I would have to go with Cid and Vincent. However that is only because you can not use Sephiroth and Aerith after she dies.

My ideal party would be Lord Sephiroth Aerith and Vincent.
 
I would say Cloud,Barret and Cid

i would like to have:Sephiroth,Reno and Cloud
 
Cloud, Tifa and Barrett
and sometimes I like to take Cloud, Tifa & Red XIII
 
I would have to say that my favourite team was Cloud, Nanaki and Vincent. I could not go a single save without having Nanaki in my party no matter how hard I tried. I was trying to stick with Cid and Yuffie at one point, but it just didn't work out, I reverted back to swapping Yuffie for Nanaki.

My perfect team on the other hand would have been:

Nanaki, Aerith and Vincent. If only you could change Cloud and Aeirth were still alive.
 
I used Cloud, Aeris and Red XIII my first time around ... until my world was crushed when Aeris was murdered. I then exchanged her fot Tifa and now my team is always the same. I'm thinking of playing again with Cid/Yuffie and Vincent.
 
Mine is Cloud, Aerith, Yuffie, and then when Aerith dies its Cloud, Yuffie and Vincent ^^

EDIT: X-Chronic, hun Tifa isn't an origional(Sp?) Character it was Cloud, Barret, and Aerith who were origonals(Sp?)

Cloud Aerith Nanaki
Cloud Aerith Vincent

i can't choose between cloud,yuffie, tifa
cloud, tifa, aerith
cloud, tifa, cid or
cloud vincent cid ((i can't choose cause i train them all))
 
well i stuck with my bread and butter.

cloud, barret for long distance ennimies, and tiffa.

but i at times had. cloud, vincent, and tiffa
 
Cloud, Cid & Vincent because there high strength and defence makes them unstoppable, they each do 9500+ damage each time 99% of the time, they are all on level 99.

That would depend on accessories, weapons, armour and materia to make that strength higher or lower. Not necessarily the case for everybody.
 
Cloud, Aerith and Yuffie, then Cloud, Yuffie and Vincent.

And if I kept getting my ass whooped against a boss, I'd throw in Cait Sith as a last ditch effort. It actually worked more often than not. o_O I chalk it up to sheer dumb luck.
