Are you ready for Final Fantasy 13? Well if you are and picking up the title on Xbox 360 with the option of installing to your hard drive you will need a good amount of space.

After installing all three discs the total amount of space used up was 18.3GB’s, so it’s bad news for the (Arcade) 20GB owners. Even though the 20GB seems like it would meet requirements, the Xbox 360’s memory system actually reserves approximately 6GB of space for caching, backwards-compatibility and other game elements leaving you with roughly 14GB to play with.
  • Disc 1: 5.9GB
  • Disc 2: 5.8GB
  • Disc 3: 6.6GB
The game is released in North America and Europe on 9th March, we will have our review up on the 5th of March when the online embargo lifts.

My 360 Arcade version has a 60GB hard drive. :hmmm:

It didn't come with the system though. I had to buy it separately. I'm pretty sure the arcade version doesn't come with a hard drive at all.

I actually canceled my preorder for the 360 version since I recently got a PS3.

That is quite a lot actually especially for those with the Xbox 360 Arcade console. I can't remember exactly now - it has either 256MB or just over 500MB internal memory - not 20GB. Either way without a hard drive an Arcade machine won't stand a chance with FFXIII. There's always the external memory option. But I'll be getting it for PS3.

oh so the benefits would be- people wont have to change discs after playing when they install it...but that is too muchh space ...wow I thought MGS4- 4gb on PS3 was much but damn FF13 is crazy space...

Yeah, on one hand it means you don't have to physically change disks...I think? But on the other that's a hell of a lot of space. Either way, I'd probably do it given that installing improves the overall quality of the game.

So you are buying the game on Xbox 360?
I will save money the next few months, Im planning to purchase Ps3 slim with COD modern warfare 2, and maybe later on, maybe 2nd hand copy of FF13.

I have the Xbox 360 Arcade and I haven't bought a hard-drive. I guess I'll need one, looks like I'll be down some cash because I'm already buying Final Fantasy XIII with my own money, and hard-drives can be expensive. Does anybody know the average price of one?

No I'm getting it for the PS3. :ryan:
Just having played The Last Remnant on the 360, installing it made a hell of a lot of difference to the quality.

Holy shit thats alot of space. I dont think I have enough on the 360 for all of these /goes on a massive deleting spree. SO do you have to install them? Because some of my other games worked fine without installing them :hmmm: Installing makes the quality better? really?

I don't think you have to install them, I think you're just able to if you want :hmmm:
I'm not sure if installing all games improves them, but I know with the likes of The Last Remnant it helped speed up the loading times and the graphic textures loaded quicker, too. :hmmm:
