stalls had partially collapsed and then... the it was calm again. Tsuchi sighed a sigh of relief glad that her stall had not fallen but when she turned around there were a couple of shady guys grabbing at the potions on her shelves.

"Hey!!! HEY!" She cried as she began to enter the store "What do you think you're doing!?!?!"

But the two men didn't answer, instead the shoved the girl down so that she landed to the side and they fled out the door with some of the more rare of potions in their nap sack.

"Someone catch those guys!!!" She said scrambling to her feet and running out of the store. "They took my stuff!" she frowned...she wouldn't catch them now.

Entering the town of Siard South, Weiss began to look around for a potions stall selling what he needed. The sky was clear and the sun was bright today, good conditions for the day, assuming they lasted. Before he could find somewhere the earth began to shake violently, knocking Weiss off balance instantly as he tried to keep himself standing while the areas around him collapsed, staggering to maintain his balance the quake eventually subsided.

Almost as a respose to this, looters immediately emerged to steal from the ruined stalls, in the distance he spotted a potions stall carrying what he needed; mana potions. Not wanting to lose them Weiss ran in pursuit as he heard a woman's voice.

"Someone catch those guys!!!"

Weiss sighed as he stopped in his tracks and moved his hands forward to face the two looters, letting loose a weak fire spell from each hand, enough to keep them down but not enough to kill. Walking towards them Weiss picked up the stolen goods and walked towards the woman who was victim to their thievery as he held the potions to his chest "Are you okay? Here's the potions" Weiss said as he crouched down beside the ruined stall and set them down, having nowhere else to put them currently.

Earthly World

Riley awoke at the sound of a train buzzing past his small Newyork apartment. "Ugh," he moaned as he pulled the covers over his head.

He had dreamed that same dream again for the past 5 nights in a row. The dream of an odd fantasy creature and an earthquake. But lucky for him all of the rattling he had felt had come from the train's close proximity to his bed. Riley glanced at the clock by his bedside and with a groan he dragged himself up to dress himself for the day.

A pair of jeans, a tshirt and the rest of his basic essentials for the day later he was rushing out of his apartment building and hailing a cab to the airport. All the way over on the cab ride, he had been thinking of it. The tree in his dreams stood as tall as the empire state building at the very least, maybe taller. He rode the cab for what seemed like miles on the surprisingly empty 7a.m. streets until he approached the bustling airport.

This morning had Riley tired, so tired in fact that he had rushed out of the cab without paying the foreign cab driver. He rushed through the public place, pushing past people whe had incoveniently decided to stop walking right in front of him. After what seemed like hours of patdowns, Riley finally made it to the seating area where his childhood friend Sarah had stood waiting. She looked impatient and as soon as she saw Riley she stormed over, suitcase in hand. "You kept me waiting all this time?!" she almost yelled through the airport. "We could have done so much! But now I have to leave."

"You know I'm not good with time Sarah." he said wiping the sleep from his eyes, the dream still playing in his head. "I had that dream again."

"Give me a hug." demanded Sarah.

Riley obeyed and hugged his friend goodbye. "I hope you have a great time in Scotland."

"Oh I will!" said Sarah "You promised to write me every day! Don't forget!" said Sarah as she took hold of her suitcase and ran towards her flight which was now boarding all passengers.

Riley stood and watched. He stayed for the next thirty minutes to watch all of the people for her flight board and be seated until the large air vessel had finally taken off into the sky. After that he figured he might as well be headed home to think about his next song he was writing. It was a melody inspired by his dream of a glowing green tree and it reapeated the same chant over and over again.

Agia World

Orine huffed as he ran free of the Mana Tree's roots. The elf was as giddy as ever and had decided to pay a visit to a fellow he had used before. There were many trees and wood to go through before Orine could picture the slums of Siard upon the horizon and took his chance to enter the city. A long nosed man standing in a corner in a red cloak greeted him instantly. "Ah are you back to deliver another message good sir?" he long nosed man said as Orine greeted him.

"Has your messenger gone to the Noble Bradley or not?" Orine grunted, concealing his weapon inside his own cloak.

"Yes si-"

"Good. Now you can peacefully rot." Orine spoke not only cutting the man off, but cutting the man's stomach open with his blade and spilling the man's blood before the eyes of spectators.

The long nosed man had become a second victim to the elf's greed. Orine's next target would be the nobleman Bradley who had brought a very expensive possession of his that the elf required for his next task. "Come out come out wherever you are, from what I'm guessing you aren't too far." The elf chuckled as he walked on, not daring to be challenged but onlookers, lest their stomachs be carved out as well.

"Oh dear. The horses, pigs and sheep have been lost!" An old woman gasped as her barn atop a hill stood empty.

It was the sheer force of the quake that has set all of her animals free. "I at least need someone to help return two of my animals." the old woman spoke as she sat upon a grassy hill looking out towards the Mana Tree with a sense of lost hope.

Levont Ienten

Levont was tired. After all, to avoid drawing any unwanted attention to himself, the Twinling landed just off of the Mana Tree and magically hide his black wings. Between his invisible black wings, a serrated double edge scythe sat on his back, blade down. With everything all set, Levont started walking towards the town he does not know was named Cia.

"Man. This is the first city I have seen ever since I left the unknown lands. So this is the Mana Tree." Levont muttered as he walked toward the town.

Just as Levont took his first step, a sudden rumbling startled Levont as he was knocked to the ground.

"What the? An earthquake?! I gotta get off of the ground." Levont muttered as he dispelled the magic hiding his wings.

With a quick flap, Levont took off from the shaking ground and hovered there as he flew over to the town. Keeping out of range from the buildings, Levont watched as the people were knocked to the ground.

"What's happening?" Levont muttered as he watched the event unfold.

Soon enough, the earthquake finished from what he saw as he flew above town. It was then that he saw a girl in the fields near some sheeps. Levont decided to watch her a bit as he descended enough that he can get a better view.

"She's interesting. But why is she with the sheep?" Levont wondered not knowing that his voice can be heard by said girl if she listened.

OOC: Ok. Apparently, my cousin decided to run rampant with my beginning post. So I'll just leave this post here alone, change my password and beat the snot out of him as soon as I can find him.

OOC: Oli, i can make that farmer woman Mrs Johannas? Or is she a npc u need? If so, say the word and ill edit

Dea Nyx Noctis Umbras

After Effect

Like all quakes, it was over as soon as it begun. The sheeps were now back to bleating weakly as they mulled around Dea, legs still weak from their ordeal. For a few seconds, she sat there, mind reeling from the quake, but then, a feeling in her hands brought her attention back to her map. As she had suspected, there were a few fleck of ink that had marred the beautiful map. Most likely, these drops came from when the quill flew from her hand and threw off loose ink droplets. An inner irritation welled at her stomach, angry at her effort being wasted. It would not do. Dea would have to tell Mrs Johannas that she would need more time to give her their map. Quickly collecting and repacking her equipment, including removing her metal rule from the mouth of one of the merinos, she slipped the map into the cylindrical tube and made her way down towards the farm.

As she moved along the hills towards the farm, Dea noticed that there were animals everywhere, unpenned and free. It was odd, but not unexpected. Especially after such a quake. From the feeling of it, the epicenter was most likely nearby. As she approached the Johannas farm, Dea grimaced at the sight. Several of the fences and gates that kept the animals in were broken or jarred, which meant the animals she had seen everywhere were theirs.

Oh my..... This is..... troublesome.... I apologise Mrs Johannas, but i got bad news.... on top of yours. I am... unable to finish my map due to the quake. It is ruined. HOWEVER. I will get you one, i swear by my family name. Here. Here is the ruined one.

Dea offered the ruined map out to the farmer. It has yet to be laminated and protected, but she was unable to do so as of now, but the farmers said they would do it themselves. Continuing, Dea offered a small bow of apology,

In fact, as a sign of my apology for not being able to keep my word, i'll assist in rounding up the animals that appear to have escaped. Is that alright?

Levont Ienten

Following the girl from the air, Levont soon flew over a farm house that took little damage from the earthquake. But despite the look, the fence was busted and from his vantage point, the Twinling could see farm animals roaming the grassy hills. Levont landed on the house as he started listening into the conversation.

"Oh dear. The horses, pigs and sheep have been lost! I at least need someone to help return two of my animals."

"Oh my..... This is..... troublesome.... I apologize Mrs Johannas, but i got bad news.... on top of yours. I am... unable to finish my map due to the quake. It is ruined. HOWEVER. I will get you one, i swear by my family name. Here. Here is the ruined one. In fact, as a sign of my apology for not being able to keep my word, I'll assist in rounding up the animals that appear to have escaped. Is that alright?"

Levont smiled as he dismounted from the roof to the back of the farm house and glided to land. One wing hiding spell later, Levont walked from the back and out to the two women.

*** Levont's Theme

"Miss? I'll also help gather your animals for you if you want?" Levont said while looking at the two women.

OOC: OMG Bathion ninja's me last night! One for Anarchia only so we dont get too ahead of the others.

Anarchia Iilyavich Vesperia - Sevensheep

Not Dead Yet.....

Slowly, Anarchia felt her heart rate slow down and the numbing pain in her limbs begin to lessen and dispel. Arms shaking from the exertion, Anarchia struggled upright using her elbows. She had to thank whatever higher being that was watching her right now. Besides bruising that she would get from a badly performed parachuting (such as flying into a wall), there was no fractures that she could feel, nor internal contusions. This was good. It meant there was no need to seek medical attention from any locals. Last thing she wanted was people to be nosy, particularly so with her and her hair colour. After another minute or so, Anarchia was able to get onto her legs weakly and began an arduous climp up the crater side. The fields was lushious green and the colours vibrant as she gazed and surveyed the area around her. Besides being slightly sore, Anarchia felt relatively fine. A quick pat down, however, gave her an uneasy feeling. Just now, she had remembered that she had handed all her guns to Iglesias when she was on the exfiltration plane. All that she was left with was her knives..... and her PPK on her thigh with two extra clips. A total of 24 bullets.

Sigh....... Where do i go now......?

Regardless of whether she was a fully trained paratrooper or not, the pure fact that she was in a terrain she had never even seen or have intel on meant that she would have to
take a roll of the dice and guess which direction to take.

Well.... lets go left.

Anarchia made her way leftwards, luckily, the right direction, towards the Mana Tree, cities and villages and towns

Tsuchi barely had time to think when a strapping young gentleman caught the two robbers by using a well conjured fire spell, hitting them dead on and knocking them out. He then moved to collect the dropped potions and for a split second the charcoal haired girl thought he was going to run off with them. But he didn't.

"Are you okay? Here's the potions" He said, placing the potions down next to the stall that had gained a little damage in the quake.

"I'm OK...thank so much for getting those back for me!!" she said cheerfully, looking up at the man who was much taller than her with large amber eyes. "I'm not sure what I would have done if my boss found out I'd let the store get robbed." she moved towards the sack and rummaged through it, counting the potions inside. "Looks like that's all of them, hey... do you want one? It's on the house... y'know for saving me and all"

Tsuchi walked up to the man and opened the sack wide for him to look in and take his pick. As she stood there something hit her...she recognised him, she studied his face with her eyes and suddenly it clicked.

"Hey!!" She squealed dropping the sack do the floor. "You're that guy uhm... Weiss? You go to all the tournaments don't you?"

"Looks like that's all of them, hey... do you want one? It's on the house... y'know for saving me and all"

"Well sure thing, if you're offering..."
As Weiss started to put his hand into the sack to pick out a potion she dropped the sack suddenly "Whoa, the sack didn't look that heavy"

"You're that guy uhm... Weiss? You go to all the tournaments don't you?"

"Not quite a plural yet, just the one so far, didn't think it left that big an impression"

Weiss then
picked up the sack for her and set it on her stall "Well anyway, i'd best be going, hopefully there's no more earthquakes like that" Turning around Weiss began to walk off, with her stall damaged he didn't want to bother her with purchasing anything until the damage was fixed.

"Oh dear that would be such a big help!" The old woman replied. "Dont worry about the map Dea. I may be old but I still have plenty of time to wait for another map."

Mrs. Johannas stood and began to walk back to her ruined animal pins and stables. "The animals should be somewhere roaming these fields. If I can recall there are about 3 horses, 4 pigs and 5 sheep out loose. GOod luck in catching them dear!"

Just as she said this a young man appeared walking form behind her barn. "Miss? I'll also help gather your animals for you if you want?" he spoke.

"Oh how nice! The Almighty must be smiling upon me today! Please young man, I'm sure Ms. Dea wouldn't mind having a bit of help in rounding up my animals." The old woman replied. "If you two happen to find any, please bring them to me and I shall give you a reward."

Standing atop the roof of an old house in Siard South, Orine stood gazing for the noble he had needed. It had taken him a long while before the elf spotted his target standing near a small house and an alley holding the package Orine had deviously instructed him to. The man did not know that the message he received was not from the noble King Henry, but from Orine, and that the noble had also held a very valuable emerald within his package. The elf was very pleased with himself, so much so that his could not stop smiling as he made his way towards the nobleman.

Of course being as discreet as he could he pretended to be a normal street walker and surprisingly he blended well with the many humans running about the place. Orine's first action would be to accidentally "bump" into the man, as if by accident. This worked nicely, as the Elf got closer to his target. With a swift "bump" to the noble the Orine easily pulled the man into the alley before cutting him down with his sword.

One quick jab left blood gushing from the man's chest as he lay in the empty alley. "Heehee! Who knew the rich had such bad security!" The elf laugh before turning his smile into a frown at an instant.

He snatched open the package and observed the emerald's beauty. It was a glowing emerald with the power of the mana tree imbued within it, something very rarely seen. Orine however would use it to his own delight. Murmuring an enchantment, Orine threw down the emerald into the ground, watching in amazement at his spell's work. He chanted even louder. "No longer kept in the dark and bound, I bring from hell the harshest hounds!" The elf smiled as a dark miasma had surrounded the mana emerald. He had never been able to control this force, and yet, it somehow seemed to be working through the old summoning spell of his ancestors.

It was all he needed to confirm the true rumors of his family being related to demons of the south. "Now rise!"

In amazement the elf had witnessed something foul and rotten dig itself up out of the ground. It was a hound of hell, a monster of death, a harbinger of chaos. Orine smiled at his feat of summoning the first monsters Agia had witnessed in a thousand years and all across the land he knew that the world would be ravaged by this frightful return.

Earthly Realm

"Whoa"

Riley awoke from his daydream with a news report blaring upon his television. He rubbed his eyes as the news reporter rambled on. "The effects of today's mass outbreak could potentially harm millions..."

He didn't pay much attention as to what was going on, but Riley didn't care much. The news always exaggerated everyday life and as of that moment he had to get to his job. He had forgotten what he was watching before on television but his dream of death dogs seemed as real as could be. The tall man strode over to his guitar case and grabbed his keys before exiting his apartment complex.

"This issue has been declared as a statewide emergency..."

[OOC: No kidding! I'm slow. Time to get back up to speed.]

Gloria sighed, leaning against the walls that line the alley. The quake certainly threw everything off balance, and that was the last thing Gloria wanted. She had just made quite a steal from some rich noble-looking man. The quake struck at such opportune timing that her hands hit his waist as she attempted to remove his pouch forcing her to leave the pouch alone and run for it.

Now, having hid herself in the alley, she was safe, but still poor - and hungry. It had been about half a day since she ate. She was already lucky to even make it to Siard without succumbing to hunger thanks to the herbs she had meant to sell - and that she had ate. It filled her up a little, or enough for her to last a day longer, but if she was to live a little longer, she will need the money.

Gripping her cudgel, she sighs again in exasperation.

Her stomach growls at her, as if irritated by her continuous sighing. Gloria grimaced as she picked herself up and prepared to leave the alley to find another target to pickpocket.

Just then, the ground literally opened up a hole of blackness and out jumped several hounds. Their vicious-looking jaws were dripping blood as they circled Gloria. Before she could even finish counting them, one struck her from behind.

Thankfully, her cudgel happened to be in the way as she turned to react. The bite was not into flesh, but into metal, and it bought Gloria time to start casting her magic.

Lightning gathered around her gauntlets as she blasted a bolt in retaliation at the first offending hound. The other hounds chose this time to strike, receiving a painful slam from the cudgel as Gloria swung it about face. While still in momentum, she brings down a bolt of lightning from the sky on another hound.

The remaining two, she decide to end quickly with a Lightning Stab. The sky cackled with electrical energy as a mass of electricity in the form of a blade swung down. The hounds were still unaware of their impending doom as the blade struck them and electrocuted them to kingdoms come.

"Flashy, but gets the job done, hm?"

Chuckling at her remark, she left the alley and onto the main streets of Siard.

Levont Ienten

Levont nodded as he look around the area. Just as he eyed the fence, four shadows grew on the ground. Soon, the shadow burst as four demonic dogs emerged from the shadows. Levont grabbed his scythe and got into his ground battle stance.

"That's ugly. Time to put it out of it's misery." Levont muttered as two of the hellhound lunged at him. Levont sprung forward and spun the scythe once as it's serrated edge cut into one hellhound's snout while the blade itself pierced into the second attacking hellhound. Levont channeled some energy into the blade and a slashwave split the hellhound in half. The Twinling turned back to face the other hellhound to find that it had already pounced toward him. With no time to think, Levont dispelled the magic hiding his wings and took to the air. Once in the air, Levont swung his scythe upward, skewering the second hellhound in mid pounce.

"Miss, take care of those two things." Levont muttered as he swung the scythe to dislodge the hellhound from the blade.

[OOC] Ugh, only four days and things have picked up this much. Guess I'll have to start paying more attention and cracking out posts. And Oli, I'm working on the fourth minor bio for the immediate Starke family line who want the title; if I'm not too exhausted tomorrow I'll send them to you or place it in the SUD thread if you want. But I warn you, there's seven of them and not all of them are enemies.

[IC]

The rumbling of the earth had ruined the sign behind them and now Therion was in Aleros' arms after having tripped moving backwards to avoid a falling tree. Tearing himself from the demon's protective grasp, he stood back up, shaking the debris from his clothes.

"Ryset..."

The name drifted out from Therion's lips, traveling around the area but there was no answer.

"Ryset," he said again, just a touch louder.

"He's not here."

Aleros' voice was unusual for a demon's, lacking the often bestial tone demons had, instead sounding like a normal human though his voice was strangely more empty.

"Like hell he isn't."

Though still cold, Therion's voice was a bit annoyed at Ryset's cowardice. For all the shit Ryset had put him through growing up, he was too afraid to actually come out, even with his armour. Ryset was an Earthspear and another unique oddity among the Starkes and had the physical capability to overpower Therion, if the younger boy didn't have his magic to aid him.

"You know just as well that Ryset is capable of doing this. And if Marlexian is after the title, so is Ryset."

Aleros stood behind in stoic silence before vanishing again. Only a few seconds later he returned.

"There's no one within range of us."

"I cannot put something like that off as natural. The entire Starke line may be after me now."

As if to punctuate his point there was a scrabbling from under the earth as four hellhounds clawed their way to the surface. They panted in hunger, their souless eyes focusing in on Therion.

"Marlexian's work..."

The one in front was a fair amount larger than the others, with long sharp teeth that were now shining in the light between curled lips that could almost resemble a smile. The pack leader howled and the other three leapt past it, charing toward Therion, jaws snapping.

Calmly, Therion clenched then opened his hand and sitting in his palm and cradles between his clawed fingers was a mass of black energy, crackling with more black energy arcs. As the pack came ever closer, one of them disappeared mid-bound. Ignoring it the yelp that sounded shortly after, Therion flung the shadebolt at the leading hell hound, catching it in the chest and flinging it backward as the energy burst.

Glancing to the side, Therion could see Aleros with his blades out, both of them having impaled one of the hounds. Focusing his attention to the remaining one who had hesitated after what had just happened. Dropping the briefcase, he held his hands together in front of him and pulled his right one back. In his left fist he held a black bow, the edges flickering as though it were made of flame. In his right finger he held a black arrow, already nocked and pulled back. Letting it fly, it sunk into the hound's left haunch. The infernal beast howled in pain as the shadow arrow burst like a shadebolt.

Behind it, the stunned one regained consciousness and was now padding back to stand beside the other, both now hesitant. A rough bark from the pack leader spurred them on to charge. Changing the way his fingers held the bow, Therion pulled back a second time, a pair of arrows appearing on opposite sides of the bow, nocked and ready. With a twang, they flew out, catching one in the slobbering maw and going deep into it, exploding and blasting the beast in two. The other arrow caught the remaining beta in the chest, causing it to stumble before charging again. It's stumble gave Aleros the time needed to dash in and sever it's head clean from the bone with Forsaken, the head bouncing off as the body kept its forward momentum, ending in a slump in front of the tree in front of Therion.

The alpha looked hesitant as Aleros stood back up from the crouch that had finished his attack and Therion had another arrow nocked. It's decimated pack lay around the area, one decapitated, one mutilated, one blasted in two. Therion made the choice for it, sending another arrow flying towards it. It leapt out of the way and ran towards Therion as he readied another arrow. Jumping from tree to tree and runnign behind branches for cover it pounced onto Therion and was met by a longsword.

The bow in Therion's hands had disappeared, replaced by the four foot ebon blade that now protruded through the Hell Hound's stomach. It slid down another inch as it's weight pulled it down. it snarled at Therion, just barely out of reach. Plunging the blade into the fallen tree before him, Therion laid a finger on the beast's blood-matted chest fur. The hell hound's struggles, once frenzied and hectic, began to slow until the beasts eyes had lost their luster, half glazed over as the beast lay in paralysis.

Taking his briefcase in his hand once more, he left the beast, his steps more brisk than before, now empowered by the beasts infernal life source. Alerso watched the hell hound slump to the ground as the weapon disappeared and the blood began to spurt out. Condemnation swung again and severed the beast's head just before the demon ran to catch up with Therion.

"They're working together Aleros."

His retainer remained silent.

"If we're lucky, maybe they won't all be after my inheritance."

Dea Nyx Noctis Umbras

Multi tasking

"Oh dear that would be such a big help! Dont worry about the map Dea. I may be old but I still have plenty of time to wait for another map."

Dea's right eye flinched upon hearing her name. True that it can be said as just Dea, but it gave a sense of closeness and intimacy that she does not share with many people. Mrs Johannas was a nice lady and Dea respected the elders, so she allowed her to use Dea when addressing her, but regardless, she felt slightly uneasy.

The animals should be somewhere roaming these fields. If I can recall there are about 3 horses, 4 pigs and 5 sheep out loose. GOod luck in catching them dear!

Very well. I shall get right to it ma'am.

Dea stuck her scythe into the ground before rolling up her sleeves. Animals were naturally dirty animals and if she is going to be handling them, best make sure her clothes remained clean. The arrival of another helper meant she had it easier.

"Miss? I'll also help gather your animals for you if you want?"

Dea gave the newcomer a curt nod and began to move off whilst Mrs Johannas conversed with the winged man. She didn't get far when she sighted a small baby sheep within 10 meters from the barn. She scooped the small thing in her arm and was beginning to return when dirt mounds appeared before unsightly beasts exploded from the ground. There was four in total.

"Miss, take care of those two things."

*Nod*

Again, a curt reply to the man. Sheep tucked under one arm, Dea slid the scythe down her hand until she held it by the end tip of the shaft before swinging it horizontally. There was a sickening feeling of resistance as the scythe blade bit into the hell hound that had launched itself at her in mid air. Its forward moment was knocked sideways as Dea skwered the beast through its flank. Still stuck on the blade, Dea callously flicked the carcass towards its companion. The mangy cur dodged sideways as the body bounced on the ground, but dodged right into the front kick Dea had launched at it. Its head snapped backwards, but Dea was relentless. Her scythe laid stuck in the ground and instead, Dea had took out one of her Ultima Linea, her trench knives, and proceeded to brutally tenderise the hound, beating it until it was nothing but a bag of broken meat. Stating with the major limbs, Dea broke its legs, then blinded the beast by slashing across its eyes with her blade before raining pummelling blows at its head, broke its jaw, then whereever she could hit it. As it laid on the ground twitching, Dea finished off the beast with a sharp stomp on its neck, snapping it with a resounding SNAP.

Phew..... would have been troublesome if i hadn't dealt with it quickly, isnt that right little babe?

Dea mumbled to the small sheep, who was now bleating weakly and hid its head on Dea's chest. She did not know when another pack was going to come so it was best to bring the sheep back to Mrs Johannas. Thing was, the other animals were now in danger.

Mrs Johannas, i found this baby sheep, close by. There are hell hounds that have appeared nearby, so i fear for your other animals. Take cover in the barn and i'll make haste in rounding up the rest along with the winged man.

Levont Ienten.

After the trouble with the Hellhound, Levont started flying around the fields as he found a horse. Giving off a small smile, Levont landed a few feet off of the horse and walked up to it to avoid spooking the horse, which was the last thing he wanted to do right now.

"Here there. Time to get you back to your home." Levont muttered as he placed a hand on the horse. The horse nickered a bit while looking at Levont before following the Twinling as Levont walked back to the Barn.

"Here's a horse. I'll start looking for the other animals." Levont muttered before he took off to start looking for the remaining animals.

OOC: Short one for Soul. Welcome to come now and meet

Anarchia Iilyavich Vesperia - Sevensheep

Lifeform

Anarchia had made good time over the grassy plains. The slow rising hills were soft and cushioned with grass, making it pleasant to walk over. The air was definitely mcuh sweeter than anywhere in Balaika. The air up in the mountains may be much crisper, but the meadows had a fragrance of flowers and rich nature and for a second, she wanted to just forget everything and lay on the grass, maybe doze off and catch a few Z, but her soldier pride wouldn't allow it. Instead, Anarchia marched on, back straight, double time until she sighted a large city not too far from the hill she stood. She was close enough to even hear a slight bit of the town life.

How positively.... medieval....

Her
eyebrows wrinkled in slight disgust, but civilisation was civilisation. If she wanted to get her bearings, then this was the best way to go about it. Before she even took two steps, the ground beneath broke open and a flaming dog bounded out. Even the battle hardened Anarchia was stunned for a second as she has never seen such a beast, but reflex took over when the beast then decided to turn and go for her neck. With q quick sidestep, Anarchia wrapped her arm around its neck and swiftly snapped it, dropping its limped body to the ground.

Stupid cur....

Another hound pulled itself out from the hole and actually managed to tumble Anarchia over, its head going ballistics, trying to snap at her throat. Desperately, Anarchia kept its head back with her hands gripped on its jaws. Refusing to settle with a stalemate, Anarchia launched a sharp knee into its flank, knocking it to the right and off of her. Now free from the pin, Anarchia scrambled to her feet, planted one foot on its haunches and swiftly pulled her PPK out and plugged three rapid rounds into the side of its head, rocking its head to the ground and blowing chinks off. The loud retort of the gun echoed throughout the quiet environment, being very foreign and alien to this ancient world.

Walking away from the woman a few moments later he heard frightened screams from behind him, as he turned to see what the problem was he saw strange beasts literally climbing through the foundations of the ground. Clearly these things weren't here to play peacekeeper, that much was clear by appearance alone, unsheathing his sword he waited for them to fully emerge and make their intentions known.

As the first appeared it took a matter of seconds to confirm this as it lunged for Weiss, luckily for Weiss however agility was his forte and he managed to move out of it's reach and direct his sword to intercept the attack, turning Weiss' ordinarily weak attack strength into a fatal instant kill, cutting the beast cleanly in two.

This was however only 1 of 4 as was made abundantly clear as the 3 all charged him as a pack, similar to how a pack of wolves overwhelm their prey. Seeing it as dangerous to keep them in such a populated area Weiss launched a flame spell at them, though naturally ineffective it served as sufficient taunting as he led them outside the city walls. Once he reached the outside he heard multiple echoed bangs, were more monsters nearby?

Unable to investigate at the moment Weiss waited for an opening to appear within the remaining three enemies, with physical attacks being his only option he had to take care in performing his attacks.
