Square Enix are to hold two special events on March 8th to celebrate the release of Final Fantasy XIII on the 9th.

The first is called 'THE FINAL FANTASY XIII EXPERIENCE' and is a fan-focused, daytime event which will allow fans to go hands-on with the game, browse a gallery of FF13 artwork, see trailers and also meet-and-greet the development staff of the game. There'll also be competitions, with chances for fans to win rare prizes.

Later on in the day a select group will be invited to the second event, the official Final Fantasy XIII Launch Party. Top industry brass including Chris Taylor (Supreme Commander), Corrinne Yu (Halo) and FF13 Director Motomu Toriyama will be in attendance to celebrate the arrival of FF13.

Square Enix Members are giving away 200 invitations for two to the Experience and 50 invites for two to the Launch Party, both of which are taking place in San Francisco.

You can have a chance to win by heading over to the Members site. There's also a video of Leona Lewis playing FF13. It's a bit embarrassing, but check it out on the link below.

I expected a video like this to pop up. You couldn't expect Leona Lewis to get away with singing the western version's theme song without playing the game and talking about it, right?

But seeing her play a (Xbox 360 version was it?) video game is a first. She seemed to enjoying it (or feigning it just for the purpose of the game's promotion depending on how cynical you are). How good she was I can't really tell, but she has the time to get used to it less than a month before the rest of us.

And lucky San Francisco...........again.

I don't why I bothered joining SE Members. I love the SE's games, but promotions only count if you live in the U.S. >_>

Sucks being a Canadian gamer. We might get games the same time as U.S., but get shafted for everything else - and we pay more money for our games too Dx

That video just makes me laugh. :lew: I'm not even going to go into detail about why it pisses me off... because I'm sure it's blantantly obvious.

That event doesn't seem to pique my interest though... but even if it did, it's for 21 year olds anyway. :wacky:

I'll take the cynical view that she was definitely feigning it. She took the view of somebody who's never played a Final Fantasy game before and mentioned the graphics above all else :wacky:

"I just wanted to run around the land all day" :ffs:

Yah I just saw this onhe Xbox 360 dashboard and Leona Leona Lewis looks like she is enjoying the game but likes to run around the land all day. She is lucky to have it before us though :rage: She does look like she likes it though :hmmm:

Well lucky 200 people in San Francisco anyway.

Though I'm not sure if I'd be too fussed about this event even if there was a chance for me to attend. I'm not familiar with most of the SE staff anymore, and since I haven't played the game yet I'm not sure if I'll enjoy it.. So going to a massive thing like that, celebrating the release, and then playing the game later... If I don't like it then the whole thing will be embarrassing.

And lol at Leona playing and commenting on the game... That is quite embarrassing.

Haha, i know exactly what you mean. Cheeeeesy!

I wonder how much they paid her to read that prompter. :gasp:

Them lucky son of guns >.>. I actually would be interested in wining rare stuff etc but me no got the money to go to San Fran :gonk: Though, I highly doubt i'd win anyways I always seem to lose at those type things xD.
Lenoa Lewis is toooootally faking it xD fairly decent singer; she should stick with that xD. She clearly looks like she has no clue what she's doing lol.
