Final fantasy 13 collectors/special edition

I hate when I buy a game and then a special edition comes out with extra content or some gimmick. I was wondering whether final fantasy 13 was going to have a special/collectors edition, and if so is it worth buying (I don't care about gimmicks such as art books, but extra content is always worth it).
 
There wont be a special collectors edition with extra content or anything that's for sure but they might do wat the did with final fantasy X or 12 and do another international edition later on that never reaches the states =( damn japan!

They have actually been doing the international games for quiet some time, only in Japan of course.


I can promise you this that gamestop will most likely have some form of collectors edition like they did with Final Fantasy XII
 
yeah, we hope the SE must have something worth it to buy and collect, limited edition will be the BEST
 
Without a doubt there will be a collectors edition. They really can't change the game though, just pay extra cash for drawings, a music demo or something like that. They should be like Persona 4. Include the soundtrack CD and artbook for NO extra money! I love you Atlus.
 
If Microsoft has any handling of this game there will be a special edition in which has DLC and such. I hate microsoft but they are amazing at marketing.. DLC has gained them a fortune.
 
There will most likely be a special edition for FFXIII, but only for the items that come with the game, not game content in itself. The most likely content may be a sample of the soundtrack (the full OST will be released separately), an artbook and possibly a figure of sorts, which has been quite popular with game developers as of late.
 
The P4 game with a OST was brilliant, we need that more! No extra cost or anything, grea t:D

I dont think SE likes making special editions much, they did a special leather bound FF12 guide, got that and think some copies in the States got little teddies with their copies. Its sad they dont do special editions, fans would pay them.
 
Yeah, the only reason why I'd be willing to get a special edition of a game is to get the soundtrack or the artbook, but that doesn't seem likely to happen here.
 
I'm sure they would do a special edition, but the chances of it getting an international release are kinda slim. Maybe if you order it online, though. I'd probably get it, even if I end up with two FFXIIIs (which sounds like a waste, but meh...).

Well with International editions, they would be pointless here. we are international, that why Japan gets them. It adds the content that was added when coming to the states that Japan didnt have at first. So really no point. I really dont see a collectors edition. Didnt they do that with XII because it was the anniversary of the game?
 
If it's FFXIII, I think I really would put in the extra money if extras included an art book and soundtrack with the game in North America. You're already paying a whopping amount for the game (most likely), so might as well throw in the extra 10 bucks for some decent goodies.

But has Square-Enix really done anything like that in the past? I'd be totally beside myself if a figure would come along with the game though. A pretty lil' Lightening figure please :3
 
I'm not really sure where to put this but I think this topic is the most appropriate :

You guys probably herd about this already, and I don't know if there is any other topic dedicated to this but for those who don't really know, there is a FF13 Bundle that was released today containing a White 250Gb PS3, a controller and the actual game in its Japanese Version.

It is exclusive to Japan and it's a very limited edition that costs about $700.

Is there anyone who got one ? =)

I own my own business as a game retailer on internet sites such as ebay and there is no sign of a special edition releasing, I've actually inquired about this with my distributor already.

There is a collectors edition, certainly in the UK at least and more than likely in the US as well :monster:

Not sure what you mean. We normally get the short end of the stick. In Final Fantasy X, they completely took out all the Dark Aeons out of the US Release.
 
In a recent mailing list e-mail...they said there was going to be a special edition of the game.

So I'm guessing a Lightning Figurine, and a special presentation case. Ala every bloody game that came out at the tale end of the year >_>
