Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time Announced

A new scan from this week's Famitsu issue has revealed a new Square Enix title that goes by the name of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time. It is for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii, and thanks to the Pollux Engine developed by the talented guys at Square Enix we gamers will be able to play together online using both consoles (and even transfer Mii's over to the DS), although the gameplay will be different.

The story of the game revolves around Charlotta, the main character, and a mysterious crystal. It is scheduled for release on January 29, 2009.

Does this mean Square Enix gave up on The Crystal Bearers? We'll see at TGS 2008.

How come no one's replied to this...? Anyways.

This seems like an interesting, ambitious project, but I'm not sure how it'll turn out in the end. I also don't know which version I'd get, considering they're both essentially the same.

As for the Crystal Bearers, they've confirmed (as far as I can remember) that it's not been given up on, but simply delayed. Crystal Bearers looks quite appealing to me, personally, so I hope it sees the light of day.

Well to start with the game looks cool but I know nothing whatsoever about crystal chronicles and I know my mom bought me rings of fate is it any good? What happened to the Crystal bearers?

Dunno about Ring of Fates, haven't played that one yet. But I enjoyed the original Crystal Chronicles, though it was very different from what one would expect in FF.

And nothing "happened" to The Crystal Bearers; people just started a rumor that it was canceled.
