FFVIII out on US PSN Store Now

Do I need to use a PS3 to do this? I don't have one so Would I need to borrow a friends PS3 and put it on there and then transfer it to my PSP? I'm not really sure how it works but I think this is pretty awesome.
 
If you have a PSP and it's got updated firmware, you can access the Playstation Store from the PSP and download it directly onto the memory stick.

It's 1.76 GB though.
 
Hmmm... I'll tack this on here just for the hell of it.

Square Enix have announced Final Fantasy VIII's release on the Playstation Network in the US, allowing users to download the Playstation 1 classic to their PS3 and PSP in a digital form.

The game will perform on the PS3 and PSP in exactly the same way it did on the PS1, and it will also allow players to quickly transfer saves between the two consoles, playing at home and then taking their saves with them, like all PS1 classics.

Previously Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy Tactics have been released as a PS1 classics. Final Fantasy IX is sure to follow soon.

A European release of Final Fantasy VIII is forthcoming.

I don't think I have that much space left on my PSP memory stick. I'll probably have to keep it on my PS3 which is bit of a hindrance to my original plans :hmmm:

Oh well, it will be good to have FFVIII again. My old Platinum disc copy of it fell from my shelf recently and was destroyed :gonk:

I don't think I'm looking forward to the outer space part of the game though.

Actually, I may not have enough space left on my PSP. I already have FFVII on there, and I can't remember if I got a 2GB or 4GB card...
 
People laughed at me when I bought the PSP Go, but I always seem to have enough room =)

I'm downloading this as soon as I get 10 bucks, which should be today as I get paid today.

I'll probably have a gander though I don't think I've got enough in my bank account atm and I cba going to bank to put money in or go t' shop to buy a PSN card. I'll have to wait then :sad3:

Just a question. Is it possibly to move the game onto your computer or external hard drive, or even USB key to store after you've downloaded it onto your PSP?
 
I got to get some psn network cards to get this on my ps3 and psp. This could be a fine thing to play with since I love VIII so muchhh! Thanks for this Mark! Its just a re run right?
 
Oops yeah i didnt realize there was already a thread for this. Sorry. But anyhow, I need to get this game, and perhaps a psp go sometime. I like how it has the 16gb internal memory. That way i can play great games like that on the....go haha. Great price to.
 
i was just now looking through the psn store to see if it would be worth it to buy another psn card to cover the 9 dollars i have in there already for another game and I found this.. Yay! Going to buy card now!
 
I also heard that FF8 was being released in January in Europe. I've been waiting for this pretty much ever since 7 was released and well, I hope it is released this month. If it is it's going straight onto my PSP go along with 7 :D
