ok i wanted to find out if any1 agreed with me in sayin ff8 was too easy of game. i aint dissin the game i loved it but it was far too easy. the junction idea and the ability to refine magic meant u could make ur character super strong super fast. At the end of the first disk fighting edea squall had like 4000 health. and once later in the game u find the island closer to hell u wer like level 100 in no time.

any1 else agree??????????????????????????????????

Yeah, but I thought all the PS Final Fantasy games were easy. That doesn't make them bad or anything, I just wish some of the bosses could have been a little harder.

Although, on my first playthrough, I'm embarrassed to say this, but Fujin killed me a couple of times.

I don't think that it was easy at all. In fact, VIII has given me more trouble than any of the other games. Maybe it was because I didn't draw magic at every opportunity or spend time getting 100 of every spell, but it was still harder than the others regardless.

I hated that you level up so fast. Byt the time I have HP bonus and Str bonus, Squall's already level 80 or something. He cant take advantage of the bonus skills.

I think they're all easy in their own ways, but...I agree with what you're saying...

Actually...right after the field exam where you aquire Ifrit, I ran around and leveled up for a few hours...Before I even left to go on the Dollet mission, Squall and Quistis were at least level 25 with super stats and plenty of fira, thundara, and cura magic...
I usually have my three primary characters to level 100 by disc 2, and ALL of my characters at level 100 by disc 3. =x

Correct me if I'm wrong, but...doesn't it take just 1000 exp to level up? =x
I don't remember...

im around lv 60 at the end of the game (under level)
i takes a bit more than that (over 10000 i think by lv 60+)

Rhea's right it's around 1000-1200 to level up each level. I don't remember specificly right now though.

oh yeah my bad maybe i was thinking wrong exp
it is exactly 1000 per lv

Yep. Cause I remember, later on in the game, you can zoom through levels in no time, since the monsters level up with you...I think they give you a few more experience points too...
It's only 1000 to level up. 1000 even, I remember because I played recently...So getting to level 100 is a breeze...
The hard part is refining items to up your stats.

FFVIII was one of the easiest of the games I've played mainly due to the fact you can increase your characters stats by staying at low levels, but adding magic to soup your characters up through junctioning. Want a game to do the low level challenge at? This is it right here! I think I ended the game with my main characters at level 30 or so.

ff8 mite of been easy but it was still one of the best ff games on the psx and also i too found it very easy to gain lvls because they got stronger with you.

BustaMo be speaking truth.
Getting to level 100 is just a mission of accomplishment.
It doesn't really help you in the long run. =[

And by the time you get Ragnarok, you can just fly over to Cactuar island and teach your summons all kinds of skills. No leveling up necissary. =]

The easiest one of the lot by far to be honest, Its sooo easy to exploit the Junctioning System. Still an incredibly enjoyable game, and some of the tougher Monsters still proved a slight challange (untill you get LV Down ofcourse :P ) but meh.

Yeah, the main problem with this game was how it was made so the player's aren't really required to level, since the enemies level depends upon your characters average level (I think it's characters average...that or just squalls). Nothing was truly unbeatable at any point if you prepared your characters accordingly.

I managed to complete in under 6 hours without cheats so i found it easy yeah but it was still a decent story line

I think its about as hard as the others. None of the FF's are particularly hard. 8 was just seen as easier because of how good you characters can get at any level.

True, none are really hard, but some do test your patience. If you dont have patience for games such as IV or even X, your gonna get a seirous rapeage! FFVIII however isn't like this, seeing as its easier to speed through the game rather than taking your time levelling.

Technically you could beat FFVIII without levelling up at all, becasue your stats depend heavily on the magics you have junctioned. However, if you have levelled up to 100, the monsters become difficult. Ultimecia was one of the hardest final bosses to date at the time with a huge 500,000 HP :O This made FFVIII very difficult to finish

Yea, it was both too easy and fast. It was more of a love story than an adventure story.
