FF10 Question (Spoiler alert)

[Moved to Final Fantasy X]

I honestly don't think there is answer. I mean, it's not like the "deaths" of characters in battle are in any way canonical to the storyline. What happens in battles won't sync with the story, so there's no real use in asking. It's like why dead characters in other games are rarely ever attempted to be revived using Phoenix Downs.

Yeah, I think it is because he is an unsent. You know.. he was not sent to the farplane till the end of the game. But I know what you mean. I think he dies in battle because his spirit is not at the farplane yet.. if that even makes sense. But yeah, just like above I think he dies because the game is just that way. I mean.. if you had an immortal character that would not be fair xD. Think about it like Lost Odyssey. Immortals come back to life after three turns but they can still die in battle and get hit. Sorry.. I just think Lost Odyssey is a good example. xD Olivia has a point that characters do not get revived by phoenix downs when they die.. in cut scenes for instance. :hmmm:

SPOILER ALERT!!

Ok, in ff10 how does Auron die in battle if he is Already dead?

Well... technically, they're not dying in battle. They're simply being knocked out, or KO'd. That's how I've always looked at it, at least, but I don't think the game makers really thought that people would think "ohey he's dead, how is he being killed in battle?" when they put that into the plot. :wacky: If they did, they figured we'd all get over it or something. xD

Characters don't die in battles: they're just knocked out. It's no different with Auron. The main difference between him and an undead is that he's an unsent: a soul who's got strong emotional attachments to this world (in his case, the promises he made to Braska and Jecht) whilst undeads are simply reanimated corpses.

They're knocked out they don't actually die you guys... phoenix downs just bring people back to consciousness and heal them, they don't bring people back from the afterlife.
