Final Fantasy XIII TGS 2008
The trailer opens with a black screen and the words "When I awoke in this world, my eternal sleep having ended, the future was set in motion." written on it.
The trailer opens with a shot of the prehistoric landscape seen in more recent trailers, likely Pulse. A colorful, winged lizard-like monster swoops through the sky, and the camera moves across a herd of adamantoise-like creatures to zoom in on the Pigtails girl, standing atop a cliff. It is a longer version of the scene shown at the end of the 2008 E3 trailer, at 3:09.
The trailer cuts to a sky scene with many smaller airships flying behind a gigantic, white and gold ship. The small ships are of the same type that are visible in the E3 trailer starting at 00:54 seconds, I believe. They are shown from a much closer distance. It's difficult to say whether or not the large is the same as the one previously seen flying, as the ship in this trailer is seen from the back. From the front it looked almost like a solid, round block, but in the back it has many more small parts to it. Glowing, stylized eye-like symbols, which Autumn Thread believes were projected by the large ship, appear over the smaller airships, and they fly in to the large ship.
More words: "Pulse's Farushi- It is there that we encounter our fates"
The trailer cuts to the previously seen scene of Siren rising from the water (E3 trailer 3:09)
Ifrit appears next. (E3 1:42)
The disk scene with pigtails girl follows, shown at 2:05 in the E3 trailer.
Another set of words: "Because we want to forget sad memories, we are always drawn to warm ones."
The trailer cuts to a scene with the giant crystalline object shown here. Cocoon soldiers fire many harpoon-like red cables into it, throwing up clouds of dust as the camera zooms in on the giant object and pans upwards.
The camera shifts to show a new character aboard a medium sized airship. A silver haired man, calm, mature-looking but not old (possibly 30s?), in what looks like an elaborately decorated military dress uniform. His hair is gathered in a ponytail. He wears a headset, and is surrounded by the armored soldiers who are enemies to Lightning and Mr. 33cm. They appear to be at his command. He removes his headset as he turns away from the camera.
At this point, the trailer shifts to a mix of scenes from previous trailers of Lightning fighting, most visible from 1:31 to 2:02 in the E3 trailer, although all gameplay scenes appear to have been cut out of the TGS trailer.
Shiva's transformation scene follows, and Mr. 33 rides his motorcycle as he did in the E3 trailer.
Here, another new scene. It is nighttime. There is an airship docked in the foreground, and the camera moves past it to a new long-haired female character in a military dress uniform of similar style to the new male character's. She has glasses. Farther back, there is a row of armored soldiers (more of the same type Lightning and Mr. 33 fight), lined up on either side of a pathway, and the pigtails girl follows a large, coffin-like object down the opposite side of the path toward the new character. Sera is not in her usual outfit; she is wearing a ceremonial-like, decorated white robe, with the hood up. She looks gloomy, and it is possible that her hands are restrained. It appears she has just come down a flight of stairs from a building.
In the next scene there are voices. I'm not sure about the location.
Lightning: What about the mission?
Mr 33cm: Wait!
Lightning: Are you already going to give up on the mission and die here?
Lightning: (You... are devoid of meaning.)
An image of the pigtails girl smiling and talking to Lightning flashes across the screen briefly. Pigtails girl has no voice in the scene.
Mr 33cm: I... absolutely will not give up! I... will complete the mission, and protect Sera! I swear it.
Lightning: Show me you can protect (Sera).
The trailer closes with the scene of Lightning and Mr. 33 facing off against the holy government's soldiers in the ice encased area seen here.
Final Fantasy Versus XIII
The music for the trailer is not Somnus. It is new.
The trailer opens with the scene of Noctis in the car, being driven through a tunnel and down a highway, partially visible in the Cloud trailer. The radio can be heard. The broadcast has been made more audible than in previous trailers: "According to the 'Heruda-' state minister, the 13th peace conference with King (inaudible.. possibly Beliz or Verdan) and Nibelheim ended safely. Moreover, in the conference, talk regarding the peaceful use of our nation's Crystal has resumed. The people hope for a period of peace lasting hundreds of years. Additionally, the time of Prince Noctis's coronation draws near... (at this point, the broadcaster's voice begins to fade out)
There are signs above the highway, which I was unable to catch. One began "M-------," another began "Vallis ---------."
Two or three airships have been added to the upper right corner of the sky above the highway seen in the Cloud Trailer at around :20 seconds. I remember them being somewhat round in silouhette. It also seems that the car's interior may have been slightly redone? I have a feeling that it looked more modern in the TGS trailer than it does in the Cloud one.
As the car drives off, the Shakespeare quote "There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so." is shown.
The scene changes to the interior of an elegant building, the camera closely focused on darkly colored steps. Noctis ascends them. He is dressed in the Roen suit, and we get a close up of his shiny black shoes. See screenshot here.
The blond haired heroine, Stella, is looking at a black and white painting of a goddess (the painting itself seems to have been drawn by Amano). Stella is in a single piece white dress, she has some sort of tiny piece of jewelry fastened to her dress on the right side of her chest. Screenshot. Another.
A caption across a black screen is shown. The words appear to be Italian. I could only copy half of it: "La stella incomp- ____ _____" My best guess at the third word would be "incomparable," bringing the translation to "The peerless star ____ ______"
Noctis approaches, and Stella turns around with a smile.
Stella: "Noctis-sama can see the light, isn't that so?"
Stella: "I can also see (it)."
Stella: "The light (we) saw earlier below is 'that' light, isn't it?"
Stella looks up at the night sky.
Noctis begins to walk in the opposite direction to avoid Stella. Stella continues to talk while following him.
Stella: "The Goddess Etro..."
Stella talks vaguely about such things as "The light that emanates from the land of the dead," "the light to face the souls of the dead," and that "those who see the light recieve power."
Stella: "It is a legend told in Teneburae."
Noctis: "It is the same here." (This line appears to have been mistranslated previously as "It is the same with me" referring to the granting of power by light. The way I heard it, he was saying that his country has the same tale) He extends his hand in a gesture that seems to lack interest in the topic, his manner short and to the point.
Stella: "Has Noctis-sama recieved power?"
Noctis sits down on a nearby bench.
Noctis: "It's better not to talk about those things."
Stella: "Why is that?"
Noctis: "Things that are said to set you apart from others, they're bothersome, you know?"
Stella: "What do you think that light is, Noctis-sama?"
Noctis: "It's just there. Isn't that enough, uh....?
Noctis stands.
Stella: "It's Stella."
Noctis: "Stella, I must be leaving."
Stella: "I am sorry to have delayed you, Noctis-sama."
Noctis: "Noct is fine."
Stella: "I also must be going."
Stella spins around to leave.
Stella: "I feel I recieved power from that light today. I was also able to speak with you."
Stella speaks while walking backwards,
Stella: "If you wish, come to Teneburae. I will show you around."
Noctis: "That sounds pretty good. I'll think about it."
Stella leaves.
A second black screen caption is shown here, but I could only copy letters without getting the correct order: "i l l c a m i n o i l p e r e n______"
The scene changes suddenly to the desert road with the broken telephone poles alongside it. Screenshot. Noctis's car drives along it. The car stops, and the shotgun guy and Noctis get out.
The next scene is of the silver board room, with many men in suits at a table. Screenshot
The clips of Noctis and his companions are shown. Screenshot. Screenshot.
A montage of clips of Noctis fighting the soldiers from the original trailer is shown.
The third Italian caption appears: "Il re morte" -> "The dead king"
The scene changes, and Noctis and the white-hooded man face off against each other in the throne room from the original trailers. Screenshot.
The trailer cuts back to the desert road as the shotgun guy and Noctis look out over the flooded road ahead.
The trailer briefly returns to the board room, then switches to the scene of Noctis and his companions looking out from possibly a bridge at a large building and smoke rising from near it. Screenshot. The scene speed jumps forward to show them walking away.
I'm not sure on the placement of it, but the fourth Italian caption is shown somewhere around here: "La memoria del morto" -> "The memory of the dead"
The next scene is inside the car, shown in previous closed trailers, of Noctis's glasses-wearing friend driving, with the shotgun guy in the front and Noctis and the scar-faced man in the back. They all appear to be concerned about something.
Noctis says something to the two in the front. Screenshot.
I believe the final Italian caption came here: "Le morte del dea" -> "The death of the goddess"
The trailer shifts to show Noctis running through an empty street. He sees Stella and they both stop and face each other.
Symbols glow behind each of them, a red behind Stella and a blue behind Noctis. They summon a single sword each and prepare to fight. Screenshot. Screenshot.
The title logo appears
The final scene of the trailer returns to the room in which Noctis and Stella met. Noctis looks up at the sky and hears a voice, "Who are you?" He replies, "That's my line," then turns and walks away.
Final Fantasy Agito XIII
(Here comes the bold. It's almost all new. Narration is in italics to set it apart from description, since it's almost all narration)
On a world map made to look like an old world style map, "Suzaku," "Byakko," "Genbu," and "Seiryuu" are written, surrounding a volcano in the middle of the map.
A narrating voice: "Oriens-- a world in which the Crystal(s?)'s power resounds, the land which spins within a helix.
The age of Ou, year 846, the Water Moon (moon likely referring to the month). The southern country of Byakko sent forth the Irites 'magic armor' corps in their possession, and tresspassed upon the national borders set forth by Rushi. This was a severe violation of the non-aggression agreement between the four nations of Oriens, the "Pax Codex."
The soldiers advance across the map from the territory of Byakko to Suzaku, and stylized, red marks appear across the map, reminiscent of bombs. An image of a leader-like figure in military dress making a speach is shown, but he has no voice.
"The Irites army nullifies Crystal(s?) using a new technology. The military stronghold city Suzaku, with no way of defending itself, essentially surrendered without a fight. Field marshall Cid __________(rest of the name name not heard) of the Irites army proposed a new contract to Kariya, director of the Perishitirium Suzaku, with the city's disarmament, as well as the dissolution of the contract with the Crystal(s?) as the terms.
It was a virtual declaration of surrender.
However, plans to liberate the capital have already begun from the ground level of the ranks... (possible missed words here)."
The hand of the clock in the institute of Perishitirium Suzaku reaches the XIIIth hour and stops.
The cogs that house the crystal in a room within the institute stop, and a crack appears on a red crystal. (visible at 0:25 seconds (before turning red) in the leaked trailer.) A loud sound is generated and the camera view changes to watch the island from a distance. A great column of light rises from the island and shatters. An immense amount of seawater is blown away from the island (visible at 0:35 in the leaked trailer).
Scenes of the students fighting in their original uniforms are shown. They seem to be gameplay scenes. Among the enemies fought are black flans and machine-type monsters. Card-kun throws out a card and summons Odin, possibly in the institute's courtyard. Odin dismounts from his horse and brandishes his lance.
The scene changes to the fiery ruins of the city, a lone student standing amidst a pile of rubble. He is wearing a new, dark cloak, one of the ones from the new poster image. He is surrounded by armored soldiers. The student thrusts the end of a flagstaff into the ground. The flag bears the image of Suzaku.
"A person can choose niether the world nor the age into which they are born. However, they can choose how they live. This is not a story of a single chapter. It is a history written by ones' own hand, and by fate. May they receive the divine protection of the Crystal(s?)."
The trailer ends with the student summoning a card, and the rest of the students appearing beside him, drawing their weapons and taking the poses seen in the poster.
