FFF Fanfic Frenzy (2019)

Fanfic is everywhere; often or not you can't leisurely stroll through an online community without bumping into an amateur author's proud magnum opus. There are entire online communities solely dedicated to the posting and sharing of fanfic based on a staggering breadth of popular and niche entertainment media and chances are, you've written at least one, even if it was simply a series of incoherent scrawls on a napkin in a busy restaurant while you were impatiently waiting for the starter/entrée to be served. I know I've certainly written a number of excruciatingly melodramatic fanfic as a teenager, many of which involved Harry Potter characters engaging in activities so indescribable that would induce even Voldemort to cast the killing spell on himself.

Wait, what do I do?

So, writers of FFF, now it's your turn to conjure up some fanfic and exhibit your writing prowess to us all. If you feel you lack any sufficient writing prowess, simply let out your every train of thought onto either a piece of paper or a Microsoft Word document, because the result can't be any less coherent and poorly written than the recent audio drama and novella that were written for the Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD remastered editions.

Your desecration of the original source material fanfic must be related in some way to Final Fantasy and it is up to you what you wish to write about. Go for a self-insert story where you turn the Final Fantasy VII love triangle debate into a love square if you really want. Or you can produce a story from the perspective of Zell whose desperation for Balamb Garden hotdogs takes him down a dark, violent path. It's entirely up to you!

Rules

• The word limit is 1,500 words, so keep your tales relatively concise! No novels, please!
• General forum rules apply, so don't go peppering your fanfic with hate speech and any material that would put us on an FBI watch list. Granted, if I receive any material like that, it will simply not be published and the guilty member in question shall be Thanos'd.
• Don't post your fanfic here! Send them by Private Message to @Linnaete on here or on Discord (where I also go by the handle of Linnaete).
• The deadline for getting your fanfic in iiiiiiiiiis...Saturday the 15th of June. Monday the 17th of June.

Submissions will subsequently be posted and members will be able to see what you've come up with and cast their votes. Maybe they'll be left thoroughly entertained or traumatised. Either way, it'll be fun!

1st Place = 5 BWP, 5 CT, 5 GP
2nd Place = 3 BWP, 3 CT
3rd Place = 2 BWP, 2 CT

For participating = 1 BWP and 1 CT.

Informal deadline is tomorrow, so if anyone is still interested in getting that creative juice down on paper (or a Word document), you have until the end of today to get your magnum opus in!

That said, if you require an extension, feel free to let me know and we can come to a reasonable arrangement.

I've also informally increased the word count to 1,500 words, but don't feel too compelled to write a piece of this length if it is unnecessary to do so. I've not imposed a minimum word count because I feel there is no good reason to preclude anyone from submitting a short but sweet entry.
