In this experiment, passive status effects in battle will be tested. Godmodding will also be tested to a limited capacity. Basic rules:

1) Status effects are allowed in this battle. However, they must be stated in the first post.

2) The characters in this RPB can not die. There will be no winner/loser.

3) Each character will post 10 times. After each character's tenth post, the battle will conclude.

Without further ado: The Experiment.

Nimble/Jack's Bio: here
Added attacks for Nimble:

Flash - Nimble throws a flash grenade and everyone within a 10 meter diameter is temporarily blinded.
Smoke - Nimble throws a smoke grenade. This is typically when Nimble and Jack make their escape. However, this is sometimes a preliminary preparation for an attack... the smoke affects the sight of everyone caught in the explosion within 10 meters. The smoke takes a full ten minutes to fully dissipate. Sight radius begins to improve within five minutes.
Sweet Dreams - Nimble either blows powder in one opponent’s face or throws a grenade that explodes and sends a cloud of powder everywhere. Anyone who inhales this powder is sedated and falls asleep quickly. This effect lasts for one hour.

Thamuz's Bio: here

For Piercing Cold, the "ice extension" attack will now cause freezing in a four inch radius from the point of impact. Ice will cover the area in question, causing limited movement and/or weakened attacks. This effect lasts for 15 seconds.

Frozen Slash will have a similar effect, freezing four inches from the point of impact. However, since this is a slashing attack, the area of freezing is much greater. At the same time, the freezing is not as intense and does not last as long (30 seconds).

For the purposes of this experiement, I'm adding a temporary third attack: Ice Blast. In this attack, Thamuz focuses the cold energy of the Peridot Sword into what appears to be a large icicle, which he can launch at a target. On impact, the entire target will be frozen for 15 seconds. This attack leaves the Peridot Sword drained, in a similar fashion to the previous two attacks.

Nimble and Jack looked at their surroundings. The room was stark and massively large. The room composed an octagonal shape with reflective one-way mirrors looking in. The high ceiling was as bland as the ground. It was white stucco with florescent lights. The ground was a bright white cement. A dark-skinned woman in a lab coat had just finished speaking to them. Nimble was irritable.

"What did she just finish saying?" Nimble signed to Jack in her native signed language. Nimble held up a translucent orb.

"She said that this is an experiment. We're supposed to go all out until she stops us. The orbs supposedly make us invincible." Nimble looked distainfully at the orb in her hand. She then took notice of the much older man across the room. He was holding a fancy, slim sword. It was like none she had seen before. She briefly wondered if she could steal it after the experiment. A brief movement from the lab technician brought her back to the matter at hand. "Why the hell did I let you talk me into this, again?" Nimble signed pointedly toward Jack.

"The money is good."

Nimble relaxed a bit. This damned orb better make me invincible like she said, Nimble thought. Nimble took out a notebook and a pencil. In it she wrote:
Can I use bombs?
Nimble showed her note to the technician. She nodded her head. "Yes, you can. Use any weapons you'd like." Nimble read the technician's lips and smiled. "Any further questions?" asked the woman in the lab coat. Nimble and Jack shook their heads no. "You may begin when I have exited the room," the woman said. The woman walked over to a panel resembling that of the rest of the mirrors. This panel had a translucent doorknob. The woman opened the panel and exited the room. The battle was underway.

Nimble and Jack nodded to each other. They spaced themselves out while keeping distance from the older man. Simultaneously they threw smoke bombs within five feet of the swordsman. The two rejoined each other and prepared projectiles. Jack sat upon Nimble's shoulders. Together, they waited for the reaction.

Thamuz will be using cold-based status effects with his normal attacks. The effects are as follows:

For Piercing Cold, the "ice extension" attack will now cause freezing in a four inch radius from the point of impact. Ice will cover the area in question, causing limited movement and/or weakened attacks. This effect lasts for 15 seconds.

Frozen Slash will have a similar effect, freezing four inches from the point of impact. However, since this is a slashing attack, the area of freezing is much greater. At the same time, the freezing is not as intense and does not last as long (30 seconds).

On impact, the entire target will be frozen for 15 seconds. This attack leaves the Peridot Sword drained, in a similar fashion to the previous two attacks.

Perhaps I am dreaming... Thamuz thought. The last thing he remembered, he was out on the battlefield with the Caliginous Order. It had been a long day of fighting, but they had emerged victorious. He was taking a hard-earned rest, and woke up to...this. The room was a large, blank octagon with shiny walls which he had never seen before. His sharp eyes continued to scan around the room, taking in all of his surroundings. The military mind in Thamuz began to click, and he noted that there was not much here to be working with, as far as surroundings are concerned. As he finished scanning the room, his eyes fell on an odd sight indeed.

Seems that you aren't alone... A small girl with a...monkey? Most bizarre...what an odd dream. They spoke to each other in some type of sign language, and then addressed a third person, dressed in a strange white garment. As they communicated, Thamuz quietly unsheathed the Peridot Sword and held it in his right hand. Better be ready for anything. Filarhh knows what could happen... Before he knew it, the woman in white had left, and the girl and monkey began to space themselves out. Then, they threw some odd spheres towards him and smoke spewed out of them. Thamuz couldn't see his hand in front of his face.

A battle, eh? Very well. It's what I do best, after all. Thamuz held the Peridot Sword up to his face in a salute. I'll concentrate on the smaller creature. Divide and conquer. He must be about...there. Thamuz pivoted in place slightly, remembering where the monkey was standing before he was clouded with smoke. "Filarhh, may you grant me strength!" he boomed as he ran through the smoke, emerging within a few feet of the small monkey. Thamuz leapt into the air, aiming the Peridot Sword down on the monkey's head for a deadly thrust with both hands. In the meantime, the blue energy in his blade migrated to the front, and a large point of ice grew on the blade. We will see how you deal with this, my furry friend...

Jack had barely alighted himself atop Nimble before Thamuz's sword came crashing down toward his head. Nimble had noticed the shift in smoke just as Jack nudged her in warning. Nimble stumbled as she rolled to her left, depositing Jack into a ball onto the ground. Damnit, that old guy isn't just carrying that pretty sword for show, thought Nimble. The swing of the sword narrowly missed. Nimble glanced quickly at Jack. Jack had popped some liquid into his mouth. Nimble smiled briefly. I should've had them pay us upfront, she thought to herself.

Jack and Nimble made eye contact. With body language honed through years of companionship, they understood the next move. Nimble sprinted toward Jack and picked him up. The smoke had not dissipated, but Nimble knew from the previous attack where the swordsman was. Nimble tossed Jack in that direction and instantly followed up with a flash grenade. Jack, having been launched in the air, flicked a high-quality lighter and spit into the air. A great fireball emerged as the result. Jack aimed the fire toward the swordsman's face. I hope that orb works for damage too, Jack thought. By the time Jack realized that he did not remember the swordsman receiving an orb, it was too late. Shit, Jack thought.

Nimble emerged behind Thamuz in a flash. She drew a dagger. Deftly, she swung the dagger straight toward the back of Thamuz's neck as Jack completed his forefront attack...
