FFX - Is The Moon Ring Worth Getting?

At the end of the Mi'hen High Road, you can donate gil to the operation right? I've donated the 100, and 1000 and got the rewards.

Just wondering if the Moon Ring reward is really worth 10000 Gil? Is there any point in donating that much money for it?

I've never got it in all my times playing through the game =]

No. All I think it does is SOS protect, or maybe it's shell. Anyway whatever it is, it certainly isn't worth it.
