So, for a long time now I've been subscribed to this youtube user going by FamilyJules7X, and it recently struck me hard on the face when hearing his latest cover. I haven't told anyone about this artist!?
So here's the scoop. Jules (this is what I will call him) plays video game music on guitars (yes, plural) including acoustics, electrics, and bass. He also adds drums through a drum machine to improve the sound quality and make it more musical than a bunch of guitars. This one guy successfully creates an almost "band" effect in his works.
Now I'm not saying he's epictastically awesome (though he really is), what I'm saying is he does great jobs at covering the music. He listens to the songs and works hard at covering the music and figuring all the notes by his own ears. Soon he will be uploading the celebration of his 100th video which is going to be the biggest video he has ever made, and frankly, I think it's going to be awesome.
So to start off a lot of Final Fantasy fans, here's his latest cover of one winged angel, which, albeit I'm not much a fan for this song, I must admit it is good, and there are many people that enjoy this song.
Now there's also way more than just final fantasy. Any Chrono Trigger fans out there?
And so far this one is my personal favorite, even if you don't know about the game, the music to Castle Crashers is just great. I mean, wow, I was really blown away by this one...
And for the sake of the gamers from the older days or those that simply enjoy older games and/or classics, here is the bohemian rhapsody of video game music.
Overall I think this guy is not only improving, but definitely worth noting. Generally he makes older music from games, but he has done some modern songs. One of his songs I believe is from Mass Effect 2(?) but even then, while simple, is just plain brilliant. He has entire Medleys from games, like Perfect Dark, Zelda, and more. I definitely recommend him for anyone that appreciates music from games as much as I do, or even for anyone who simply likes music and growing artists.
So, what do ya think?
